¹The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar.

¹A palavra que veio a Jeremias da parte do Senhor, no ano décimo de Zedequias, rei de Judá, o qual foi o ano dezoito de Nabucodonozor.

²For then the king of Babylon's army besieged Jerusalem: and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the prison, which was in the king of Judah's house.

²Ora, cercava então o exército do rei de Babilônia a Jerusalém; e Jeremias, o profeta, se achava encerrado no pátio da guarda que estava na casa do rei de Judá;

³For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, Wherefore dost thou prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it;

³pois Zedequias, rei de Judá, o havia encarcerado, dizendo: Por que profetizas , dizendo: Assim diz o Senhor: Eis que entrego esta cidade na mão do rei de Babilônia, e ele a tomará;

⁴And Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall behold his eyes;

⁴e Zedequias, rei de Judá, não escapará das mãos dos caldeus, mas certamente será entregue na mão do rei de Babilônia, e com ele falará boca a boca, e os seus olhos verão os olhos dele;

⁵And he shall lead Zedekiah to Babylon, and there shall he be until I visit him, saith the LORD: though ye fight with the Chaldeans, ye shall not prosper.

⁵e ele levará para Babilônia a Zedequias, que ali estará até que eu o visite, diz o Senhor, e, ainda que pelejeis contra os caldeus, não ganhareis?

⁶And Jeremiah said, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

⁶Disse pois Jeremias: Veio a mim a palavra do Senhor, dizendo:

⁷Behold, Hanameel the son of Shallum thine uncle shall come unto thee saying, Buy thee my field that is in Anathoth: for the right of redemption is thine to buy it.

⁷Eis que Hanamel, filho de Salum, teu tio, virá a ti, dizendo: Compra o meu campo que está em Anatote, pois tens o direito de resgate; a ti compete comprá-lo.

⁸So Hanameel mine uncle's son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the LORD, and said unto me, Buy my field, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, which is in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance is thine, and the redemption is thine; buy it for thyself. Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD.

⁸Veio, pois, a mim Hanamel, filho de meu tio, segundo a palavra do Senhor, ao pátio da guarda, e me disse: Compra o meu campo que está em Anatote, na terra de Benjamim; porque teu é o direito de herança e teu é o de resgate; compra-o para ti. Então entendi que isto era a palavra do Senhor.

⁹And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle's son, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver.

⁹Comprei, pois, de Hanamel, filho de meu tio, o campo que está em Anatote; e pesei-lhe o dinheiro, dezessete siclos de prata.

¹⁰And I subscribed the evidence, and sealed it, and took witnesses, and weighed him the money in the balances.

¹⁰Assinei a escritura e a selei, chamei testemunhas, e pesei-lhe o dinheiro numa balança.

¹¹So I took the evidence of the purchase, both that which was sealed according to the law and custom, and that which was open:

¹¹E tomei a escritura da compra, que continha os termos e as condições, tanto a que estava selada, como a cópia que estava aberta,

¹²And I gave the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, in the sight of Hanameel mine uncle's son, and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the book of the purchase, before all the Jews that sat in the court of the prison.

¹²e as dei a Baruque, filho de Nerias, filho de Maséias, na presença de Hanamel, filho de meu tio, e na presença das testemunhas que subscreveram a escritura da compra, � vista de todos os judeus que estavam sentados no pátio da guarda.

¹³And I charged Baruch before them, saying,

¹³E dei ordem a Banique, na presença deles, dizendo:

¹⁴Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Take these evidences, this evidence of the purchase, both which is sealed, and this evidence which is open; and put them in an earthen vessel, that they may continue many days.

¹⁴Assim diz o Senbor dos exércitos, o Deus de Israel: Toma estas escrituras de compra, tanto a selada, como a aberta, e mete-as num vaso de barro, para que se possam conservar muitos dias;

¹⁵For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land.

¹⁵pois assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, o Deus de Israel: Ainda se comprarão casas, e campos, e vinhas nesta terra.

¹⁶Now when I had delivered the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed unto the LORD, saying,

¹⁶E depois que dei a escritura da compra a Banique, filho de Nerias, orei ao Senhor, dizendo:

¹⁷Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:

¹⁷Ah! Senhor Deus! És tu que fizeste os céus e a terra com o teu grande poder, e com o teu braço estendido! Nada há que te seja demasiado difícil!

¹⁸Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is his name,

¹⁸Usas de benignidade para com milhares e tornas a iniqüidade dos pais ao seio dos filhos depois deles; tu és o grande, o poderoso Deus cujo nome é o Senhor dos exércitos.

¹⁹Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:

¹⁹Grande em conselho, e poderoso em obras, cujos olhos estão abertos sobre todos os caminhos dos filhos dos homens, para dares a cada um segundo os seus caminhos e segundo o fruto das suas obras;

²⁰Which hast set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even unto this day, and in Israel, and among other men; and hast made thee a name, as at this day;

²⁰puseste sinais e maravilhas na terra do Egito até o dia de hoje, tanto em Israel, como entre os outros homens; e te fizeste um nome, qual tu tens neste dia.

²¹And hast brought forth thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with great terror;

²¹E tiraste o teu povo Israel da terra do Egito, com sinais e com maravilhas, e com mão forte, e com braço estendido, e com grande terror;

²²And hast given them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey;

²²e lhes deste esta terra, que juraste a seus pais que lhes havias de dar, terra que mana leite e mel.

²³And they came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they have done nothing of all that thou commandedst them to do: therefore thou hast caused all this evil to come upon them:

²³E entraram nela, e a possuíram; mas não obedeceram � tua voz, nem andaram na tua lei; de tudo o que lhes mandaste fazer, eles não fizeram nada; pelo que ordenaste lhes sucedesse todo este mal.

²⁴Behold the mounts, they are come unto the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans, that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence: and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, thou seest it.

²⁴Eis aqui os valados! já vieram contra a cidade para tomá-la e a cidade está entregue na mão dos caldeus que pelejam contra ela, pela espada, pela fome e pela peste. O que disseste se cumpriu, e eis aqui o estás presenciando.

²⁵And thou hast said unto me, O Lord GOD, Buy thee the field for money, and take witnesses; for the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.

²⁵Contudo tu me disseste, ó Senhor Deus: Compra-te o campo por dinheiro, e chama testemunhas, embora a cidade já esteja dada na mão dos caldeus:

²⁶Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,

²⁶Então veio a palavra do Senhor a Jeremias, dizendo:

²⁷Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?

²⁷Eis que eu sou o Senhor, o Deus de toda a carne; acaso há alguma coisa demasiado difícil para mim?

²⁸Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it:

²⁸Portanto assim diz o Senhor: Eis que eu entrego esta cidade na mão dos caldeus, e na mão de Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, e ele a tomará.

²⁹And the Chaldeans, that fight against this city, shall come and set fire on this city, and burn it with the houses, upon whose roofs they have offered incense unto Baal, and poured out drink offerings unto other gods, to provoke me to anger.

²⁹E os caldeus que pelejam contra esta cidade entrarão nela, e lhe porão fogo, e a queimarão, juntamente com as casas sobre cujos terraços queimaram incenso a Baal e ofereceram libações a outros deuses, para me provocarem a ira.

³⁰For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have only done evil before me from their youth: for the children of Israel have only provoked me to anger with the work of their hands, saith the LORD.

³⁰Pois os filhos de Israel e os filhos de Judá têm feito desde a sua mocidade tão somente o que era mau aos meus olhos; pois os filhos de Israel nada têm feito senão provocar-me � ira com as obras das suas mãos, diz o Senhor.

³¹For this city hath been to me as a provocation of mine anger and of my fury from the day that they built it even unto this day; that I should remove it from before my face,

³¹Na verdade esta cidade, desde o dia em que a edificaram e até o dia de hoje, tem provocado a minha ira e o meu furor, de sorte que eu a removerei de diante de mim,

³²Because of all the evil of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke me to anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

³²por causa de toda a maldade dos filhos de Israel e dos filhos de Judá, que fizeram para me provocarem � ira, eles e os seus reis, os seus príncipes, os seus sacerdotes e os seus profetas, como também os homens de Judá e os moradores de Jerusalém.

³³And they have turned unto me the back, and not the face: though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction.

³³E viraram para mim as costas, e não o rosto; ainda que eu os ensinava, com insistência, eles não deram ouvidos para receberem instrução.

³⁴But they set their abominations in the house, which is called by my name, to defile it.

³⁴Mas puseram as suas abominações na casa que se chama pelo meu nome, para a profanarem.

³⁵And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.

³⁵Também edificaram os altos de Baal, que estão no vale do filho de Hinom, para fazerem passar seus filhos e suas filhas pelo fogo a Moloque; o que nunca lhes ordenei, nem me passou pela mente, que fizessem tal abominação, para fazerem pecar a Judá.

³⁶And now therefore thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning this city, whereof ye say, It shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence;

³⁶E por isso agora assim diz o Senhor, o Deus de Israel, acerca desta cidade, da qual vós dizeis: Já está dada na mão do rei de Babilônia, pela espada, e pela fome, e pela peste:

³⁷Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in mine anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely:

³⁷Eis que eu os congregarei de todos os países para onde os tenho lançado na minha ira, e no meu furor e na minha grande indignação; e os tornarei a trazer a este lugar, e farei que habitem nele seguramente.

³⁸And they shall be my people, and I will be their God:

³⁸E eles serão o meu povo, e eu serei o seu Deus.

³⁹And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:

³⁹E lhes darei um só coração, e um só caminho, para que me temam para sempre, para seu bem e o bem de seus filhos, depois deles;

⁴⁰And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.

⁴⁰e farei com eles um pacto eterno de não me desviar de fazer-lhes o bem; e porei o meu temor no seu coração, para que nunca se apartem de mim.

⁴¹Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.

⁴¹E alegrar-me-ei por causa deles, fazendo-lhes o bem; e os plantarei nesta terra, com toda a fidelidade do meu coração e da minha alma.

⁴²For thus saith the LORD; Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them.

⁴²Pois assim diz o Senhor: Como eu trouxe sobre este povo todo este grande mal, assim eu trarei sobre eles todo o bem que lhes tenho prometido.

⁴³And fields shall be bought in this land, whereof ye say, It is desolate without man or beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.

⁴³E comprar-se-ão campos nesta terra, da qual vós dizeis: E uma desolação, sem homens nem animais; está entregue na mão dos caldeus.

⁴⁴Men shall buy fields for money, and subscribe evidences, and seal them, and take witnesses in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the mountains, and in the cities of the valley, and in the cities of the south: for I will cause their captivity to return, saith the LORD.

⁴⁴Comprarão campos por dinheiro, assinarão escrituras e as selarão, e chamarão testemunhas, na terra de Benjamim, e nos lugares ao redor de Jerusalém, e nas cidades de Judá e nas cidades da região montanhosa, e nas cidades das planícies e nas cidades do Sul porque os farei voltar do cativeiro, diz o Senhor.
