¹Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.

¹ «ای آسمان و زمین سخنان مرا بشنوید! و به آنچه می‌گویم گوش فرا دهید.

²My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:

² تعالیم من مانند قطرات باران فرو خواهد ریخت، و مانند شبنم به زمین خواهد نشست، سخنان من، چون باران بر گیاهان تازه روییده خواهد بارید، مانند بارانی است آرام، بر سبزه‌های لطیف.

³Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.

³ زیرا من نام خداوند را می‌ستایم. و قوم او عظمت او را خواهند سرود.

⁴He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

⁴ «خداوند محافظ بزرگ توست، کامل و عادل در همهٔ راهها. خداوند شما، با وفا و قابل اعتماد است، او امین و صادق می‌باشد.

⁵They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation.

⁵ امّا شما بی‌وفا گشته‌اید و لیاقت فرزندی او را ندارید، ملّتی گناهکار و فریبکارید.

⁶Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?

⁶ ای قوم احمق و نادان! آیا به این طریق، تلافی خوبی‌های او را می‌کنید؟ آیا او پدر و آفریدگار شما نیست؟ آیا او نبود که شما را خلق کرد و از شما قومی‌ ساخت؟

⁷Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will show thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.

⁷ «ایّام گذشته را به‌یاد آورید، به سالهای قدیم بیندیشید، و از نیاکانتان بپرسید تا به شما نشان دهند. از ریش‌سفیدانتان سؤال کنید تا به شما بگویند.

⁸When the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.

⁸ خدای متعال سهم هر قوم را داد؛ و برای هر کدام از آنها، جایی برای زندگی بخشید، و مرزهای آنها را به نسبت تعداد بنی‌اسرائیل تعیین کرد.

⁹For the LORD's portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.

⁹ او فرزندان یعقوب را برای خودش برگزید.

¹⁰He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.

¹⁰ «او قوم اسرائیل را در بیابان و در صحرای خشک و سوزان، سرگردان یافت. او مثل تخم چشم خود، از آنها مراقبت کرد و آنها را پناه داد.

¹¹As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:

¹¹ مانند عقابی که به جوجه‌های خود پرواز می‌آموزد و با بالهای گستردهٔ خود آنها را در ایمنی می‌گیرد، خداوند اسرائیل را از سقوط نجات داد.

¹²So the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.

¹² خداوند به تنهایی آنها را هدایت کرد، بدون کمک خدایان دیگر.

¹³He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;

¹³ «او آنها را بر فراز کوهها جای داد. و آنها از محصول زمین خوردند. آنها در میان صخره‌ها عسل وحشی یافتند. و درختان زیتون آنها در زمین سنگلاخ رشد کرد.

¹⁴Butter of kine, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat; and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape.

¹⁴ گاوها و بُزهای آنها شیر فراوان دادند. آنها بهترین گوسفندان، بُزها و گاوها، بهترین گندم، و بهترین شراب را داشتند.

¹⁵But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.

¹⁵ «قوم خداوند ثروتمند، امّا سرکش شدند؛ آنان فربه و سیر شدند. آنها خداوند، آفریدگار خود را ترک کردند و نجات‌دهندهٔ نیرومند خود را رد کردند.

¹⁶They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger.

¹⁶ با خدایان بیگانهٔ خود غیرت خداوند را برانگیختند و با کارهای زشت خود او را به خشم آوردند.

¹⁷They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.

¹⁷ آنها برای خدایانی که واقعی نبودند، قربانی کردند؛ خدایانی که اجدادشان نمی‌شناختند، خدایانی که قوم اسرائیل هرگز پیروی نکرده بود.

¹⁸Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.

¹⁸ آنها خدایشان، نجات‌دهندهٔ توانای خویش را فراموش نمودند و خدایی را که به آنها حیات بخشید، از یاد بردند.

¹⁹And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.

¹⁹ «وقتی خداوند این کارها را دید، خشمگین شد و پسران و دختران خود را ترک کرد.

²⁰And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.

²⁰ خداوند فرمود: 'من آنها را ترک می‌کنم تا ببینم که عاقبت آنها چه می‌شود، زیرا آنها مردمی سرکش و بی‌وفا هستند.

²¹They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.

²¹ با بُتهای خود مرا خشمگین کرده‌اند، با خدایان دروغین خود، غیرت مرا برانگیختند. پس من آنها را به وسیلهٔ کسانی‌که حتّی قومی به شمار نمی‌آیند، به خشم خواهم آورد. من آنها را به وسیلهٔ ملّتی ابله، به غیرت خواهم آورد.

²²For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

²² آتش خشم من برافروخته می‌شود و تا اعماق زمین فرو می‌رود، زمین و همهٔ چیزهایی را که در آن هستند و کوهها را از ریشه می‌سوزاند.

²³I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them.

²³ «'آنها را به مصیبت‌های بی‌شمار مبتلا می‌کنم و هدف همهٔ تیرهای خود قرار می‌دهم.

²⁴They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust.

²⁴ آنها از گرسنگی و تب، جان خواهند سپرد، آنها از بیماریهای مهلک، خواهند مرد. حیوانات وحشی را به جان آنها خواهم انداخت و مارهای سمّی می‌فرستم تا آنها را بگزند.

²⁵The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs.

²⁵ جنگ، مرگ را در خیابانها می‌آورد، ترس به خانه‌ها حمله خواهد کرد. مردان و زنان جوان خواهند مرد. نه کودکان نجات خواهند یافت و نه سالمندان.

²⁶I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men:

²⁶ می‌خواستم آنها را پراکنده کنم تا خاطره‌ای از آنها در یاد کسی باقی نماند.

²⁷Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the LORD hath not done all this.

²⁷ امّا من نمی‌توانم اجازه دهم که دشمنانشان بگویند که آنها قوم مرا شکست داده‌اند، درحالی‌که، این من بودم که آنها را شکست دادم.'

²⁸For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them.

²⁸ «اسرائیل قومی نادان است. آنها هیچ بینشی ندارند.

²⁹O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

²⁹ اگر آنها خردمند بودند، می‌توانستند درک کنند که چرا شکست خورده‌اند.

³⁰How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up?

³⁰ چرا هزار نفر از یک نفر و ده هزار نفرشان از دو نفر شکست خوردند؟ چون خدای توانا، آنها را ترک کرده بود. خداوند آنها را به دست دشمن تسلیم نمود.

³¹For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.

³¹ دشمنان ایشان می‌دانند که خدایانشان ضعیف هستند و چون خدای اسرائیل قدرتمند نیستند.

³²For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter:

³² دشمنانشان مانند مردم سدوم و غموره فاسد می‌باشند. به تاكهایی می‌مانند که انگور تلخ و زهرآگین به بار می‌آورند،

³³Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.

³³ مانند شرابی که از زهرمار تهیّه شده باشد.

³⁴Is not this laid up in store with me, and sealed up among my treasures?

³⁴ «خداوند می‌داند که دشمنان چه کرده‌اند. او به موقع آنها را تنبیه خواهد کرد.

³⁵To me belongeth vengeance and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.

³⁵ خداوند از آنها انتقام می‌گیرد و آنها را جزا می‌دهد. بزودی آنها سقوط می‌کنند، زیرا روز هلاکت ایشان نزدیک است.

³⁶For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left.

³⁶ هنگامی‌که خداوند ببیند آنها ناتوان شده‌اند، به آنهایی که او را خدمت کرده‌اند، رحم خواهد کرد؛ هنگامی‌که او ببیند که چقدر بیچاره شده‌اند خداوند مردم خود را نجات خواهد داد.

³⁷And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted,

³⁷ خداوند به آنها می‌گوید: 'کجا هستند آن خدایان پُر قدرتی که به آنها پناه می‌بردید؟

³⁸Which did eat the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? let them rise up and help you, and be your protection.

³⁸ شما از چربی قربانی‌های خود به آنها دادید و به آنها شراب برای نوشیدن دادید، بگذارید تا بیایند و به شما کمک کنند، بگذارید تا برای نجات شما بیایند.

³⁹See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.

³⁹ «'بدانید که من، تنها من، خدا هستم و به غیراز من خدای دیگری وجود ندارد. من می‌میرانم و زنده می‌سازم. مجروح می‌کنم و شفا می‌بخشم. کسی نمی‌تواند از دست من رهایی یابد.

⁴⁰For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever.

⁴⁰ دست خود را به سوی آسمان بلند می‌کنم و می‌گویم: به حیات خود سوگند،

⁴¹If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me.

⁴¹ شمشیر برّاق خود را تیز خواهم کرد و عدالت را اجرا خواهم نمود از دشمنانم انتقام خواهم گرفت. کسانی را که از من متنفّرند، مجازات خواهم کرد.

⁴²I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy.

⁴² خون آنها از تیرهای من خواهد چکید و شمشیر من همهٔ مخالفان مرا خواهد کشت. کسانی را که علیه من می‌جنگد زنده نخواهم گذاشت. حتّی زخمی‌ها و اسیران خواهند مرد.'

⁴³Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people.

⁴³ «ای ملّتها شما باید با قوم خداوند او را ستایش کنید هرکس را که آنها را بکشد، مجازات خواهم کرد. او از دشمنان خود انتقام می‌گیرد. و گناهان قوم خود را می‌بخشد.»

⁴⁴And Moses came and spake all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he, and Hoshea the son of Nun.

⁴⁴ موسی و یوشع پسر نون این سرود را خواندند تا مردم اسرائیل آن را بشنوند.

⁴⁵And Moses made an end of speaking all these words to all Israel:

⁴⁵ هنگامی‌که موسی دادن آموزشهای خداوند را به مردم به پایان رساند،

⁴⁶And he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.

⁴⁶ به آنها گفت: «حتماً از همهٔ این فرامین که امروز به شما داده‌ام، پیروی کنید. آنها را به فرزندان خود تکرار کنید تا آنها با دقّت از همهٔ فرمانهای خداوند پیروی کنند.

⁴⁷For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong your days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.

⁴⁷ این آموزشها کلمات پوچی نیستند، آنها زندگی شما هستند. از آنها پیروی کنید و شما در سرزمین آن سوی رود اردن که بزودی تصرّف خواهید کرد، عمر طولانی خواهید داشت.»

⁴⁸And the LORD spake unto Moses that selfsame day, saying,

⁴⁸ در همان روز خداوند به موسی فرمود:

⁴⁹Get thee up into this mountain Abarim, unto mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession:

⁴⁹ «به کوهستان عباریم، واقع در سرزمین موآب، مقابل شهر اریحا برو و از کوه نِبو بالا برو و سرزمین کنعان را که من به مردم اسرائیل خواهم داد بنگر.

⁵⁰And die in the mount whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy people; as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered unto his people:

⁵⁰ تو در آن کوه، همان‌طور که برادرت در کوه هور درگذشت جان خواهی سپرد.

⁵¹Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of MeribahKadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel.

⁵¹ زیرا هردوی شما در حضور قوم اسرائیل، کنار چشمه مریبهٔ قادش، واقع در بیابان صین، حرمت مرا نگاه نداشتید. آن سرزمینی را که به قوم اسرائیل می‌دهم از دور می‌بینی، امّا وارد آن نخواهی شد.»

⁵²Yet thou shalt see the land before thee; but thou shalt not go thither unto the land which I give the children of Israel.

⁵² آن سرزمینی را که به قوم اسرائیل می‌دهم از دور می‌بینی، امّا وارد آن نخواهی شد.»
