¹This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.

¹ زمینی که به خاندانهای طایفهٔ یهودا داده شد، از طرف جنوب به سرحد اَدوم، که دورترین نقطهٔ جنوبی آن صحرای صین بود، می‌رسید.

²And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looketh southward:

² این سرحد جنوبی از انتهای دریای مرده شروع شده

³And it went out to the south side to Maalehacrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadeshbarnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa:

³ و به جاده‌ای که به طرف گردنهٔ عکربیم می‌‌رفت، ادامه داشت. از آنجا به بیابان صین و حصرون، در جنوب قادش برنیع و بعد از ادار قرقع دور زده،

⁴From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast.

⁴ تا عصمون ادامه داشته و از آنجا به سوی مرز مصر می‌‌رفت و به دریای مدیترانه ختم می‌شد. این حد جنوبی یهودا بود.

⁵And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan:

⁵ سرحد شرقی آن، در امتداد دریای شور و تا دهانهٔ رود اردن می‌رسید. سرحد شمالی آن از خلیج دریای مرده، که آب رود اردن در آن می‌ریخت شروع شده،

⁶And the border went up to Bethhogla, and passed along by the north of Betharabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:

⁶ از بیت حجله گذشته، به طرف شمال به دشت اردن و سنگ بوهن می‌‌رفت. بوهن نام پسر رئوبین بود.

⁷And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of Enshemesh, and the goings out thereof were at Enrogel:

⁷ از آن نقطه از راه دشت عخور به دبیر و از آنجا به طرف شمال غرب به جلجال، مقابل گردنه اَدومیم و تا جنوب دشت ادامه داشت. و از آنجا تا به چشمه‌های عین شمس و عین روجل می‌رسید.

⁸And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:

⁸ سپس از درّهٔ هنوم تا به کوه یبوسی یعنی اورشلیم در سمت جنوب و از آنجا به طرف غرب از قلّهٔ کوه مقابل درّه هنوم، در انتهای شمالی دشت رفائیم می‌گذشت.

⁹And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjathjearim:

⁹ و از سر کوه به چشمهٔ نفتوح و از آنجا از شهرهای کوه عفرون دور زده تا بعله یعنی قریت یعاریم امتداد داشت.

¹⁰And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Bethshemesh, and passed on to Timnah:

¹⁰ بعد از غرب بعله دور زده، به اَدوم می‌رسید. از امتداد کوه یعاریم یعنی کسالون گذشته، به بیت‌شمس سرازیر می‌شد و به تمنه می‌رسید.

¹¹And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.

¹¹ از آنجا به تپّه‌ای در شمال عقرون می‌آمد و شکرون را دور زده تا کوه بعله ادامه داشت. از آنجا به یبنئیل و بعد به دریای مدیترانه ختم می‌شد.

¹²And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.

¹² سرحد غربی آن را ساحل دریای مدیترانه تشکیل می‌‌داد. این بود سرحدّات خاندانهای طایفهٔ یهودا.

¹³And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.

¹³ همان‌طور که خداوند به یوشع امر فرموده بود، یک قسمت از زمین طایفهٔ یهودا را، به کالیب پسر یفنه داد و آن عبارت بود از: حبرون شهری که متعلّق به اربع پدر عناق بود.

¹⁴And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.

¹⁴ کالیب سه پسر عناق از خاندان شیشی، اخیمان و تلمی‌ را از آنجا بیرون راند.

¹⁵And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjathsepher.

¹⁵ سپس با ساکنان دبیر جنگید. نام دبیر قبلاً قریت سفر بود.

¹⁶And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjathsepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.

¹⁶ کالیب اعلام کرد و گفت: «هرکسی که به قریت سفر حمله کند و آن را تصرّف نماید من دختر خود، عکسه را به او می‌‌دهم.»

¹⁷And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.

¹⁷ عتنئیل، پسر قناز برادر کالیب، آن را تصرّف کرد و کالیب دختر خود را به او داد.

¹⁸And it came to pass, as she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou?

¹⁸ وقتی‌که عکسه پیش عتنئیل آمد، عتنئیل او را تشویق کرد که از پدرش، کالیب مزرعه‌ای بخواهد. چون عکسه از الاغ خود پایین آمد، کالیب از او پرسید: «چه می‌خواهی؟» عکسه گفت: «یک هدیه به من بده، زیرا زمینی که به من دادی، خشک و بی‌آب است. پس می‌‌خواهم که چند چشمهٔ آب به من بدهی.» پس کالیب چشمه‌های بالا و پایین را به او داد.

¹⁹Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs.

¹⁹ سرزمینی که به خاندانهای طایفهٔ یهودا داده شد، شامل این قسمت‌ها بود:

²⁰This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.

²⁰ شهرهای طایفهٔ یهودا در امتداد سرحدات اَدوم، در سمت جنوب اینها بودند: قبصئیل، عیدر، یاجور،

²¹And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the coast of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,

²¹ قینه، دیمونه، عدعد،

²²And Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,

²² قادش، حاصور، یتنان،

²³And Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,

²³ زیف، طالم، بعلوت،

²⁴Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,

²⁴ حاصور حدته، قریوت حصرون یعنی حاصور،

²⁵And Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, and Hezron, which is Hazor,

²⁵ آمام، شماع، مولاده،

²⁶Amam, and Shema, and Moladah,

²⁶ حصرجده، حشمون، بیت فالط،

²⁷And Hazargaddah, and Heshmon, and Bethpalet,

²⁷ حصرشوعال، بئرشبع، بزیوتیه،

²⁸And Hazarshual, and Beersheba, and Bizjothjah,

²⁸ بعاله، عَیم، عاصم،

²⁹Baalah, and Iim, and Azem,

²⁹ التولد، کسیل، حُرما،

³⁰And Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,

³⁰ صقلج، مدمنه، سنسنه،

³¹And Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansannah,

³¹ لباوت، سلخیم، عین و رِمون. تماماً بیست و نه شهر با روستاهای آنها.

³²And Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all the cities are twenty and nine, with their villages:

³² شهرهایی که در دامنهٔ کوه واقع بودند: اشتاول، صرعه، اشنه،

³³And in the valley, Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah,

³³ زانوح، عین جنیم، تفوح، عینام،

³⁴And Zanoah, and Engannim, Tappuah, and Enam,

³⁴ یرموت، عدُلام، سوکوه، عزیقه،

³⁵Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah,

³⁵ شعرایم، عدیتایم، جدیره و جدیرتایم. تماماً چهارده شهر با روستاهای آنها.

³⁶And Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages:

³⁶ همچنین صنان، حداشاه، مجدل جاد،

³⁷Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdalgad,

³⁷ دلعان، مصفه، یقتئیل،

³⁸And Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,

³⁸ لاخیش، بصقه، عجلون،

³⁹Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,

³⁹ کبون، لحمان، کتلیش،

⁴⁰And Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish,

⁴⁰ جدیروت، بیت داجون، نعمه، مقیده. تماماً شانزده شهر با روستاهای آنها.

⁴¹And Gederoth, Bethdagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages:

⁴¹ لبنه، عاتر، عاشان،

⁴²Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan,

⁴² یفتاح، اشنه، نصیب،

⁴³And Jiphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,

⁴³ قعیله، اکزیب و مریشه. جمعاً نه شهر با روستاهای آنها.

⁴⁴And Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages:

⁴⁴ عقرون با شهرها و روستاهای آن،

⁴⁵Ekron, with her towns and her villages:

⁴⁵ از عقرون تا دریای مدیترانه و شهرها و روستاهای اطراف اشدود.

⁴⁶From Ekron even unto the sea, all that lay near Ashdod, with their villages:

⁴⁶ اشدود، شهرها و روستاهای آن، غزه، شهرها و روستاهای آن تا مرز مصر، تا دریای مدیترانه و سواحل آن.

⁴⁷Ashdod with her towns and her villages, Gaza with her towns and her villages, unto the river of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border thereof:

⁴⁷ شهرهای کوهستانی شمیر، یتیر، سوکوه،

⁴⁸And in the mountains, Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh,

⁴⁸ دنه، قریت سنه (یعنی دبیر)،

⁴⁹And Dannah, and Kirjathsannah, which is Debir,

⁴⁹ عناب، اشتموه، عانیم،

⁵⁰And Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim,

⁵⁰ جوشن، حولون و جیلوه. جمعاً یازده شهر با روستاهای اطراف آنها.

⁵¹And Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages:

⁵¹ اراب، دومه، اشعان،

⁵²Arab, and Dumah, and Eshean,

⁵² یانوم، بیت تفوح، افیقه،

⁵³And Janum, and Bethtappuah, and Aphekah,

⁵³ حمطه، حبرون و صیعور. جمعاً نه شهر با روستاهای اطراف آنها.

⁵⁴And Humtah, and Kirjatharba, which is Hebron, and Zior; nine cities with their villages:

⁵⁴ معون، کرمل، زیف، یوته،

⁵⁵Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah,

⁵⁵ یزرعیل، یقدعام، زانوح،

⁵⁶And Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah,

⁵⁶ قائن، جبعه و تمنه، جمعاً ده شهر با روستاهای اطراف آنها.

⁵⁷Cain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages:

⁵⁷ حلحول، بیت صور، جدور،

⁵⁸Halhul, Bethzur, and Gedor,

⁵⁸ معارات، بیت عنوت و التقون. جمعاً شش شهر با روستاهای اطراف آنها.

⁵⁹And Maarath, and Bethanoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages:

⁵⁹ قریت بعل یا قریت یعاریم و ربه، دو شهر با روستاهای اطراف آنها.

⁶⁰Kirjathbaal, which is Kirjathjearim, and Rabbah; two cities with their villages:

⁶⁰ شهرهای بیایان: دشت اردن، مدیَن، سکاکه،

⁶¹In the wilderness, Betharabah, Middin, and Secacah,

⁶¹ نبشان، شهر نمک و عین جدی. جمعاً شش شهر با روستاهای اطراف آنها. امّا مردم یهودا نتوانستند، یبوسیان را که در اورشلیم زندگی می‌کردند، بیرون برانند؛ بنابراین یبوسیان تا به امروز، با مردم یهودا در اورشلیم هستند.

⁶²And Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and Engedi; six cities with their villages.

⁶² امّا مردم یهودا نتوانستند، یبوسیان را که در اورشلیم زندگی می‌کردند، بیرون برانند؛ بنابراین یبوسیان تا به امروز، با مردم یهودا در اورشلیم هستند.

⁶³As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out; but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.
