¹Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.

¹Iată cum trebuie să fim priviţi noi: ca nişte slujitori ai lui Hristos, şi ca nişte ispravnici ai tainelor lui Dumnezeu.

²Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

²Încolo, ce se cere dela ispravnici, este ca fiecare să fie găsit credincios în lucrul încredinţat lui.

³But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.

³Cît despre mine, prea puţin îmi pasă dacă sînt judecat de voi sau de un scaun omenesc de judecată. Ba încă, nici eu însumi nu mă mai judec pe mine.

⁴For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.

⁴Căci n'am nimic împotriva mea; totuş nu pentru aceasta sînt socotit neprihănit: Cel ce mă judecă, este Domnul.

⁵Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

⁵De aceea să nu judecaţi nimic înainte de vreme, pînă va veni Domnul, care va scoate la lumină lucrurile ascunse în întunerec, şi va descoperi gîndurile inimilor. Atunci, fiecare îşi va căpăta lauda dela Dumnezeu.

⁶And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.

⁶Fraţilor, pentru voi am spus aceste lucruri, în icoană de vorbire, cu privire la mine şi la Apolo, ca prin noi înşine, să învăţaţi să nu treceţi peste ,,ce este scris``: şi nici unul din voi să nu se fălească de loc cu unul împotriva celuilalt.

⁷For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?

⁷Căci cine te face deosebit? Ce lucru ai, pe care să nu -l fi primit? Şi dacă l-ai primit, de ce te lauzi ca şi cum nu l-ai fi primit?

⁸Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.

⁸O, iată-vă sătui! Iată-vă ajunşi bogaţi! Iată-vă împărăţind fără noi! Şi măcar de aţi împărăţi cu adevărat ca să putem împărăţi şi noi împreună cu voi!

⁹For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.

⁹Căci parcă Dumnezeu a făcut din noi, apostolii, oamenii cei mai de pe urmă, nişte osîndiţi la moarte; fiindcă am ajuns o privelişte pentru lume, îngeri şi oameni.

¹⁰We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.

¹⁰Noi sîntem nebuni pentru Hristos: voi, înţelepţi în Hristos! Noi, slabi: voi, tari! Voi, puşi în cinste: noi, dispreţuiţi!

¹¹Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace;

¹¹Pînă în clipa aceasta suferim de foame şi de sete, sîntem goi, chinuiţi, umblăm din loc în loc,

¹²And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:

¹²ne ostenim şi lucrăm cu mînile noastre; cînd sîntem ocărîţi, binecuvîntăm; cînd sîntem prigoniţi, răbdăm;

¹³Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.

¹³cînd sîntem vorbiţi de rău, ne rugăm. Pînă în ziua de azi am ajuns ca gunoiul lumii acesteia, ca lepădătura tuturor.

¹⁴I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you.

¹⁴Nu vă scriu aceste lucruri, ca să vă fac ruşine; ci ca să vă sfătuiesc ca pe nişte copii prea iubiţi ai mei.

¹⁵For though ye have ten thousand instructers in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

¹⁵Căci chiar dacă aţi avea zece mii de învăţători în Hristos, totuş n'aveţi mai mulţi părinţi; pentrucă eu v'am născut în Hristos Isus, prin Evanghelie.

¹⁶Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.

¹⁶Deaceea vă rog să călcaţi pe urmele mele.

¹⁷For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.

¹⁷Pentru aceasta v'am trimes pe Timotei, care este copilul meu prea iubit şi credincios în Domnul. El vă va aduce aminte de felul meu de purtare în Hristos şi de felul cum învăţ eu pe oameni pretutindeni în toate Bisericile.

¹⁸Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you.

¹⁸Unii s'au îngîmfat, şi şi-au închipuit că n'am să mai vin la voi.

¹⁹But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power.

¹⁹Dar dacă va voi Domnul, voi veni în curînd la voi, şi atunci voi vedea nu vorbele, ci puterea celorce s'au îngîmfat.

²⁰For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.

²⁰Căci Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu nu stă în vorbe, ci în putere.

²¹What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?

²¹Ce voiţi? Să vin la voi cu nuiaua, sau cu dragoste şi cu duhul blîndeţei?
