1I AM the man that hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
1Eu sou o homem que viu a aflição causada pela vara do seu furor.
2He hath led me, and brought me into darkness, but not into light.
2Ele me guiou e me fez andar em trevas e não na luz.
3Surely against me is he turned; he turneth his hand against me all the day.
3Deveras fez virar e revirar a sua mão contra mim o dia todo.
4My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones.
4Fez envelhecer a minha carne e a minha pele; quebrou-me os ossos.
5He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.
5Levantou trincheiras contra mim, e me cercou de fel e trabalho.
6He hath set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old.
6Fez-me habitar em lugares tenebrosos, como os que estavam mortos há muito.
7He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.
7Cercou-me de uma sebe de modo que não posso sair; agravou os meus grilhões.
8Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.
8Ainda quando grito e clamo por socorro, ele exclui a minha oração.
9He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked.
9Fechou os meus caminhos com pedras lavradas, fez tortuosas as minhas veredas.
10He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places.
10Fez-se-me como urso de emboscada, um leão em esconderijos.
11He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he hath made me desolate.
11Desviou os meus caminhos, e fez-me em pedaços; deixou-me desolado.
12He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
12Armou o seu arco, e me pôs como alvo � flecha.
13He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.
13Fez entrar nos meus rins as flechas da sua aljava.
14I was a derision to all my people; and their song all the day.
14Fui feito um objeto de escárnio para todo o meu povo, e a sua canção o dia todo.
15He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath made me drunken with wormwood.
15Encheu-me de amarguras, fartou-me de absinto.
16He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes.
16Quebrou com pedrinhas de areia os meus dentes, cobriu-me de cinza.
17And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgat prosperity.
17Alongaste da paz a minha alma; esqueci-me do que seja a felicidade.
18And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD:
18Digo, pois: Já pereceu a minha força, como também a minha esperança no Senhor.
19Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
19Lembra-te da minha aflição e amargura, do absinto e do fel.
20My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
20Minha alma ainda os conserva na memória, e se abate dentro de mim.
21This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
21Torno a trazer isso � mente, portanto tenho esperança.
22It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
22A benignidade do Senhor jamais acaba, as suas misericórdias não têm fim;
23They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
23renovam-se cada manhã. Grande é a tua fidelidade.
24The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
24A minha porção é o Senhor, diz a minha alma; portanto esperarei nele.
25The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
25Bom é o Senhor para os que esperam por ele, para a alma que o busca.
26It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
26Bom é ter esperança, e aguardar em silêncio a salvação do Senhor.
27It is good for a man that he bear the yoke of his youth.
27Bom é para o homem suportar o jugo na sua mocidade.
28He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him.
28Que se assente ele, sozinho, e fique calado, porquanto Deus o pôs sobre ele.
29He putteth his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.
29Ponha a sua boca no pó; talvez ainda haja esperança.
30He giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproach.
30Dê a sua face ao que o fere; farte-se de afronta.
31For the LORD will not cast off for ever:
31Pois o Senhor não rejeitará para sempre.
32But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
32Embora entristeça a alguém, contudo terá compaixão segundo a grandeza da sua misericordia.
33For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.
33Porque não aflige nem entristece de bom grado os filhos dos homens.
34To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth.
34Pisar debaixo dos pés a todos os presos da terra,
35To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High,
35perverter o direito do homem perante a face do Altíssimo,
36To subvert a man in his cause, the LORD approveth not.
36subverter o homem no seu pleito, não são do agrado do senhor.
37Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?
37Quem é aquele que manda, e assim acontece, sem que o Senhor o tenha ordenado?
38Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?
38Não sai da boca do Altíssimo tanto o mal como o bem?
39Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
39Por que se queixaria o homem vivente, o varão por causa do castigo dos seus pecados?
40Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.
40Esquadrinhemos os nossos caminhos, provemo-los, e voltemos para o Senhor.
41Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.
41Levantemos os nossos corações com as mãos para Deus no céu dizendo;
42We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned.
42Nós transgredimos, e fomos rebeldes, e não perdoaste,
43Thou hast covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied.
43Cobriste-te de ira, e nos perseguiste; mataste, não te apiedaste.
44Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through.
44Cobriste-te de nuvens, para que não passe a nossa oração.
45Thou hast made us as the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people.
45Como escória e refugo nos puseste no meio dos povos.
46All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.
46Todos os nossos inimigos abriram contra nós a sua boca.
47Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction.
47Temor e cova vieram sobre nós, assolação e destruição.
48Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
48Torrentes de águas correm dos meus olhos, por causa da destruição da filha do meu povo.
49Mine eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission.
49Os meus olhos derramam lágrimas, e não cessam, sem haver intermissão,
50Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven.
50até que o Senhor atente e veja desde o céu.
51Mine eye affecteth mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.
51Os meus olhos me afligem, por causa de todas as filhas da minha cidade.
52Mine enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without cause.
52Como ave me caçaram os que, sem causa, são meus inimigos.
53They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.
53Atiraram-me vivo na masmorra, e lançaram pedras sobre mim.
54Waters flowed over mine head; then I said, I am cut off.
54Águas correram sobre a minha cabeça; eu disse: Estou cortado.
55I called upon thy name, O LORD, out of the low dungeon.
55Invoquei o teu nome, Senhor, desde a profundeza da masmorra.
56Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.
56Ouviste a minha voz; não escondas o teu ouvido ao meu suspiro, ao meu clamor.
57Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not.
57Tu te aproximaste no dia em que te invoquei; disseste: Não temas.
58O LORD, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.
58Pleiteaste, Senhor, a minha causa; remiste a minha vida.
59O LORD, thou hast seen my wrong: judge thou my cause.
59Viste, Senhor, a injustiça que sofri; julga tu a minha causa.
60Thou hast seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me.
60Viste toda a sua vingança, todos os seus desígnios contra mim.
61Thou hast heard their reproach, O LORD, and all their imaginations against me;
61Ouviste as suas afrontas, Senhor, todos os seus desígnios contra mim,
62The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.
62os lábios e os pensamentos dos que se levantam contra mim o dia todo.
63Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their musick.
63Observa-os ao assentarem-se e ao levantarem-se; eu sou a sua canção.
64Render unto them a recompence, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.
64Tu lhes darás a recompensa, Senhor, conforme a obra das suas mãos.
65Give them sorrow of heart, thy curse unto them.
65Tu lhes darás dureza de coração, maldição tua sobre eles.
66Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the LORD.
66Na tua ira os perseguirás, e os destruirás de debaixo dos teus céus, ó Senhor.
