¹This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.

¹Vin la voi pentru a treia oară. ,,Orice vorbă să fie sprijinită pe mărturia a doi sau trei martori.``

²I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare:

²Cum am spus, cînd am fost de faţă a doua oară, tot aşa şi azi, cînd nu sînt de faţă, spun iarăş mai dinainte celor ce au păcătuit mai înainte, şi tuturor celorlalţi, că, dacă mă voi întoarce la voi, n'am să cruţ deloc;

³Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you.

³căci căutaţi o dovadă că Hristos vorbeşte în mine: El care nu este slab faţă de voi, ci este plin de putere între voi.

⁴For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.

⁴În adevăr El a fost răstignit prin slăbiciune; dar trăieşte prin puterea lui Dumnezeu. Tot astfel şi noi sîntem slabi în El, dar, prin puterea lui Dumnezeu, vom fi plini de viaţă cu El faţă de voi.

⁵Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

⁵Pe voi înşivă încercaţi-vă dacă sînteţi în credinţă. Pe voi înşivă cercaţi-vă. Nu recunoaşteţi voi că Isus Hristos este în voi? Afară numai dacă sînteţi lepădaţi.

⁶But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.

⁶Dar trag nădejde că veţi recunoaşte că noi nu sîntem lepădaţi.

⁷Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates.

⁷Totuş ne rugăm lui Dumnezeu să nu faceţi nimic rău; nu pentru ca să ne putem arăta noi înşine primiţi, ci ca să faceţi ce este bine, chiar dacă noi am trece drept lepădaţi.

⁸For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.

⁸Căci n'avem nici o putere împotriva adevărului ci pentru adevăr.

⁹For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.

⁹În adevăr, ne bucurăm cînd noi sîntem slabi, iar voi sînteţi tari; şi ne rugăm pentru desăvîrşirea voastră.

¹⁰Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to edification, and not to destruction.

¹⁰Tocmai de aceea vă scriu aceste lucruri, cînd nu sînt de faţă, pentruca, atunci cînd voi fi de faţă, să nu mă port cu asprime, potrivit cu puterea pe care mi -a dat -o Domnul pentru zidire, iar nu pentru dărîmare.

¹¹Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

¹¹Încolo, fraţilor, fiţi sănătoşi, desăvîrşiţi-vă, îmbărbătaţi-vă, fiţi cu un cuget, trăiţi în pace, şi Dumnezeul dragostei şi al păcii va fi cu voi.

¹²Greet one another with an holy kiss.

¹²Spuneţi-vă unii altora sănătate, cu o sărutare sfîntă.

¹³All the saints salute you.

¹³Toţi sfinţii vă trimet sănătate.

¹⁴The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

¹⁴Harul Domnului Isus Hristos, şi dragostea lui Dumnezeu, şi împărtăşirea Sfîntului Duh, să fie cu voi cu toţi! Amin
