¹I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

¹ با صبر بسیار انتظار کشیدم تا خداوند مرا کمک کند. پس او گوش داد و ناله‌‌‌ام را شنید.

²He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

² او مرا از لجنزار و گودال هلاکت بیرون کشید و بر روی صخره‌ای مطمئن قرار داد.

³And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

³ او سرودی تازه به من آموخت، سرود شکرگزاری از خدای ما. عدّهٔ زیادی چون این را ببینند، به خود می‌آیند و بر خداوند توکّل خواهند نمود.

⁴Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

⁴ خوشا به حال کسانی‌که بر خداوند توکّل می‌کنند، و از اشخاص مغرور و بت‌پرست پیروی نمی‌کنند.

⁵Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

⁵ ای خداوند خدای ما، هیچ‌کس مانند تو نیست، تو همیشه به فکر ما بوده‌ای و برای ما کارهای عجیب کرده‌ای، به حدّی که نمی‌توان آنها را برشمرد و زبان من نیز از بیان آنها عاجز است.

⁶Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.

⁶ تو خواهان قربانی‌ها و هدایا نیستی. قربانی سوختنی و قربانی گناه را نمی‌خواهی، امّا تو گوش شنوا به من داده‌ای تا کلام تو را بشنوم.

⁷Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,

⁷ پس گفتم: «من حاضرم، دستورات تو در کتاب تورات برای من نوشته شده است،

⁸I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

⁸ ای خدای من، چقدر دوست دارم که ارادهٔ تو را بجا آورم. من تعالیم تو را در دل خود حفظ می‌کنم.»

⁹I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest.

⁹ خداوندا، در بین جماعت تو، این مژده را اعلام کرده‌‌ام که تو ما را نجات می‌دهی. تو می‌دانی که من هرگز در این مورد سکوت نکرده‌ام.

¹⁰I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.

¹⁰ و من مژدهٔ نجات را در دل خود پنهان نکرده‌ام، بلکه همیشه از وفاداری و کمک تو در میان جماعت سخن گفته‌ام. دربارهٔ محبّت پایدار و صداقت تو سکوت نکرده‌ام

¹¹Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.

¹¹ خداوندا، محبّت خود را از من دریغ مکن. رحمت پایدار و راستی تو همیشه حافظ من باشد.

¹²For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me.

¹² زیرا مشکلات بی‌شماری مرا احاطه نموده‌اند، به اندازه‌ای که نمی‌توانم آنها را بشمارم! گناهانم بر من سنگینی می‌کنند به حدّی که نمی‌توانم سرم را بلند کنم، آنها از موی سرم زیادتر شده‌اند و طاقتم را از دست داده‌ام.

¹³Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me.

¹³ خدایا مرا نجات بده خداوندا، اکنون به فریادم برس.

¹⁴Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.

¹⁴ آنانی که قصد جان مرا دارند شرمنده و رسوا شوند و بدخواهان من آشفته و پریشان گردند.

¹⁵Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha.

¹⁵ کسانی‌كه مرا مسخره می‌کنند، هراسان شوند.

¹⁶Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.

¹⁶ کسانی‌که به تو روی می‌آورند شاد و مسرور گردند. آنانی که به‌خاطر نجات خود از تو سپاسگزارند، همیشه بگویند: «خدا چقدر بزرگ است!» خدایا، من فقیر و نیازمندم، برای کمک به من شتاب کن، تو خداوند و نجات‌دهندهٔ من هستی. پس ای خداوند، تأخیر مکن.

¹⁷But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.

¹⁷ خدایا، من فقیر و نیازمندم، برای کمک به من شتاب کن، تو خداوند و نجات‌دهندهٔ من هستی. پس ای خداوند، تأخیر مکن.
