¹Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

¹ فکر نکنید که خداوند آن‌قدر ضعیف است که نمی‌تواند شما را نجات دهد ‌یا آن‌قدر کَر است که فریاد شما را برای کمک نمی‌شنود.

²But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

² به‌خاطر گناهان شماست که او حرف شما را نمی‌شنود. این گناهان شماست که بین شما و خدا -‌حتّی در وقتی که می‌خواهید او را پرستش کنید- جدایی ایجاد کرده است.

³For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.

³ شما مرتکب گناهان دروغگویی، خشونت، و قتل شده‌اید.

⁴None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

⁴ شما به دادگاه می‌روید، ولی حقیقت را نمی‌گویید. شما می‌خواهید با دروغ در دعوا برنده شوید. نقشه‌های خود را برای آزار دیگران دنبال می‌کنید.

⁵They hatch cockatrice' eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.

⁵ توطئه‌‌های شرارت‌آمیزی که طرح می‌کنید مثل تخمهای مارهای زهرآگین، سمّی هستند؛ از درون این تخمها چیزی جز مار به دنیا نمی‌آید. این نقشه‌ها به سود شما نخواهد بود، آنها مثل لباسی خواهند بود که از تار عنکبوت بافته شده باشد!

⁶Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands.

⁶ شما دایماً در اندیشهٔ توطئه‌های شرارت‌بار هستید، و می‌خواهید هرچه سریعتر آن نقشه‌ها اجرا شوند. برای کشتن آدمهای بی‌گناه هیچ‌وقت تأمل نمی‌‌کنید. هر جا می‌روید خرابی و ویرانی بجا می‌گذارید،

⁷Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.

⁷ و وقتی شما آنجا هستید، کسی در امن و امان نیست. هرچه می‌کنید بی‌عدالتی است. شما مسیری ناراست را دنبال می‌کنید و هیچ‌وقت کسی‌که از آن راه برود در امن و امان نخواهد بود.

⁸The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.

⁸ مردم می‌گویند: «ما اکنون می‌دانیم چرا خداوند ما را از دست کسانی‌که به ما ظلم و جور روا می‌دارند، خلاص نمی‌کند. ما در انتظار نور هستیم تا بتوانیم راه خود را پیدا کنیم، امّا تمام راهها تاریک است.

⁹Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.

⁹ مثل آدمهای کور، کورکورانه حرکت می‌کنیم. در آفتاب ظهر می‌لغزیم، گویی که شبی تاریک است، و یا در ظلمت دنیای مردگان هستیم.

¹⁰We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noon day as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men.

¹⁰ ما در ترس و نگرانی هستیم. ما با اشتیاق فراوان در انتظاریم که خدا ما را از ظلم و بی‌انصافی خلاص کند، ولی از آن نتیجه‌ای نگرفتیم.

¹¹We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us.

¹¹ «ای خداوند، گناهان بی‌شماری برضد تو مرتکب شده‌ایم و خطاهای ما گواهی است برضد ما، و خودمان از آنها کاملاً آگاه هستیم.

¹²For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them;

¹² ما علیه تو شوریده‌ایم، تو را رد کرده و از پیروی تو خودداری نموده‌ایم. ما به دیگران ستم روا داشتیم و از تو دور شدیم. افکار ما غلط و گفتار ما ناراست است.

¹³In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.

¹³ عدالت به عقب رانده شده، و نیکویی نمی‌تواند نزدیک شود. در پیش چشمان همه حقیقت منحرف شده، و جایی برای صداقت وجود ندارد.

¹⁴And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.

¹⁴ آن‌قدر صداقت کَم شده که اگر کسی دست از شرارات بردارد، خودش هدف شرارت قرار می‌گیرد.» خداوند اینها را دیده است واز اینکه عدالتی نیست، ناخشنود است.

¹⁵Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.

¹⁵ او در عجب است که کسی به یاری ستمدیدگان نمی‌رود. از این رو او با قدرت خودش برای رهایی آنها می‌رود و پیروزی را به دست می‌آورد.

¹⁶And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.

¹⁶ او عدالت را مانند زره بر تن کرده، و پیروزی را مانند کلاهخود بر سر گذاشته. او خود را با اشتیاق شدید برای اصلاح، تنبیه، و انتقام از کسانی‌که باعث چنین ستمی بر قوم خدا شده‌اند، آماده کرده است.

¹⁷For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak.

¹⁷ او دشمنان خود را -‌حتّی آنهایی را که در سرزمینهای دوردست زندگی می‌کنند- متناسب با آنچه که مرتکب شده‌اند، مجازات خواهد کرد.

¹⁸According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence.

¹⁸ همه از شرق و غرب از او و از قدرت عظیم او در هراس خواهند بود. او مثل رودی خروشان، و مانند بادی شدید خواهد آمد.

¹⁹So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.

¹⁹ خداوند به قوم خود می‌گوید: «من به اورشلیم خواهم آمد تا از تو حمایت کنم و تمام کسانی را که از گناهان خود توبه می‌کنند نجات دهم. و من با تو پیمان می‌بندم که قدرت و تعالیم خود را تا به ابد به تو بدهم، در عوض تو باید از من اطاعت کنی و به فرزندان و نوه‌های خود بیاموزی که همیشه مُطیع من باشند.»

²⁰And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.

²⁰ و من با تو پیمان می‌بندم که قدرت و تعالیم خود را تا به ابد به تو بدهم، در عوض تو باید از من اطاعت کنی و به فرزندان و نوه‌های خود بیاموزی که همیشه مُطیع من باشند.»

²¹As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.
