¹Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

¹ خداوند به من فرمود:

²Now, thou son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? yea, thou shalt shew her all her abominations.

² «ای انسان فانی، آیا قضاوت خواهی کرد، آیا شهر خونین را قضاوت خواهی کرد؟ پس همهٔ کارهای پلیدش را اعلام کن.

³Then say thou, Thus saith the Lord GOD, The city sheddeth blood in the midst of it, that her time may come, and maketh idols against herself to defile herself.

³ به شهر بگو که خداوند متعال چنین می‌فرماید: چون بسیاری از مردم خود را به قتل رسانده‌ای و خود را با پرستش بُتها آلوده نموده‌ای بنابراین زمان تو فرا رسیده است.

⁴Thou art become guilty in thy blood that thou hast shed; and hast defiled thyself in thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come even unto thy years: therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the heathen, and a mocking to all countries.

⁴ تو به‌خاطر خونی که ریخته‌ای مقصّر هستی و چون با ساختن بُتها آلوده گشته‌ای و روزهای خود را نزدیک کرده‌ای و سالهای تو به پایان رسیده‌اند، به این سبب تو را نزد ملّتها شرمسار ساخته‌ام و همهٔ ملّتها به تو ریشخند می‌زنند.

⁵Those that be near, and those that be far from thee, shall mock thee, which art infamous and much vexed.

⁵ ای شهر پُر آشوب و رسوا، همه از دور و نزدیک تو را مسخره می‌کنند.

⁶Behold, the princes of Israel, every one were in thee to their power to shed blood.

⁶ همهٔ رهبران اسرائیل، با اتّکاء به قدرت خود، خون ریخته‌اند.

⁷In thee have they set light by father and mother: in the midst of thee have they dealt by oppression with the stranger: in thee have they vexed the fatherless and the widow.

⁷ در تو به والدین خود اهانت می‌کنند. به بیگانگان زورگویی و به یتیمان و بیوه زنان ستم می‌شود.

⁸Thou hast despised mine holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths.

⁸ اماکن مقدّس مرا خوار شمردند و روز سبت مرا بی‌حرمت کردند.

⁹In thee are men that carry tales to shed blood: and in thee they eat upon the mountains: in the midst of thee they commit lewdness.

⁹ بعضی از ساکنان تو، دیگران را با تهمت و دروغ به کشتن می‌دهند. بعضی به پرستشگاههای بالای کوه می‌روند و از قربانی بُتها می‌خورند. گروهی همواره هوسهای خود را ارضاء می‌کنند.

¹⁰In thee have they discovered their fathers' nakedness: in thee have they humbled her that was set apart for pollution.

¹⁰ برخی با زن پدر خود زنا می‌کنند. عدّه‌ای با زن خود در دوره عادت ماهانه‌اش همبستر می‌شوند.

¹¹And one hath committed abomination with his neighbour's wife; and another hath lewdly defiled his daughter in law; and another in thee hath humbled his sister, his father's daughter.

¹¹ یکی با زن همسایه زنا می‌کند، دیگری عروس یا خواهر ناتنی خود را وسوسه می‌کند.

¹²In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbours by extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord GOD.

¹² ایشان در میان تو، رشوه می‌گیرند تا خون بریزند، شما هم بهره می‌گیرید و با زیاده‌ستانی از همسایهٔ خود سوء استفاده می‌کنید و مرا فراموش کرده‌اید. من، خداوند متعال چنین گفتم.

¹³Behold, therefore I have smitten mine hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee.

¹³ «ببین، من به‌خاطر سرمایه‌ای که از طریق نامشروع جمع کرده‌ای و خونی که در میان تو ریخته شده است، دستهای خود را بر شما فرود خواهم آورد.

¹⁴Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I the LORD have spoken it, and will do it.

¹⁴ آیا در روزهایی که کار تو را پایان دهم، شجاع خواهی ماند و دستهای تو نیرومند خواهند بود؟ من، خداوند، سخن گفته‌ام و آن را انجام خواهم داد.

¹⁵And I will scatter thee among the heathen, and disperse thee in the countries, and will consume thy filthiness out of thee.

¹⁵ من تو را در میان ملّتها و کشورها پراکنده خواهم ساخت و آلودگی را از تو بیرون خواهم کرد.

¹⁶And thou shalt take thine inheritance in thyself in the sight of the heathen, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.

¹⁶ ملل دیگر تو را شرمسار خواهند ساخت، امّا تو خواهی دانست که من خداوند هستم.»

¹⁷And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

¹⁷ خداوند به من فرمود:

¹⁸Son of man, the house of Israel is to me become dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are even the dross of silver.

¹⁸ «ای انسان فانی، قوم اسرائیل برایم بی‌‌مصرف شده‌اند. آنها مانند تفالهٔ مس، روی، آهن و سرب هستند که در کورهٔ پالایش از نقره جدا شده‌اند.

¹⁹Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye are all become dross, behold, therefore I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.

¹⁹ بنابراین خداوند متعال می‌فرماید: چون همهٔ شما به تفاله تبدیل شده‌اید، شما را در اورشلیم جمع می‌کنم.

²⁰As they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my fury, and I will leave you there, and melt you.

²⁰ مانند کسی‌که نقره، برنز، آهن، سرب و روی را جمع می‌کند و در کوره می‌گذارد تا به آنها آتش بدمد تا ذوب شوند، پس من شما را در خشم و غضب خود گرد می‌آورم و ذوب خواهم کرد.

²¹Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you in the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst therof.

²¹ من شما را گرد خواهم آورد و با آتش خشم خود بر شما خواهم دمید و شما در آن ذوب خواهید شد.

²²As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I the LORD have poured out my fury upon you.

²² همان‌گونه که نقره در کوره ذوب می‌شود، شما نیز در آن ذوب خواهید شد و شما خواهید دانست که من، خداوند، خشم خود را بر شما فرو ریخته‌ام.»

²³And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

²³ خداوند به من فرمود:

²⁴Son of man, say unto her, Thou art the land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation.

²⁴ «ای انسان فانی، به سرزمین اسرائیل بگو: تو سرزمینی هستی که پاكسازی نشده‌ای و در روز خشم، بارانی بر تو نباریده است.

²⁵There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof.

²⁵ رهبران در درونشان مانند شیران غرّانی هستند که شکار خود را می‌درند، ایشان آدمیان را می‌کشند و گنج و اشیای گرانبها را می‌گیرند و بسیاری را بیوه کرده‌اند.

²⁶Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

²⁶ کاهنان قوانین مرا می‌شکنند و برای آنچه مقدّس است، احترام قایل نیستند. ایشان فرق بین پاک و ناپاک را آموزش نمی‌دهند و روز سبت را نادیده می‌گیرند. در نتیجه مردم اسرائیل برای من احترام قایل نیستند.

²⁷Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain.

²⁷ رهبرانش مانند گرگهای درّنده خون می‌ریزند و زندگی‌ها را نابود می‌کنند تا سود ناروا ببرند.

²⁸And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken.

²⁸ انبیا این گناهان را چون کسی‌که دیوار را رنگ می‌کند، پوشانده‌اند. ایشان رؤیاهای دروغین می‌بینند و پیشگویی‌های دروغین می‌کنند. ایشان ادّعا می‌کنند که کلام خداوند متعال را می‌گویند، امّا من خداوند متعال، با ایشان سخن نگفته‌ام.

²⁹The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully.

²⁹ ثروتمندان تقلّب می‌کنند و می‌دزدند. ایشان با نیازمندان بدرفتاری می‌کنند و از بیگانگان سوء استفاده می‌کنند.

³⁰And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

³⁰ به دنبال کسی می‌گشتم تا دیوار را بسازد تا در جایی که دیوار فرو ریخته است، بایستد و هنگامی‌که خشم من آن را ویران می‌کند از سرزمین دفاع کند، امّا هیچ‌کس را نیافتم. من خشم خود را بر ایشان فرو خواهم ریخت و چون آتش ایشان را به‌خاطر کارهایی که کرده‌اند، نابود خواهم ساخت.» خداوند چنین فرمود.

³¹Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD.

³¹ من خشم خود را بر ایشان فرو خواهم ریخت و چون آتش ایشان را به‌خاطر کارهایی که کرده‌اند، نابود خواهم ساخت.» خداوند چنین فرمود.
