¹The burden of the word of the LORD in the land of Hadrach, and Damascus shall be the rest thereof: when the eyes of man, as of all the tribes of Israel, shall be toward the LORD.

¹ خداوند مجازات سرزمین حدراخ و شهر دمشق را اعلام کرده است، زیرا نه تنها طایفه‌های اسرائیل بلکه پایتخت سوریه هم به خداوند تعلّق دارد.

²And Hamath also shall border thereby; Tyrus, and Zidon, though it be very wise.

² حمات که همسایهٔ حدراخ است و همچنین صور و صیدون با تمام مهارتشان متعلّق به خداوند می‌باشند.

³And Tyrus did build herself a strong hold, and heaped up silver as the dust, and fine gold as the mire of the streets.

³ هرچند صور برای خود استحکاماتی ساخته و نقره و طلا را همچون خاک و گِل کوچه‌ها جمع کرده است،

⁴Behold, the LORD will cast her out, and he will smite her power in the sea; and she shall be devoured with fire.

⁴ امّا حالا خداوند همهٔ دارایی‌اش را از او می‌گیرد، ثروتش را به دریا می‌ریزد و خودش نیز در آتش خواهد سوخت.

⁵Ashkelon shall see it, and fear; Gaza also shall see it, and be very sorrowful, and Ekron; for her expectation shall be ashamed; and the king shall perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited.

⁵ وقتی اشقلون این را ببیند وحشت می‌کند. غزه و عقرون از درد به خود می‌پیچند و امید عقرون به ناامیدی تبدیل می‌گردد. پادشاه غزه کشته می‌شود و اشقلون از سکنه خالی می‌گردد.

⁶And a bastard shall dwell in Ashdod, and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines.

⁶ بیگانگان در اشدود ساکن می‌شوند و خداوند می‌فرماید: «غرور فلسطینیان از بین می‌رود.

⁷And I will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth: but he that remaineth, even he, shall be for our God, and he shall be as a governor in Judah, and Ekron as a Jebusite.

⁷ گوشتی را که با خون می‌خورد از دهانش و چیزهای حرام را از میان دندانهایش بیرون می‌کشم. کسانی‌که باقی می‌مانند به من تعلّق خواهند داشت و مانند یکی از طایفه‌های سرزمین یهودا جزء قوم من می‌شوند. عقرون هم مثل یبوسیان به قوم من می‌پیوندد.

⁸And I will encamp about mine house because of the army, because of him that passeth by, and because of him that returneth: and no oppressor shall pass through them any more: for now have I seen with mine eyes.

⁸ من از سرزمین خود حفاظت می‌کنم تا سپاهیان دشمن نتوانند از آن عبور و مرور کنند. من با چشمان خود رنج و خواری قومم را دیدم و دیگر نمی‌گذارم که ستمگران سرزمین آنها را پایمال نمایند.»

⁹Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

⁹ ای مردم صهیون شادمانی کنید! ای اهالی اورشلیم از خوشی فریاد برآورید! زیرا پادشاه شما با پیروزی و با فروتنی سوار بر کرّه الاغی پیش شما می‌آید.

¹⁰And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth.

¹⁰ خداوند می‌فرماید: «من ارّابه‌های جنگی و اسبها را از سرزمین اسرائیل دور می‌کنم. کمانهای جنگی شکسته می‌شوند و او صلح و امنیّت را در بین اقوام جهان برقرار می‌سازد. قلمرو فرمانروایی او از دریا تا دریا و از رود فرات تا دورترین نقطهٔ زمین می‌باشد.»

¹¹As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.

¹¹ خداوند می‌فرماید: «به‌خاطر پیمانی که با شما بستم و آن را با خون قربانی‌ها مُهر کردم، اسیران و زندانیان شما را از چاه بی‌آب نجات می‌دهم.

¹²Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee;

¹² ای تبعیدیانی که در آرزوی آزادی هستید به جایگاه امن خود بازگردید. امروز به شما وعده می‌دهم که رنجهایی را که دیده‌اید دو برابر جبران می‌کنم.

¹³When I have bent Judah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, and made thee as the sword of a mighty man.

¹³ من یهودا را همچون کمان و اسرائیل را همچون تیر به‌کار می‌گیرم و مردان صهیون را مانند شمشیرِ یک سرباز شجاع علیه سپاه یونان می‌فرستم.»

¹⁴And the LORD shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: and the LORD God shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south.

¹⁴ خداوند در وقت جنگ رهبر قوم خود می‌شود و تیرهایش مانند برق بر سر دشمن فرود می‌آید. خداوند اعلام جنگ می‌کند و مانند گِردبادی که از جنوب برمی‌خیزد بر دشمن می‌تازد.

¹⁵The LORD of hosts shall defend them; and they shall devour, and subdue with sling stones; and they shall drink, and make a noise as through wine; and they shall be filled like bowls, and as the corners of the altar.

¹⁵ خداوند متعال از قوم خود دفاع می‌کند و آنها تیراندازان دشمن را مغلوب نموده زیر قدمهای خود پایمال می‌سازند. در میدان جنگ مانند مستان فریاد می‌زنند. خون دشمنان همچون خون قربانی که جامها و گوشه‌های قربانگاه را پُر می‌کند، بر زمین جاری خواهد شد.

¹⁶And the LORD their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people: for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign upon his land.

¹⁶ در آن روز، خداوند، خدای ایشان، مانند شبانی که از گلّهٔ خود نگهبانی می‌کند، قوم خود را نجات می‌دهد. آنها مانند جواهرِ روی تاج در سرزمین او می‌درخشند. در آن سرزمین زیبا و مرغوب، غلّه و شرابِ نو، مردان و دختران جوان را شاداب می‌سازد.

¹⁷For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! corn shall make the young men cheerful, and new wine the maids.
