¹The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,

¹ حضور پرتوان خداوند را احساس کردم و روح او مرا برداشت و در درّه‌ای قرار داد. آنجا پر از استخوان بود.

²And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.

² او مرا در پیرامون آنها هدایت کرد. آنجا استخوانهای بسیاری افتاده بود و آنها بسیار خشک بودند.

³And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.

³ او به من گفت: «ای انسان فانی، آیا این استخوانها می‌توانند زنده شوند؟» پاسخ دادم: «ای خداوند متعال تنها تو می‌توانی آن را پاسخ بدهی.»

⁴Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.

⁴ آنگاه او به من فرمود: «بر این استخوانها نبوّت کن و به آنها بگو: ای استخوانهای خشک، کلام خداوند را بشنوید.

⁵Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:

⁵ خداوند متعال به این استخوانها چنین می‌فرماید: من به درون شما نَفَس وارد می‌کنم و شما زنده خواهید شد.

⁶And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

⁶ من به شما رگ و پِی خواهم داد و گوشت بر شما خواهم آورد و شما را به پوست خواهم پوشاند و نفس در شما خواهم دمید و زنده خواهید شد و خواهید دانست که من خداوند هستم.»

⁷So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.

⁷ پس من چنانكه دستور داده شده بود نبوّت کردم. ناگهان صدایی برخاست؛ صدای جنبش، و استخوانها به هم پیوستند، استخوان به استخوان.

⁸And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.

⁸ نگاه کردم دیدم که رَگ و پی و گوشت بر آنها بود و پوست آنها را پوشانده بود امّا نَفَس حیات در آنها نبود.

⁹Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

⁹ آنگاه خداوند به من فرمود: «بر نَفَس نبوّت کن، ای انسان فانی، به نَفَس بگو خداوند متعال چنین می‌فرماید 'ای نَفَس از چهار باد بیا و بر این کشتگان بدَم تا زنده شوند.'»

¹⁰So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

¹⁰ پس همان‌گونه که به من فرمان داده شده بود نبوّت کردم و نفَس به درون آنها رفت و زنده شدند و به پا ایستادند و لشکر بزرگی را تشکیل دادند.

¹¹Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.

¹¹ سپس خداوند فرمود: «ای انسان فانی، این استخوانها همه قوم اسرائیل هستند. اینک می‌گویند: 'استخوانهای ما خشک شده‌اند و امید ما گُم گشته است و ما کاملاً قطع شده‌ایم.'

¹²Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.

¹² نبوّت کن و به ایشان بگو: بنابراین خداوند متعال می‌فرماید، من گورهای شما را می‌گشایم و شما را از گورهایتان بیرون می‌آورم. ای قوم من، شما را به سرزمین اسرائیل بازمی‌گردانم.

¹³And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,

¹³ ای قوم من، هنگامی‌که گورهای شما را بگشایم و شما را بیرون بیاورم خواهید دانست که من خداوند هستم.

¹⁴And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.

¹⁴ روح خود را در شما می‌گذارم تا زنده شوید و شما را در سرزمینتان قرار می‌دهم. آنگاه خواهید دانست که من خداوند، سخن گفته‌ام و به انجام رسانده‌ام. خداوند چنین ‌فرموده است.»

¹⁵The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,

¹⁵ کلام خداوند بر من آمد و فرمود:

¹⁶Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim and for all the house of Israel his companions:

¹⁶ «ای انسان فانی، چوبدستی بردار و روی آن بنویس: 'پادشاهی یهودا' آنگاه چوبدست دیگری را بردار و بر روی آن بنویس: 'پادشاهی اسرائیل'

¹⁷And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand.

¹⁷ و انتهای دو چوب را طوری نگه‌دار که یک چوب به‌نظر بیایند

¹⁸And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not shew us what thou meanest by these?

¹⁸ و هنگامی‌که قوم تو بپرسند آیا مفهوم این کار را برای ما آشکار نخواهی ساخت؟

¹⁹Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.

¹⁹ به آنها بگو من، خداوند متعال چوبی را که نمایانگر قوم اسرائیل است برمی‌دارم و آن را کنار چوبی که نمایانگر یهوداست می‌گذارم. من‌ آنها را یکی نموده و در دستم نگاه خواهم داشت.

²⁰And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their eyes.

²⁰ «هنگامی‌که چوبدستی‌هایی را که بر روی آنها نوشته‌ای در برابر چشمانشان در دست داری،

²¹And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:

²¹ آنگاه به ایشان بگو خداوند متعال چنین می‌فرماید: اینک قوم اسرائیل را از میان همهٔ مللی که رفته‌اند، برمی‌دارم و از هر گوشه‌ای ایشان را جمع می‌کنم و به میهن خودشان بازمی‌گردانم.

²²And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all.

²² من ایشان را به صورت یک ملّت متّحد در سرزمین در کوههای اسرائیل خواهم ساخت. یک پادشاه بر همهٔ ایشان فرمانروایی خواهد کرد و دیگر دو ملّت نخواهد بود و به دو پادشاهی تقسیم نخواهد شد. من ایشان را پاک خواهم کرد و ایشان قوم من خواهند بود و من هم خدای ایشان خواهم بود.

²³Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.

²³ آنها دیگر خود را با بُتهای نفرت‌انگیز، آلوده و با گناهان، فاسد نخواهند ساخت. من آنها را از تمام راههایی که در آن گناه و به من خیانت کرده‌اند رهایی می‌بخشم.

²⁴And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.

²⁴ پادشاهی مثل بندهٔ من داوود، پادشاه آنان خواهد بود. آنها تحت پادشاهی او متّحد خواهند شد و فرامین من را وفادارانه اطاعت خواهند نمود.

²⁵And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever.

²⁵ ایشان در سرزمینی که به بنده‌ام یعقوب دادم زندگی خواهند کرد، سرزمینی که نیاکانشان در آن زیستند. آنها همواره در آن سرزمین زندگی خواهند کرد. همچنین فرزندان و بازماندگان ایشان. پادشاهی چون داوود تا ابد بر ایشان حکومت خواهد کرد.

²⁶Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.

²⁶ با ایشان پیمان جاودانهٔ صلح خواهم بست، ایشان را برکت می‌دهم و تعداد ایشان را زیاد خواهم کرد و معبد بزرگ خود را تا ابد در سرزمین ایشان می‌گذارم.

²⁷My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

²⁷ محل سکونت من در میان ایشان خواهد بود. من خدای ایشان و ایشان قوم من خواهند بود. هنگامی‌که معبد بزرگ من در بین ایشان تا ابد مستقر شود آنگاه ملّتها خواهند دانست که من خداوند، اسرائیل را قوم برگزیدهٔ خود کرده‌ام.»

²⁸And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.

²⁸ هنگامی‌که معبد بزرگ من در بین ایشان تا ابد مستقر شود آنگاه ملّتها خواهند دانست که من خداوند، اسرائیل را قوم برگزیدهٔ خود کرده‌ام.»
