¹And after the uproar was ceased, Paul called unto him the disciples, and embraced them, and departed for to go into Macedonia.

¹Cînd a încetat zarva, Pavel a chemat pe ucenici, şi, dupăce le -a dat sfaturi, şi -a luat ziua bună dela ei, şi a plecat în Macedonia.

²And when he had gone over those parts, and had given them much exhortation, he came into Greece,

²A străbătut ţinutul acesta, şi a dat ucenicilor o mulţime de sfaturi. Apoi a venit în Grecia,

³And there abode three months. And when the Jews laid wait for him, as he was about to sail into Syria, he purposed to return through Macedonia.

³unde a rămas trei luni. Era gata să plece cu corabia în Siria, dar Iudeii i-au întins curse. Atunci s'a hotărît să se întoarcă prin Macedonia.

⁴And there accompanied him into Asia Sopater of Berea; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timotheus; and of Asia, Tychicus and Trophimus.

⁴Avea ca tovarăşi pînă în Asia pe: Sopater din Berea, fiul lui Pir, Aristarh şi Secund din Tesalonic, Gaiu din Derbe, Timotei, precum şi Tihic şi Trofim cari erau din Asia.

⁵These going before tarried for us at Troas.

⁵Aceştia au luat -o înainte, şi ne-au aşteptat la Troa.

⁶And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days.

⁶Iar noi, după zilele praznicului Azimilor, am plecat cu corabia din Filipi, şi, în cinci zile, am ajuns la ei în Troa, unde am stat şapte zile.

⁷And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

⁷În ziua dintîi a săptămînii, eram adunaţi la olaltă ca să frîngem pînea. Pavel, care trebuia să plece a doua zi, vorbea ucenicilor, şi şi -a lungit vorbirea pînă la miezul nopţii.

⁸And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together.

⁸În odaia de sus, unde eram adunaţi, erau multe lumini.

⁹And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.

⁹Şi un tînăr, numit Eutih, care şedea pe fereastră, a adormit deabinelea în timpul lungei vorbiri a lui Pavel; biruit de somn, a căzut jos din catul al treilea, şi a fost ridicat mort.

¹⁰And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.

¹⁰Dar Pavel s'a pogorît, s'a repezit spre el, l -a luat în braţe, şi a zis: ,,Nu vă tulburaţi, căci sufletul lui este în el.``

¹¹When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed.

¹¹După ce s'a suit iarăş, a frînt pînea, a cinat, şi a mai vorbit multă vreme pînă la ziuă. Apoi a plecat.

¹²And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.

¹²Flăcăul a fost adus viu, şi lucrul acesta a fost pricina unei mari mîngîieri.

¹³And we went before to ship, and sailed unto Assos, there intending to take in Paul: for so had he appointed, minding himself to go afoot.

¹³Noi am venit înaintea lui Pavel la corabie, şi am plecat cu corabia la Asos, unde ne învoiserăm să ne întîlnim din nou; pentrucă el trebuia să facă drumul pe jos.

¹⁴And when he met with us at Assos, we took him in, and came to Mitylene.

¹⁴Cînd s'a întîlnit cu noi în Asos, l-am luat în corabie, şi ne-am dus la Mitilene.

¹⁵And we sailed thence, and came the next day over against Chios; and the next day we arrived at Samos, and tarried at Trogyllium; and the next day we came to Miletus.

¹⁵De aici am mers pe mare, şi a doua zi am ajuns în faţa insulei Chios. În ziua următoare, deabea am atins Samos, ne-am oprit în Troghilion, şi a doua zi am venit la Milet.

¹⁶For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.

¹⁶Pavel se hotărîse să treacă pe lîngă Efes, fără să se oprească aici, ca să nu peardă vremea în Asia; căci se grăbea ca, dacă -i va fi cu putinţă, să fie în Ierusalim de ziua Cincizecimii.

¹⁷And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church.

¹⁷Însă din Milet, Pavel a trimes la Efes, şi a chemat pe presbiterii Bisericii.

¹⁸And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons,

¹⁸Cînd au venit la el, le -a zis: ,,Ştiţi cum m'am purtat cu voi în toată vremea, din ziua dintîi, în care am pus piciorul pe pămîntul Asiei.

¹⁹Serving the LORD with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:

¹⁹Am slujit Domnului cu toată smerenia, cu multe lacrămi, şi în mijlocul încercărilor, pe cari mi le ridicau uneltirile Iudeilor.

²⁰And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,

²⁰Ştiţi că n'am ascuns nimic din ce vă era de folos, şi nu m'am temut să vă propovăduiesc şi să vă învăţ înaintea norodului şi în case,

²¹Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

²¹şi să vestesc Iudeilor şi Grecilor: pocăinţa faţă de Dumnezeu şi credinţa în Domnul nostru Isus Hristos.

²²And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:

²²Şi acum, iată că, împins de duhul, mă duc la Ierusalim, fără să ştiu ce mi se va întîmpla acolo.

²³Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.

²³Numai, Duhul Sfînt mă înştiinţează din cetate în cetate că mă aşteaptă lanţuri şi necazuri.

²⁴But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

²⁴Dar eu nu ţin numai decît la viaţa mea, ca şi cum mi-ar fi scumpă, ci vreau numai să-mi sfîrşesc cu bucurie calea şi slujba, pe care am primit -o dela Domnul Isus, ca să vestesc Evaghelia harului lui Dumnezeu.

²⁵And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.

²⁵Şi acum, ştiu că nu-mi veţi mai vedea faţa, voi toţi aceia, în mijlocul cărora am umblat propovăduind Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu.

²⁶Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.

²⁶De aceea vă mărturisesc astăzi, că sînt curat de sîngele tuturor.

²⁷For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

²⁷Căci nu m'am ferit să vă vestesc tot planul lui Dumnezeu.

²⁸Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

²⁸Luaţi seama dar la voi înşivă şi la toată turma peste care v'a pus Duhul Sfînt episcopi (Sau: priveghetori.), ca să păstoriţi Biserica Domnului, pe care a cîştigat -o cu însuş sîngele Său.

²⁹For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

²⁹Ştiu bine că, după plecarea mea, se vor vîrî între voi lupi răpitori, cari nu vor cruţa turma;

³⁰Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

³⁰şi se vor scula din mijlocul vostru oameni, cari vor învăţa lucruri stricăcioase, ca să tragă pe ucenici de partea lor.

³¹Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

³¹De aceea vegheaţi, şi aduceţi-vă aminte că, timp de trei ani, zi şi nopate, n'am încetat să sfătuiesc cu lacrămi pe fiecare din voi.

³²And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

³²Şi acum, fraţilor, vă încredinţez în mîna lui Dumnezeu şi a Cuvîntului harului Său, care vă poate zidi sufleteşte, şi vă poate da moştenirea împreună cu toţi cei sfinţiţi.

³³I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel.

³³N'am rîvnit nici la argintul, nici la aurul, nici la hainele cuiva.

³⁴Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.

³⁴Singuri ştiţi că mînile acestea au lucrat pentru trebuinţele mele şi ale celor ce erau cu mine.

³⁵I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

³⁵În toate privinţele v'am dat o pildă, şi v'am arătat că, lucrînd astfel, trebuie să ajutaţi pe cei slabi, şi să vă aduceţi aminte de cuvintele Domnului Isus, care însuş a zis: ,Este mai ferice să dai decît să primeşti.``

³⁶And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.

³⁶După ce a vorbit asfel, a îngenuncheat, şi s'a rugat împreună cu ei toţi.

³⁷And they all wept sore, and fell on Paul's neck, and kissed him,

³⁷Şi au izbucnit cu toţii în lacrămi, au căzut pe grumazul lui Pavel, şi l-au sărutat.

³⁸Sorrowing most of all for the words which he spake, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him unto the ship.

³⁸Căci erau întristaţi mai ales de vorba, pe care le -o spusese el, că nu -i vor mai vedea faţa. Şi l-au petrecut pînă la corabie.
