¹Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.

¹ خدایا، مرا محافظت فرما، زیرا به تو پناه آورده‌ام.

²O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;

² به خداوند گفتم: «تو خداوند من هستی، و هر چیز نیكویی که دارم، از توست.»

³But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.

³ ایمانداران این سرزمین، اشخاص نجیبی هستند و دلخوشی من به ایشان است.

⁴Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.

⁴ آنهایی که پیرو خدایان دیگر هستند، غم و اندوهشان زیاد می‌شود. در مراسم قربانی‌های آنها شرکت نمی‌کنم و نام آنها را ذکر هم نخواهم کرد.

⁵The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.

⁵ خداوندا، تو همه‌چیز من هستی و آنچه را که نیاز دارم، به من عطا کرده‌ای. آیندهٔ من در دست توست.

⁶The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.

⁶ آنچه را که نصیب من کرده‌ای بسیار عالی و نیکوست.

⁷I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.

⁷ خداوند را شکر می‌کنم، زیرا که مرا راهنمایی می‌کند. شبانگاه نیز وجدانم به من هشدار می‌دهد.

⁸I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

⁸ هرگز خدا را فراموش نمی‌کنم، او همیشه نزد من است، هیچ چیز نمی‌تواند مرا بلغزاند.

⁹Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.

⁹ بنابراین سپاسگزار و شادمان هستم و احساس امنیّت کامل می‌کنم.

¹⁰For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

¹⁰ زیرا تو مرا از قدرت مرگ رهایی می‌رهانی. من با وفاداری تو را خدمت کرده‌ام و تو جانم را در دنیای مردگان ترک نخواهی کرد. تو راه زندگی را به من نشان خواهی داد. حضور تو، مرا از خوشی لبریز می‌کند و به من شادی ابدی می‌بخشد.

¹¹Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
