¹And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.

¹Domnul a zis lui Moise: ,,Iată că te fac Dumnezeu pentru Faraon; şi fratele tău Aaron va fi proorocul tău.

²Thou shalt speak all that I command thee: and Aaron thy brother shall speak unto Pharaoh, that he send the children of Israel out of his land.

²Tu vei spune tot ce-ţi voi porunci Eu, iar fratele tău Aaron va vorbi lui Faraon, ca să lase pe copiii lui Israel să plece din ţara lui.

³And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.

³Eu voi împietri inima lui Faraon, şi Îmi voi înmulţi semnele şi minunile în ţara Egiptului.

⁴But Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you, that I may lay my hand upon Egypt, and bring forth mine armies, and my people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments.

⁴Totuş Faraon n'are să v'asculte. Apoi Îmi voi întinde mîna asupra Egiptului, şi voi scoate din ţara Egiptului oştile Mele, pe poporul Meu, pe copiii lui Israel, prin mari judecăţi.

⁵And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I stretch forth mine hand upon Egypt, and bring out the children of Israel from among them.

⁵Egiptenii vor cunoaşte că Eu sînt Domnul, cînd Îmi voi întinde mîna asupra Egiptului, şi cînd voi scoate din mijlocul lor pe copiii lui Israel.``

⁶And Moses and Aaron did as the LORD commanded them, so did they.

⁶Moise şi Aaron au făcut ce le poruncise Domnul: aşa au făcut.

⁷And Moses was fourscore years old, and Aaron fourscore and three years old, when they spake unto Pharaoh.

⁷Moise era în vîrstă de optzeci de ani, iar Aaron de optzeci şi trei de ani, cînd au vorbit lui Faraon.

⁸And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

⁸Domnul a zis lui Moise şi lui Aaron:

⁹When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Show a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent.

⁹,,Dacă vă va vorbi Faraon, şi vă va zice: ,Faceţi o minune!` să zici lui Aaron: ,Ia-ţi toiagul, şi aruncă -l înaintea lui Faraon. Şi toiagul se va preface într'un şarpe.``

¹⁰And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent.

¹⁰Moise şi Aaron s'au dus la Faraon, şi au făcut cum poruncise Domnul. Aaron şi -a aruncat toiagul înaintea lui Faraon şi înaintea slujitorilor lui; şi toiagul s'a prefăcut într-un şarpe.

¹¹Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments.

¹¹Dar Faraon a chemat pe nişte înţelepţi şi pe nişte vrăjitori, şi vrăjitorii Egiptului au făcut şi ei la fel prin vrăjitoriile lor.

¹²For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods.

¹²Toţi şi-au aruncat toiegele, şi s'au prefăcut în şerpi. Dar toiagul lui Aaron a înghiţit toiegele lor.

¹³And he hardened Pharaoh's heart, that he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.

¹³Inima lui Faraon s'a împietrit, şi n'a ascultat de Moise şi de Aaron, după cum spusese Domnul.

¹⁴And the LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh's heart is hardened, he refuseth to let the people go.

¹⁴Domnul a zis lui Moise: ,,Faraon are inima împietrită: nu vrea să lase poporul să plece.

¹⁵Get thee unto Pharaoh in the morning; lo, he goeth out unto the water; and thou shalt stand by the river's brink against he come; and the rod which was turned to a serpent shalt thou take in thine hand.

¹⁵Du-te la Faraon dis de dimineaţă, cînd are să iasă să se ducă la apă, şi să te înfăţişezi înaintea lui pe malul rîului. Să-ţi iei în mînă toiagul, care a fost prefăcut în şarpe,

¹⁶And thou shalt say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee, saying, Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness: and, behold, hitherto thou wouldest not hear.

¹⁶şi să zici lui Faraon: ,Domnul, Dumnezeul Evreilor, m'a trimes la tine, să-ţi spun: ,Lasă pe poporul Meu să plece, ca să-Mi slujească în pustie. Dar iată că pînă acum n'ai ascultat.`

¹⁷Thus saith the LORD, In this thou shalt know that I am the LORD: behold, I will smite with the rod that is in mine hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.

¹⁷Acum, aşa vorbeşte Domnul: ,Iată cum vei cunoaşte că Eu sînt Domnul. Am să lovesc apele rîului cu toiagul din mîna mea; şi ele se vor preface în sînge.

¹⁸And the fish that is in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall loathe to drink of the water of the river.

¹⁸Peştii din rîu vor pieri, rîul se va împuţi, aşa că le va fi greaţă Egiptenilor să bea din apa rîului.``

¹⁹And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch out thine hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their streams, upon their rivers, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, that they may become blood; and that there may be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood, and in vessels of stone.

¹⁹Domnul a zis lui Moise: ,,Spune lui Aaron: ,Ia-ţi toiagul, şi întinde-ţi mîna peste apele Egiptenilor, peste rîurile lor, peste pîraiele lor, peste iazurile lor, şi peste toate bălţile lor. Ele se vor preface în sînge; şi va fi sînge în toată ţara Egiptului, atît în vasele de lemn cît şi în vasele de piatră.``

²⁰And Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.

²⁰Moise şi Aaron au făcut cum le poruncise Domnul. Aaron a ridicat toiagul, şi a lovit apele rîului, subt ochii lui Faraon şi subt ochii slujitorilor lui; şi toate apele rîului s'au prefăcut în sînge.

²¹And the fish that was in the river died; and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink of the water of the river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.

²¹Peştii din rîu au pierit, rîul s'a împuţit, aşa că Egiptenii nu mai puteau să bea apa rîului, şi a fost sînge în toată ţara Egiptului.

²²And the magicians of Egypt did so with their enchantments: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, neither did he hearken unto them; as the LORD had said.

²²Dar vrăjitorii Egiptului au făcut şi ei la fel prin vrăjitoriile lor. Inima lui Faraon s'a împietrit, şi n'a ascultat de Moise şi de Aaron, după cum spusese Domnul.

²³And Pharaoh turned and went into his house, neither did he set his heart to this also.

²³Faraon s'a întors dela rîu, şi s'a dus acasă; dar nu şi -a pus la inimă aceste lucruri.

²⁴And all the Egyptians digged round about the river for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the river.

²⁴Toţi Egiptenii au săpat în împrejurimile rîului, ca să găsească apă de băut; căci nu puteau să bea din apa rîului.

²⁵And seven days were fulfilled, after that the LORD had smitten the river.

²⁵Au trecut şapte zile, după ce a lovit Domnul rîul.
