¹Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

¹ خداوند به من فرمود:

²Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,

² «ای انسان فانی، اورشلیم را از کردار بدش آگاه ساز

³And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto Jerusalem; Thy birth and thy nativity is of the land of Canaan; thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother an Hittite.

³ و بگو خداوند متعال چنین می‌فرماید: «اصل و تولّد تو از سرزمین کنعان است. پدر تو اموری و مادرت حِتّی بود.

⁴And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water to supple thee; thou wast not salted at all, nor swaddled at all.

⁴ در روز تولّد، نافت را نبریدند و با آب شسته نشدی تا پاک شوی. به تو نمک نمالیدند و تو را در پارچه نپیچیدند.

⁵None eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field, to the lothing of thy person, in the day that thou wast born.

⁵ چشمی ‌بر تو دلسوزی نکرد تا از روی محبّت این کارها را برایت انجام دهد. در روز تولّدت از تو بیزار بودند و تو را در بیابان انداختند.

⁶And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live.

⁶ «هنگامی‌که از کنارت می‌گذشتم، تو را دیدم که در خون غوطه‌ور هستی، به تو گفتم که زنده شو.

⁷I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare.

⁷ تو را چون گیاه سالمی ‌پرورش دادم. تو بلندبالا و دوشیزه‌ای متعال گشتی. پستانهایت برآمده و موهایت بلند شد، امّا عریان بودی.

⁸Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine.

⁸ «دوباره از کنار تو گذشتم و دیدم که به سن بلوغ رسیده‌ای. گوشهٔ ردای خود را بر تو گستردم و عریانی تو را پوشاندم. با تو سوگند یاد کردم و با تو پیمان بستم و تو از آنِ من شدی.» خداوند متعال چنین می‌فرماید.

⁹Then washed I thee with water; yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.

⁹ «آنگاه با آب، خون را از تو شستم و با روغن، تو را تدهین کردم.

¹⁰I clothed thee also with broidered work, and shod thee with badgers' skin, and I girded thee about with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk.

¹⁰ بر تو جامهٔ قلّابدوزی شده و بر پاهایت کفشهای چرمی ‌مرغوب پوشانیدم و تو را با ردای ابریشمی آراستم.

¹¹I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain on thy neck.

¹¹ تو را با جواهرات زینت بخشیدم و دستبند به دستت و گردنبند به گردنت آویختم.

¹²And I put a jewel on thy forehead, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thine head.

¹² بینی‌ات را با حلقه، گوشت را با گوشواره و سرت را با تاج زیبایی آراستم.

¹³Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom.

¹³ تو جواهرات طلا و نقره داشتی و همواره جامه‌های قلّابدوزی شده و ابریشم بر تن داشتی. نان تو از بهترین آردها درست می‌شد و روغن زیتون و عسل برای خوردن داشتی. زیبایی تو خیره کننده بود و تو ملکه شدی.

¹⁴And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.

¹⁴ به‌خاطر زیبایی تو، شهرتت در میان همه ملّتها پراکنده شد، زیرا من به تو زیبایی کامل دادم.» خداوند متعال چنین گفته است.

¹⁵But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was.

¹⁵ «امّا تو به زیبایی خود اتّکا کردی و به‌خاطر آوازهٔ خود روسپی گشتی و با هر رهگذری روسپیگری نمودی.

¹⁶And of thy garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high places with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so.

¹⁶ مقداری از پارچه‌هایت را برای تزئین پرستشگاههای خود استفاده کردی و چون فاحشه‌ای خود را در اختیار همه گذاشتی.

¹⁷Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to thyself images of men, and didst commit whoredom with them,

¹⁷ همچنین با جواهرات طلا و نقره‌ای که به تو داده بودم، مجسمه‌های مرد ساختی و با آنها روسپیگری کردی.

¹⁸And tookest thy broidered garments, and coveredst them: and thou hast set mine oil and mine incense before them.

¹⁸ با جامه‌های قلّابدوزی آنها را پوشاندی و روغن و بُخور مرا پیش آنها گذاشتی.

¹⁹My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou hast even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, saith the Lord GOD.

¹⁹ به تو خوراک دادم؛ بهترین آرد، روغن زیتون و عسل، امّا تو آنها را برای خشنودی بُتها هدیه کردی.» خداوند متعال چنین گفته است.

²⁰Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter,

²⁰ «فرزندانی را که برای من به دنیا آورده بودی، برای بُتها قربانی نمودی. آیا روسپیگریِ تو کافی نبود

²¹That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them?

²¹ که فرزندان مرا کشتی و به عنوان قربانی به بُتها تقدیم کردی؟

²²And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood.

²² در هنگام آلودگی و روسپیگری خود، دوران جوانی خود را، هنگامی‌که برهنه در خون خود می‌غلطیدی، به یاد نیاوردی.»

²³And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the LORD GOD;)

²³ خداوند متعال می‌فرماید: «وای بر تو! وای بر تو! زیرا پس از انجام همهٔ شرارتهای خود،

²⁴That thou hast also built unto thee an eminent place, and hast made thee an high place in every street.

²⁴ در هر گوشه و کنار، پرستشگاهها ساختی و به روسپیگری پرداختی.

²⁵Thou hast built thy high place at every head of the way, and hast made thy beauty to be abhorred, and hast opened thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied thy whoredoms.

²⁵ در سر هر خیابانی، بنایی ساختی و زیبایی خود را به فحشا گذاشتی و خود را در اختیار هر رهگذری قرار دادی.

²⁶Thou hast also committed fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, great of flesh; and hast increased thy whoredoms, to provoke me to anger.

²⁶ با همسایگان شهوتران خود، یعنی مصریان، همبستر شدی و با روسپیگری خود خشم مرا برانگیختی.

²⁷Behold, therefore I have stretched out my hand over thee, and have diminished thine ordinary food, and delivered thee unto the will of them that hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, which are ashamed of thy lewd way.

²⁷ «بنابراین، دست خود را علیه تو بلند نموده و سهم تو را کم کردم و تو را به ارادهٔ دشمنانت تسلیم کردم، یعنی به فلسطینیان که از کردار شرم‌آور تو متنفّر هستند.

²⁸Thou hast played the whore also with the Assyrians, because thou wast unsatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied.

²⁸ «چون دیگران نتوانستند تو را ارضاء کنند، به دنبال آشوریان دویدی. تو روسپی ایشان بودی، امّا ایشان نیز نتوانستند تو را ارضاء کنند.

²⁹Thou hast moreover multiplied thy fornication in the land of Canaan unto Chaldea; and yet thou wast not satisfied therewith.

²⁹ تو همچنین برای بابلیان، آن ملّت بازرگان، روسپی بودی، امّا ایشان هم نتوانستند تو را راضی خواهند کرد.»

³⁰How weak is thine heart, saith the LORD GOD, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman;

³⁰ خداوند متعال چنین می‌فرماید: «چون روسپی بی‌شرمی‌ هستی، همهٔ این کارها را انجام دادی.

³¹In that thou buildest thine eminent place in the head of every way, and makest thine high place in every street; and hast not been as an harlot, in that thou scornest hire;

³¹ در هر خیابان و میدان بتخانه ساختی و روسپیگری کردی، امّا تو چون روسپیان دیگر به‌خاطر پول این کار را نکردی.

³²But as a wife that committeth adultery, which taketh strangers instead of her husband!

³² تو چون زنی هستی که به جای اینکه شوهرش را دوست بدارد با بیگانگان هم‌آغوش می‌شود.

³³They give gifts to all whores: but thou givest thy gifts to all thy lovers, and hirest them, that they may come unto thee on every side for thy whoredom.

³³ همهٔ روسپیان هدیه می‌گیرند، امّا تو هدایای خود را به عاشقانت دادی. به ایشان رشوه دادی تا برای روسپیگری تو از همه‌جا بیایند.

³⁴And the contrary is in thee from other women in thy whoredoms, whereas none followeth thee to commit whoredoms: and in that thou givest a reward, and no reward is given unto thee, therefore thou art contrary.

³⁴ پس، تو با روسپیان دیگر فرق داری. کسی به دنبال تو نیامد تا روسپی باشی. کسی به تو پولی نداد بلکه تو به ایشان پول دادی، تو متفاوت بودی!»

³⁵Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the LORD:

³⁵ پس اینک ای روسپی، ای اورشلیم، سخن خداوند را بشنو.

³⁶Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thy filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou didst give unto them;

³⁶ خداوند متعال می‌فرماید: «تو خود را برهنه کردی و چون فاحشه‌ای، خودت را در اختیار عاشقانت و همه بُتهایت قرار دادی و فرزندان خود را کُشتی و قربانی بُتها کردی.

³⁷Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.

³⁷ بنابراین همهٔ عاشقانت را که از وجودشان لذّت می‌بردی و آنهایی را که معشوق تو بودند و کسانی‌ را که از آنها نفرت داشتی، به دور تو جمع می‌کنم و تو را در برابر آنها برهنه می‌سازم تا عریانی تو را ببینند.

³⁸And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.

³⁸ تو را به‌خاطر زنا و قتل محکوم می‌کنم و در خشم خود، تو را با مرگ مجازات می‌کنم.

³⁹And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places: they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.

³⁹ تو را به دست ایشان می‌سپارم. ایشان بتخانه‌هایی را که در آن روسپیگری می‌کردی ویران می‌کنند. ایشان لباس و جواهرات تو را خواهند گرفت و تو را برهنه و عریان رها خواهند کرد.

⁴⁰They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords.

⁴⁰ «ایشان مردم را برمی‌انگیزند تا تو را سنگسار کنند و تو را با شمشیرهای خود تکه‌تکه خواهند کرد.

⁴¹And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou also shalt give no hire any more.

⁴¹ ایشان خانه‌های تو را خواهند سوزاند و در حضور جماعت زنان تو را مجازات خواهند کرد. من تو را از فحشا و هدیه دادن به عاشقانت بازمی‌دارم.

⁴²So will I make my fury toward thee to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.

⁴² آنگاه خشم من پایان می‌پذیرد و آرام خواهم گرفت، دیگر خشمگین و غیور نخواهم بود.

⁴³Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast fretted me in all these things; behold, therefore I also will recompense thy way upon thine head, saith the Lord GOD: and thou shalt not commit this lewdness above all thine abominations.

⁴³ چون تو دوران جوانی خود را به یاد نیاوردی و با کردارت مرا خشمگین نمودی، بنابراین کارهایت را بر سرت می‌آورم.» خداوند متعال چنین فرموده است.

⁴⁴Behold, every one that useth proverbs shall use this proverb against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.

⁴⁴ خداوند می‌فرماید: «ای اورشلیم، مردم این مَثَل را دربارهٔ تو خواهند گفت: 'دختر مانند مادرش است.'

⁴⁵Thou art thy mother's daughter, that lotheth her husband and her children; and thou art the sister of thy sisters, which lothed their husbands and their children: your mother was an Hittite, and your father an Amorite.

⁴⁵ براستی تو دختر مادرت هستی، او شوهر و فرزندان خود را رها کرد. تو مانند خواهرانت هستی که از شوهران و فرزندان خود بیزار بودند. مادرت حِتّی و پدرت اموری بود.

⁴⁶And thine elder sister is Samaria, she and her daughters that dwell at thy left hand: and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.

⁴⁶ «خواهر بزرگ تو سامره است که با دختران خود در شمال تو سکونت دارد و خواهر کوچکت سدوم است که با دختران خود در جنوب زندگی می‌کند.

⁴⁷Yet hast thou not walked after their ways, nor done after their abominations: but, as if that were a very little thing, thou wast corrupted more than they in all thy ways.

⁴⁷ تو نه تنها از آنها و کارهای زشتشان تقلید و پیروی کردی، بلکه در مدّت کوتاهی فاسدتر از آنها شدی.

⁴⁸As I live, saith the Lord GOD, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters.

⁴⁸ «به حیات خودم سوگند که خواهرت سدوم و دخترانش مثل تو به چنین کارهای زشتی دست نزده‌اند.

⁴⁹Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

⁴⁹ گناه سدوم و دخترانش این بود که چون همه‌چیز را به فراوانی داشتند و در رفاه و آسایش زندگی می‌کردند، مغرور شده بودند و به بینوایان و نیازمندان کمک نمی‌کردند.

⁵⁰And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.

⁵⁰ ایشان مغرور و سرسخت بودند و کارهایی را که من از آنها تنفّر دارم، انجام دادند، پس من ایشان را نابود کردم.

⁵¹Neither hath Samaria committed half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters in all thine abominations which thou hast done.

⁵¹ «سامره نصف گناهان تو را مرتکب نشد، کارهای زشت تو بمراتب بیشتر از خواهرانت بوده است. فساد تو به حدّی است که در مقایسه با خواهرانت، ایشان بی‌گناه به نظر می‌رسند.

⁵²Thou also, which hast judged thy sisters, bear thine own shame for thy sins that thou hast committed more abominable than they: they are more righteous than thou: yea, be thou confounded also, and bear thy shame, in that thou hast justified thy sisters.

⁵² اینک باید شرمساری خود را تحمّل کنی، گناهان تو به حدّی از خواهرانت بدتر است که ایشان در کنار تو بی‌گناه به‌نظر می‌رسند. اکنون سرافکنده و خجل شو، زیرا تو باعث می‌شوی که خواهرانت پاک به‌نظر برسند.»

⁵³When I shall bring again their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, then will I bring again the captivity of thy captives in the midst of them:

⁵³ خداوند به اورشلیم فرمود: «من سدوم، سامره و روستاهایشان را کامروا خواهم ساخت. بله، من تو را هم کامروا خواهم کرد.

⁵⁴That thou mayest bear thine own shame, and mayest be confounded in all that thou hast done, in that thou art a comfort unto them.

⁵⁴ تو به‌خاطر کارهایی که کرده‌ای باید خجالت بکشی و شرمساری تو به آنها نشان خواهد داد که چه وضع بهتری دارند.

⁵⁵When thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, then thou and thy daughters shall return to your former estate.

⁵⁵ بلی، خواهرانت، سدوم و سامره و دخترانشان و همچنین تو با دخترانت دوباره کامیاب خواهید شد.

⁵⁶For thy sister Sodom was not mentioned by thy mouth in the day of thy pride,

⁵⁶ آیا در روزهای غرورت سدوم را مسخره نمی‌کردی؟

⁵⁷Before thy wickedness was discovered, as at the time of thy reproach of the daughters of Syria, and all that are round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, which despise thee round about.

⁵⁷ امّا حالا تو مایهٔ تمسخر اَدوم و فلسطینیان و دخترانشان و همسایگانت شده‌ای و همگی از تو نفرت دارند.

⁵⁸Thou hast borne thy lewdness and thine abominations, saith the LORD.

⁵⁸ پس تو باید به سزای کارهای بد و گناهانت برسی.»

⁵⁹For thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even deal with thee as thou hast done, which hast despised the oath in breaking the covenant.

⁵⁹ خداوند متعال می‌فرماید: «من مطابق کردارت با تو رفتار خواهم کرد، زیرا سوگندت را فراموش کردی و پیمانت را شکستی.

⁶⁰Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.

⁶⁰ امّا من پیمانی را که در دوران جوانی‌ات با تو بسته بودم، از یاد نمی‌برم و حال با تو پیمانی ابدی می‌بندم.

⁶¹Then thou shalt remember thy ways, and be ashamed, when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thine elder and thy younger: and I will give them unto thee for daughters, but not by thy covenant.

⁶¹ تو به یاد خواهی آورد که چگونه رفتار کرده‌ای و هنگامی‌که خواهران بزرگ و کوچکت را به تو بازگردانم، شرمسار خواهی شد. من اجازه می‌دهم ایشان چون دختران تو باشند، گر‌چه این قسمتی از پیمان من با تو نبود.

⁶²And I will establish my covenant with thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD:

⁶² پیمان خود را با تو تجدید خواهم کرد و آنگاه خواهی دانست که من خداوند هستم. من همه خطاهایت را خواهم ‌بخشید، امّا تو از به یاد آوردن آنها چنان خجالت خواهی کشید که دیگر دهانت را باز نخواهی‌کرد.» خداوند متعال چنین فرموده

⁶³That thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and never open thy mouth any more because of thy shame, when I am pacified toward thee for all that thou hast done, saith the Lord GOD.

⁶³ من همه خطاهایت را خواهم ‌بخشید، امّا تو از به یاد آوردن آنها چنان خجالت خواهی کشید که دیگر دهانت را باز نخواهی‌کرد.» خداوند متعال چنین فرموده
