¹If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;

¹ ای قوم اسرائیل جواب بدهید. اگر خداوند با ما نمی‌بود، چه می‌شد؟

²If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:

² اگر خداوند پشتیبان ما نمی‌بود، وقتی دشمنان بر ما حمله کردند،

³Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:

³ آنگاه آنها در خشم و غضب خود ما را می‌بلعیدند.

⁴Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:

⁴ بعد سیل خروشان ما را با خود می‌برد و آب از سرِ ما می‌گذشت

⁵Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.

⁵ و در گردابها غرق می‌شدیم.

⁶Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.

⁶ خداوند را سپاس باد که ما را شکار دندانهای آنها نساخت.

⁷Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.

⁷ مانند پرنده‌ای از دام صیاد جستیم، دام پاره شد و ما آزاد شدیم. خداوندی که آسمان و زمین را آفرید مددکار ماست.

⁸Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

⁸ خداوندی که آسمان و زمین را آفرید مددکار ماست.
