¹And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.

¹Apostolii şi fraţii, cari erau în Iudea, au auzit că şi Neamurile au primit Cuvîntul lui Dumnezeu.

²And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him,

²Şi cînd s'a suit Petru la Ierusalim, îl mustrau cei tăiaţi împrejur,

³Saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them.

³şi ziceau: ,,Ai intrat în casă la nişte oameni netăiaţi împrejur, şi ai mîncat cu ei.``

⁴But Peter rehearsed the matter from the beginning, and expounded it by order unto them, saying,

⁴Petru a început să le spună pe rînd cele întîmplate. El a zis:

⁵I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me:

⁵,,Eram în cetatea Iope; şi, pe cînd mă rugam, am căzut într'o răpire sufletească, şi am avut o vedenie: un vas ca o faţă de masă mare, legată cu cele patru colţuri, se cobora din cer, şi a venit pînă la mine.

⁶Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

⁶Cînd m'am uitat în ea, am văzut dobitoacele cu patru picioare de pe pămînt, fiarele, tîrîtoarele şi păsările cerului.

⁷And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat.

⁷Şi am auzit un glas, care mi -a zis: ,Petre, scoală-te, taie şi mănînîncă.`

⁸But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.

⁸Dar eu am răspuns: ,Nicidecum, Doamne, căci nimic spurcat sau necurat n'a intrat vreodată în gura mea.`

⁹But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

⁹Şi glasul mi -a zis a doua oară din cer: ,Ce a curăţit Dumnezeu, să nu numeşti spurcat.`

¹⁰And this was done three times: and all were drawn up again into heaven.

¹⁰Lucrul acesta s'a făcut de trei ori; apoi toate au fost ridicate iarăş în cer.

¹¹And, behold, immediately there were three men already come unto the house where I was, sent from Caesarea unto me.

¹¹Şi iată că îndată, trei oameni trimeşi din Cezarea la mine, au stătut la poarta casei, în care eram.

¹²And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered into the man's house:

¹²Duhul mi -a spus să plec cu ei, fără să fac vreo deosebire. Aceşti şase fraţi m'au însoţit şi ei, şi am intrat în casa omului.

¹³And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter;

¹³El ne -a istorisit cum a văzut în casa lui pe înger stînd înaintea lui, şi zicîndu -i: ,Trimete la Iope, şi cheamă pe Simon, zis şi Petru,

¹⁴Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.

¹⁴care-ţi va spune cuvinte prin cari vei fi mîntuit tu şi toată casa ta.`

¹⁵And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.

¹⁵Şi, cum am început să vorbesc, Duhul Sfînt S'a pogorît peste ei ca şi peste noi la început.

¹⁶Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

¹⁶Şi mi-am adus aminte de vorba Domnului, cum a zis: ,Ioan a botezat cu apă, dar voi veţi fi botezaţi cu Duhul Sfînt.`

¹⁷Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

¹⁷Deci, dacă Dumnezeu le -a dat acelaş dar, ca şi nouă, cari am crezut în Domnul Isus Hristos, cine eram eu să mă împotrivesc lui Dumnezeu?``

¹⁸When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

¹⁸Dupăce au auzit aceste lucruri, s'au potolit, au slăvit pe Dumnezeu, şi au zis: ,,Dumnezeu a dat deci şi Neamurilor pocăinţă, ca să aibă viaţa.``

¹⁹Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.

¹⁹Ceice se împrăştiaseră, din pricina prigonirii întîmplate cu prilejul lui Ştefan, au ajuns pînă în Fenicia, în Cipru şi în Antiohia, şi propovăduiau Cuvîntul numai Iudeilor.

²⁰And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the LORD Jesus.

²⁰Totuş printre ei au fost cîţiva oameni din Cipru şi din Cirena, cari au venit în Antiohia, au vorbit şi Grecilor, şi le-au propovăduit Evanghelia Domnului Isus.

²¹And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.

²¹Mîna Domnului era cu ei, şi un mare număr de oameni au crezut şi s'au întors la Domnul.

²²Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.

²²Vestea despre ei a ajuns la urechile Bisericii din Ierusalim, şi au trimes pe Barnaba pînă la Antiohia.

²³Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.

²³Cînd a ajuns el, şi a văzut harul lui Dumnezeu, s'a bucurat, şi i -a îndemnat pe toţi să rămînă cu inimă hotărîtă alipiţi de Domnul.

²⁴For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

²⁴Căci Barnaba era un om de bine, plin de Duhul Sfînt şi de credinţă. Şi destul de mult norod s'a adaos la Domnul.

²⁵Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul:

²⁵Barnaba s'a dus apoi la Tars, ca să caute pe Saul;

²⁶And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

²⁶şi, cînd l -a găsit, l -a adus la Antiohia. Un an întreg, au luat parte la adunările Bisericii, şi au învăţat pe mulţi oameni. Pentru întîiaş dată, ucenicilor li s'a dat numele de creştini în Antiohia.

²⁷And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.

²⁷În vremea aceea, s'au pogorît nişte prooroci din Ierusalim la Antiohia.

²⁸And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.

²⁸Unul din ei, numit Agab, s'a sculat şi a vestit, prin Duhul, că va fi o foamete mare în toată lumea. Şi a fost, în adevăr, în zilele împăratului Claudiu.

²⁹Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:

²⁹Ucenicii au hotărît să trimeată, fiecare după puterea lui, un ajutor fraţilor, cari locuiau în Iudea,

³⁰Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

³⁰ceeace au şi făcut; şi au trimes acest ajutor la presbiteri (Sau: bătrîni.) prin mîna lui Barnaba şi a lui Saul.
