¹I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name.

¹ خداوند گفت: «من آماده بودم تا به دعاهای قوم خودم جواب بدهم، امّا آنها چیزی از من نخواستند. من حاضر بودم که آنها مرا بیابند، امّا آنها هیچ کوششی نکردند. گرچه من همیشه آماده بودم به آنها پاسخ بدهم، و گفته بودم 'آماده‌ام و به شما کمک خواهم کرد‌'، قوم من هیچ‌وقت از من چیزی نخواست.

²I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts;

² من همیشه حاضر بودم قوم سرکش و خطاکار خود را که به راههای غلط می‌روند بپذیرم.

³A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick;

³ آنها با گستاخی به خشمگین کردن من ادامه می‌دهند. آنها در باغچه‌های مقدّس مثل کافرها قربانی می‌گذرانند و بُخور می‌سوزانند.

⁴Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;

⁴ شب هنگام به غارها و قبرها می‌روند تا از ارواح مردگان یاری بجویند. آنها گوشت خوک و آبگوشتی را که با گوشتهای ناپاک تهیّه شده می‌خورند.

⁵Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.

⁵ آن‌ وقت به دیگران می‌گویند، 'به ما نزدیک نشوید. ما آن‌قدر مقدّس و پاک هستیم که اگر ما را لمس کنید، ما نجس می‌شویم.' چنین مردمی را نمی‌توانم تحمّل کنم. خشم من علیه آنها مثل آتشی است که هیچ‌وقت خاموش نمی‌شود!

⁶Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom,

⁶ «تصمیم خود را برای مجازات آنها گرفته‌ام و حکم محکومیّت آنها نوشته شده است. کارهای آنها را نادیده نخواهم گرفت و

⁷Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the LORD, which have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom.

⁷ برای گناهان خودشان و گناهان اجدادشان مجازات خواهند شد. آنها در پرستشگاه کافران برفراز تپّه‌ها بُخور سوزانده و به من ناسزا گفته‌اند. پس به‌خاطر آنچه در گذشته انجام داده‌اند ایشان را مجازات خواهم نمود.»

⁸Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all.

⁸ خداوند می‌گوید: «کسی انگور خوب را نه تنها از بین نمی‌برد، بلکه از آن شراب می‌گیرد. من هم قوم خودم را از بین نخواهم برد، کسانی‌که مرا خدمت کنند، نجات خواهند یافت.

⁹And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there.

⁹ من کسانی را که به طایفهٔ یهودا تعلّق دارند، برکت خواهم داد و فرزندان آنها سرزمین کوهستانی را تصرّف خواهند کرد. قوم برگزیدهٔ من که مرا خدمت می‌کند، در اینجا زندگی خواهد کرد.

¹⁰And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for the herds to lie down in, for my people that have sought me.

¹⁰ آنها مرا پرستش خواهند کرد و گاو و گوسفندانشان در دشت شارون در غرب و در دشت عخور، یعنی دشت زحمات در مشرق خواهند چرید.

¹¹But ye are they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number.

¹¹ «امّا دربارهٔ شما، کسانی‌که من را ترک کردید و صهیون کوه مقدّس مرا نادیده گرفتید و گَد و مِنی، خدایان اقبال و سرنوشت را می‌پرستید.

¹²Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not.

¹² سرنوشت شما مرگ خوفناکی است، چون وقتی شما را خواندم پاسخ ندادید و وقتی سخن گفتم، گوش ندادید. شما نافرمانی کردید و مرتکب شرارت شدید.

¹³Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed:

¹³ پس به شما می‌گویم کسانی‌که مرا پرستش و از من اطاعت می‌کنند خوردنی و نوشیدنی فراوان خواهند داشت، امّا شما گرسنه و تشنه خواهید بود. آنها خوشحال و شما شرمسار خواهید بود.

¹⁴Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.

¹⁴ آنها از شادی می‌سرایند، ولی شما با دلهای شکسته خواهید گریست.

¹⁵And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord GOD shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name:

¹⁵ قوم برگزیدهٔ من اسم شما را به عنوان لعنت به کار خواهند برد. من، خدای قادر، شما را هلاک خواهم کرد. امّا اسمی تازه به کسانی‌که از من اطاعت می‌کنند، خواهم داد.

¹⁶That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes.

¹⁶ هرکس در این سرزمین طالب برکتی است، باید از خدای وفادار آن برکت را بطلبد. هرکس سوگند یاد می‌کند به نام خدای وفادار یاد خواهد کرد. ناراحتی‌های گذشته فراموش شده‌اند.»

¹⁷For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

¹⁷ خداوند می‌گوید: «من زمینی جدید و آسمانی تازه می‌آفرینم. اتّفاقات گذشته کاملاً فراموش خواهند شد.

¹⁸But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.

¹⁸ خوشحال باشید و از آنچه آفریدم برای همیشه لذّت ببرید. اورشلیم تازه‌ای که من خواهم ساخت از خوشی لبریز خواهد بود و مردمان او خرسند خواهند بود.

¹⁹And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.

¹⁹ من به‌خاطر اورشلیم و مردم آن بسیار خوشحالم. دیگر در آنجا گریه و فریاد برای کمک نخواهد بود.

²⁰There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.

²⁰ بچّه‌ها دیگر در طفولیّت نخواهند مُرد، و مردم همه عمر طبیعی خواهند داشت. آدمهای صدساله جوان محسوب می‌شوند، اگر قبل از آن بمیرند، نشانه‌ای است که من آنها را تنبیه نمودم.

²¹And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.

²¹ ‌خانه‌هایی برای خود می‌سازند و خودشان در آن زندگی خواهند کرد نه دیگران. آنها تاکستانهای خود را می‌کارند و خودشان از شراب آنها لذّت می‌برند، نه دیگران. قوم من مثل درخت، عمر طولانی خواهند داشت و از ثمرهٔ کارهای خود برای مدّتی طولانی لذّت خواهند بُرد.

²²They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.

²² در کارشان موفّق و فرزندانشان با مصیبت روبه‌رو نخواهند شد. من به آنها و به فرزندان آنها همیشه برکت خواهم داد.

²³They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.

²³ حتّی قبل از آنکه دعاهای آنها تمام شود من به آنها پاسخ خواهم داد. گرگ و گوسفند با هم خواهند چرید، شیر مثل گاو کاه خواهد خورد، و مار دیگر سمّی نخواهد بود. در صهیون، در کوه مقدّس من، دیگر چیزی شریر و مضرّ وجود نخواهد داشت.»

²⁴And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

²⁴ گرگ و گوسفند با هم خواهند چرید، شیر مثل گاو کاه خواهد خورد، و مار دیگر سمّی نخواهد بود. در صهیون، در کوه مقدّس من، دیگر چیزی شریر و مضرّ وجود نخواهد داشت.»

²⁵The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.
