¹When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.

¹ وقتی عیسی از كوه پایین آمد جمعیّت زیادی پشت سر او حركت كرد.

²And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

² در این هنگام یک نفر جذامی به او نزدیک شد و پیش او به خاک افتاده گفت: «ای آقا، اگر بخواهی می‌توانی مرا پاک سازی.»

³And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

³ عیسی دست خود را دراز كرده او را لمس نمود و گفت: «البتّه می‌خواهم، پاک شو» و فوراً ‌آن مرد از جذام خود شفا یافت.

⁴And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

⁴ آنگاه عیسی به او فرمود: «مواظب باش كه چیزی به کسی نگویی، بلكه برو و خودت را به كاهن نشان بده و به‌خاطر شفای خود هدیه‌ای را كه موسی مقرّر كرده است تقدیم كن تا آنها شفای تو را تصدیق نمایند.»

⁵And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,

⁵ وقتی عیسی وارد كفرناحوم ‌شد، یک سروان رومی جلو آمد و با التماس به او گفت:

⁶And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.

⁶ «ای آقا، غلام من مفلوج در خانه افتاده است و سخت درد می‌كشد.»

⁷And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.

⁷ عیسی فرمود: «من می‌آیم و او را شفا می‌دهم.»

⁸The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.

⁸ امّا سروان در جواب گفت: «ای آقا، من لایق آن نیستم كه تو به زیر سقف خانهٔ من بیایی. فقط دستور بده و غلام من شفا خواهد یافت.

⁹For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

⁹ چون خود من یک مأمور هستم و سربازانی هم زیر دست خویش دارم. وقتی به یكی می‌گویم 'برو' می‌رود و به دیگری می‌گویم 'بیا' می‌آید و وقتی به نوكر خود می‌گویم: 'این كار را بكن' می‌کند.»

¹⁰When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

¹⁰ عیسی از شنیدن این سخنان تعجّب كرد و به مردمی كه به دنبال او آمده بودند فرمود: «به شما می‌گویم كه من چنین ایمانی در میان قوم اسرائیل هم ندیده‌ام.

¹¹And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.

¹¹ بدانید كه بسیاری از مشرق و مغرب آمده با ابراهیم و اسحاق و یعقوب در پادشاهی آسمان بر سر یک سفره خواهند نشست

¹²But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

¹² امّا کسانی‌که برای این پادشاهی تولّد یافتند به بیرون در تاریکی، جایی‌که گریه و فشار دندان است، افكنده خواهند شد.»

¹³And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.

¹³ سپس عیسی به آن سروان گفت: «برو، مطابق ایمانت به تو داده شود.» در همان لحظه غلام او شفا یافت.

¹⁴And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.

¹⁴ وقتی عیسی به خانهٔ پطرس رفت، مادر زن پطرس را دید كه در بستر خوابیده است و تب دارد.

¹⁵And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.

¹⁵ عیسی دست او را لمس كرد. تب او قطع شد و برخاسته به پذیرایی عیسی پرداخت.

¹⁶When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:

¹⁶ همین‌که غروب شد، بسیاری از دیوانگان را نزد او آوردند و او با گفتن یک كلمه دیوها را بیرون می‌کرد و تمام بیماران را شفا می‌داد

¹⁷That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

¹⁷ تا پیشگویی اشعیای نبی تحقّق یابد كه گفته بود: «او ضعفهای ما را برداشت و مرضهای ما را از ما دور ساخت.»

¹⁸Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side.

¹⁸ عیسی جمعیّتی را كه به دورش جمع شده بودند دید و به شاگردان خود دستور داد كه به طرف دیگر دریاچه بروند.

¹⁹And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.

¹⁹ یكی از علما پیش آمده گفت: «ای استاد، هرجا كه بروی به دنبال تو می‌آیم.»

²⁰And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

²⁰ عیسی در جواب گفت: «روباهان برای خود لانه و پرندگان برای خود آشیانه دارند، امّا پسر انسان جایی ندارد كه در آن بیارامد.»

²¹And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.

²¹ یکی دیگر از پیروان او به او گفت: «ای آقا، اجازه بده اول بروم و پدرم را به خاک بسپارم.»

²²But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.

²² عیسی جواب داد: «به دنبال من بیا و بگذار مردگان، مردگان خود را دفن كنند.»

²³And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.

²³ عیسی سوار قایق شد و شاگردانش هم با او حركت كردند.

²⁴And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.

²⁴ ناگهان توفانی در دریا برخاست به طوری که امواج، قایق را پر می‌ساخت، ولی عیسی در خواب بود.

²⁵And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.

²⁵ پس شاگردان آمده او را بیدار كردند و با فریاد گفتند: «ای خداوند، ما را نجات بده، ما داریم هلاک می‌شویم.»

²⁶And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

²⁶ عیسی گفت: «ای كم‌ایمانان، چرا این‌قدر می‌ترسید؟» و سپس برخاسته با پرخاش به باد و دریا فرمان داد و دریا کاملاً آرام شد.

²⁷But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

²⁷ شاگردان از آنچه واقع شد متحیّر شده گفتند: «این چگونه شخصی است كه باد و دریا هم از او اطاعت می‌کنند؟»

²⁸And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.

²⁸ هنگامی‌که عیسی به آن طرف دریا به سرزمین جَدَریان رسید دو دیوانه از میان قبرها بیرون آمده با او روبه‌رو شدند. آنها آن‌قدر خطرناک بودند كه هیچ‌کس جرأت نداشت از آنجا عبور كند.

²⁹And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

²⁹ آن دو نفر با فریاد گفتند: «ای پسر خدا، با ما چه كار داری؟ آیا به اینجا آمده‌ای تا ما را قبل از وقت عذاب دهی؟»

³⁰And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.

³⁰ قدری دورتر از آن محل، یک گلّهٔ بزرگ خوک مشغول چریدن بود

³¹So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.

³¹ و دیوها از عیسی خواهش كرده گفتند: «اگر می‌خواهی ما را بیرون برانی، ما را به داخل آن گلّهٔ خوک بفرست.»

³²And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.

³² عیسی فرمود: «بروید» پس آنها بیرون آمده به داخل خوکها رفتند. تمام آن گلّه از بالای تپّه به دریا هجوم بردند و در آب هلاک شدند.

³³And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils.

³³ خوک‌بانان پا به فرار گذاشته به شهر رفتند و تمام داستان و ماجرای دیوانگان را برای مردم نقل كردند. در نتیجه تمام مردم شهر برای دیدن عیسی بیرون آمدند و وقتی او را دیدند از او تقاضا كردند كه آن ناحیه را ترک نماید.

³⁴And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts.

³⁴ در نتیجه تمام مردم شهر برای دیدن عیسی بیرون آمدند و وقتی او را دیدند از او تقاضا كردند كه آن ناحیه را ترک نماید.
