¹The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,

¹Cuvîntul Domnului mi -a vorbit astfel:

²Now, thou son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyrus;

²,,Şi tu, fiul omului, rosteşte această cîntare de jale asupra Tirului!

³And say unto Tyrus, O thou that art situate at the entry of the sea, which art a merchant of the people for many isles, Thus saith the Lord GOD; O Tyrus, thou hast said, I am of perfect beauty.

³Spune Tirului: ,Tu, care stai pe malul mării, şi faci negoţ cu popoarele unui mare număr de ostroave, aşa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeu: ,Tirule, tu ziceai: ,Eu sînt de o desăvîrşită frumuseţă!`

⁴Thy borders are in the midst of the seas, thy builders have perfected thy beauty.

⁴Ţinutul tău este în inima mărilor, şi cei ce te-au zidit te-au făcut desăvîrşit de frumos.

⁵They have made all thy ship boards of fir trees of Senir: they have taken cedars from Lebanon to make masts for thee.

⁵Cu chiparoşi din Senir ţi-au făcut toate laturile corăbiilor. Au luat cedri din Liban, ca să-ţi ridice catargurile;

⁶Of the oaks of Bashan have they made thine oars; the company of the Ashurites have made thy benches of ivory, brought out of the isles of Chittim.

⁶lopeţile ţi le-au făcut din stejari de Basan, şi laviţele cu fildeş prins în cimişir, adus din ostroavele Chitim.

⁷Fine linen with broidered work from Egypt was that which thou spreadest forth to be thy sail; blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was that which covered thee.

⁷Pînzele cari-ţi slujeau ca steag erau de in subţire din Egipt, cusut la gherghef, iar învelitoarea ta era de purpură albastră şi roşie, din ostroavele Elişei.

⁸The inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad were thy mariners: thy wise men, O Tyrus, that were in thee, were thy pilots.

⁸Locuitorii Sidonului şi Arvadului îţi erau vîslaşi, şi cei mai înţelepţi din mijlocul tău, Tirule, îţi erau cîrmaci.

⁹The ancients of Gebal and the wise men thereof were in thee thy calkers: all the ships of the sea with their mariners were in thee to occupy thy merchandise.

⁹Bătrînii Ghebalului şi lucrătorii lui iscusiţi erau la tine, şi-ţi dregeau crăpăturile. Toate corăbiile mării cu marinarii lor erau la tine, ca să facă schimb de mărfuri cu tine.

¹⁰They of Persia and of Lud and of Phut were in thine army, thy men of war: they hanged the shield and helmet in thee; they set forth thy comeliness.

¹⁰Cei din Persia, din Lud şi din Put, slujeau în oastea ta, ca oameni de război; ei îşi spînzurau în tine scutul şi coiful, şi-ţi dădeau strălucire.

¹¹The men of Arvad with thine army were upon thy walls round about, and the Gammadims were in thy towers: they hanged their shields upon thy walls round about; they have made thy beauty perfect.

¹¹Cei din Arvad îţi umpleau zidurile cu războinicii tăi, şi oamenii viteji erau în turnurile tale. Ei îşi atîrnau pavezele pe toate zidurile tale, şi-ţi desăvîrşeau astfel frumuseţa.

¹²Tarshish was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of all kind of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded in thy fairs.

¹²Cei din Tars făceau negoţ cu tine, cu tot felul de mărfuri pe cari le aveai din belşug. Veneau la tîrgul tău cu argint, cu fer, cu cositor şi cu plumb.

¹³Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were thy merchants: they traded the persons of men and vessels of brass in thy market.

¹³Iavanul, Tubalul şi Meşecul făceau negoţ cu tine; dădeau robi şi unelte de aramă în schimbul mărfurilor tale.

¹⁴They of the house of Togarmah traded in thy fairs with horses and horsemen and mules.

¹⁴Cei din casa Togarmei aduceau la tîrgul tău cai, călăreţi şi catîri.

¹⁵The men of Dedan were thy merchants; many isles were the merchandise of thine hand: they brought thee for a present horns of ivory and ebony.

¹⁵Cei din Dedan făceau negoţ cu tine; negoţul multor ostroave trecea prin mînile tale; îţi aduceau ca bir coarne de fildeş şi de abanos.

¹⁶Syria was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of the wares of thy making: they occupied in thy fairs with emeralds, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and agate.

¹⁶Siria făcea negoţ cu tine, cu marele număr de lucruri făcute de tine; ei veneau la tîrgul tău de smaragd, purpură, şi materii pestriţe cu in supţire, mărgean şi agat.

¹⁷Judah, and the land of Israel, they were thy merchants: they traded in thy market wheat of Minnith, and Pannag, and honey, and oil, and balm.

¹⁷Iuda şi ţara lui Israel făceau negoţ cu tine; îţi dădeau grîu de Minit, turte, miere, untdelemn şi leac alinător, în schimbul mărfurilor tale.

¹⁸Damascus was thy merchant in the multitude of the wares of thy making, for the multitude of all riches; in the wine of Helbon, and white wool.

¹⁸Damascul făcea negoţ cu tine, cu marele număr de lucruri făcute de tine, cu tot felul de mărfuri, pe cari le aveai din belşug; îţi dădea vin din Helbon şi lînă albă.

¹⁹Dan also and Javan going to and fro occupied in thy fairs: bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were in thy market.

¹⁹Vedanul şi Iavanul, dela Uzal, veneau la tîrgul tău; fer lucrat, casie şi trestie mirositoare, erau schimbate cu tine.

²⁰Dedan was thy merchant in precious clothes for chariots.

²⁰Dedanul făcea negoţ cu tine cu învelitori de pus pe cal.

²¹Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar, they occupied with thee in lambs, and rams, and goats: in these were they thy merchants.

²¹Arabia şi toţi voivozii Chedarului erau negustorii tăi, şi-ţi aduceau miei, berbeci şi ţapi.

²²The merchants of Sheba and Raamah, they were thy merchants: they occupied in thy fairs with chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold.

²²Negustorii din Seba şi din Raema făceau negoţ cu tine; îţi plăteau cu cele mai bune mirezme, cu pietre scumpe şi aur, mărfurile tale.

²³Haran, and Canneh, and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur, and Chilmad, were thy merchants.

²³Haranul, Canehul şi Edenul, negustorii din Seba, din Asiria, din Chilmad, făceau negoţ cu tine;

²⁴These were thy merchants in all sorts of things, in blue clothes, and broidered work, and in chests of rich apparel, bound with cords, and made of cedar, among thy merchandise.

²⁴făceau negoţ cu tine de haine scumpe, de mantale de purpură albastră şi cusături la gherghef, de covoare scumpe puse în lăzi de funii, sucite şi bine împletite, aduse la tîrgul tău.

²⁵The ships of Tarshish did sing of thee in thy market: and thou wast replenished, and made very glorious in the midst of the seas.

²⁵Corăbiile din Tars îţi aduceau mărfurile pe mare; erai în culmea bogăţiei şi slavei, în inima mărilor! -

²⁶Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the midst of the seas.

²⁶Vîslaşii tăi te duceau pe ape mari: dar un vînt dela răsărit te va sfărîma în inima mărilor!

²⁷Thy riches, and thy fairs, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy calkers, and the occupiers of thy merchandise, and all thy men of war, that are in thee, and in all thy company which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the midst of the seas in the day of thy ruin.

²⁷Bogăţiile tale, tîrgurile tale şi mărfurile tale, marinarii şi cîrmacii tăi, ceice îţi dreg crăpăturile corăbiilor, şi ceice fac schimb de mărfuri cu tine, toţi oamenii de război cari sînt în tine, şi toată mulţimea, care este în mijlocul tău, se vor prăbuşi în inima mărilor, în ziua căderii tale.

²⁸The suburbs shall shake at the sound of the cry of thy pilots.

²⁸Toate valurile mării se vor cutremura de ţipetele cîrmacilor tăi!

²⁹And all that handle the oar, the mariners, and all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships, they shall stand upon the land;

²⁹Şi toţi vîslaşii, marinarii, toţi cîrmacii de pe mare, se vor da jos din corăbii şi vor păşi pe uscat.

³⁰And shall cause their voice to be heard against thee, and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast up dust upon their heads, they shall wallow themselves in the ashes:

³⁰Vor striga cu glas tare din pricina ta, şi vor scoate ţipete amarnice. Îşi vor arunca ţărînă în cap şi se vor tăvăli în cenuşă.

³¹And they shall make themselves utterly bald for thee, and gird them with sackcloth, and they shall weep for thee with bitterness of heart and bitter wailing.

³¹Îşi vor rade capul din pricina ta, şi se vor îmbrăca în saci, te vor plînge cu sufletul amărît, şi cu mîhnire mare.

³²And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, saying, What city is like Tyrus, like the destroyed in the midst of the sea?

³²În durerea lor, vor face un cîntec de jale asupra ta, te vor boci, şi vor zice: ,,Cine era ca Tirul, cel nimicit în mijlocul mării?``

³³When thy wares went forth out of the seas, thou filledst many people; thou didst enrich the kings of the earth with the multitude of thy riches and of thy merchandise.

³³Cînd ieşeau mărfurile tale pe mări, săturai un mare număr de popoare; cu belşugul avuţiilor şi mărfurilor tale, îmbogăţeai pe împăraţii pămîntului.

³⁴In the time when thou shalt be broken by the seas in the depths of the waters thy merchandise and all thy company in the midst of thee shall fall.

³⁴Acum însă eşti sfărîmat de mări, negoţul tău a pierit în adîncimea apelor, şi toată mulţimea ta de oameni s'a cufundat odată cu tine!

³⁵All the inhabitants of the isles shall be astonished at thee, and their kings shall be sore afraid, they shall be troubled in their countenance.

³⁵Toţi locuitorii ostroavelor stau înmărmuriţi din pricina ta, împăraţii lor stau cu părul vîlvoi de groază, şi le tremură faţa!

³⁶The merchants among the people shall hiss at thee; thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt be any more.

³⁶Negustorii popoarelor fluieră asupra ta! Eşti nimicit de tot, şi te-ai dus pentru totdeauna!``
