¹Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel.

¹El mi -a zis: ,,Fiul omului, mănîncă ce vei găsi înaintea ta, mănîncă sulul acesta, şi du-te de vorbeşte casei lui Israel!``

²So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.

²Am deschis gura, şi mi -a dat să mănînc sulul acesta.

³And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

³El mi -a zis: ,,Fiul omului, hrăneşte-ţi trupul şi umple-ţi măruntaiele cu sulul acesta, pe care ţi -l dau!`` -L-am mîncat, şi în gura mea a fost dulce ca mierea.

⁴And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.

⁴El mi -a zis: ,,Fiul omului, du-te la casa lui Israel, şi spune-le cuvintele Mele!

⁵For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel;

⁵Căci nu eşti trimes la un popor cu o vorbire încurcată şi cu o limbă greoaie, ci la casa lui Israel.

⁶Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.

⁶Nu la nişte popoare mari, cu o vorbire încurcată şi cu o limbă greoaie, ale căror cuvinte să nu le poţi pricepe. Negreşit dacă te-aş trimete la ele, te-ar asculta!

⁷But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.

⁷Dar casa lui Israel nu va voi să te asculte, pentrucă nu vrea să M'asculte; căci toată casa lui Israel are fruntea încruntată şi inima împietrită.

⁸Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.

⁸Iată, îţi voi face faţa tot aşa de aspră ca şi feţele lor, şi fruntea tot aşa de aspră ca fruntea lor.

⁹As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

⁹Îţi voi face fruntea ca un diamant, mai aspră decît stînca. Nu te teme şi nu te speria de ei, căci sînt o casă de îndărătnici!``

¹⁰Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears.

¹⁰El mi -a zis: ,,Fiul omului, primeşte în inima ta şi ascultă cu urechile tale toate cuvintele pe cari ţi le spun!

¹¹And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear.

¹¹Du-te la prinşii de război, la copiii poporului tău: vorbeşte-le, şi, fie că vor asculta, fie că nu vor asculta, să le spui: ,Aşa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeu!`

¹²Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of the LORD from his place.

¹²Şi Duhul m'a răpit, şi am auzit înapoia mea dîrdăitul unui mare cutremur de pămînt: slava Domnului s'a ridicat din locul ei.

¹³I heard also the noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels over against them, and a noise of a great rushing.

¹³Am auzit şi vîjăitul aripilor făpturilor vii, cari se loveau una de alta, uruitul roatelor de lîngă ele, şi dîrdăitul unui mare cutremur de pămînt.

¹⁴So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.

¹⁴Cînd m'a răpit Duhul şi m'a luat, mergeam amărît şi mînios, şi mîna Domnului apăsa tare peste mine.

¹⁵Then I came to them of the captivity at Telabib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.

¹⁵Am ajuns la Tel-Abib, la robii de război cari locuiau la rîul Chebar, în locul unde se aflau; şi am rămas acolo, înmărmurit în mijlocul lor, şapte zile.

¹⁶And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

¹⁶După şapte zile, Cuvîntul Domnului mi -a vorbit astfel:

¹⁷Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

¹⁷,,Fiul omului, te pun păzitor peste casa lui Israel. Cînd vei auzi un cuvînt, care va ieşi din gura Mea, să -i înştiinţezi din partea Mea!

¹⁸When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

¹⁸Cînd voi zice celui rău: ,Vei muri negreşit!`, dacă nu -l vei înştiinţa, şi nu -i vei spune, ca să -l întorci dela calea lui cea rea şi să -i scapi viaţa, acel om rău va muri prin nelegiuirea lui, dar îi voi cere sîngele din mîna ta!

¹⁹Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

¹⁹Dar dacă vei înştiinţa pe cel rău, şi el tot nu se va întoarce dela răutatea lui şi dela calea cea rea, va muri prin nelegiuirea lui, dat tu îţi vei mîntui sufletul!

²⁰Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

²⁰Dacă un om neprihănit se va abate de la neprihănirea lui şi va face ce este rău, îi voi pune un laţ înainte, şi va muri. Dacă nu l-ai înştiinţat, va muri prin păcatul lui şi nu i se va mai pomeni neprihănirea, în care a trăit, dar îi voi cere sîngele din mîna ta!

²¹Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

²¹Dar dacă vei înştiinţa pe cel neprihănit să nu păcătuiască, şi nu va păcătui, va trăi, pentrucă a primit înştiinţarea, iar tu îţi vei mîntui sufletul!``

²²And the hand of the LORD was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with thee.

²²Şi mîna Domnului a venit peste mine acolo, şi mi -a zis: ,,Scoală-te, du-te în vale, şi acolo îţi voi vorbi!``

²³Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of the LORD stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chebar: and I fell on my face.

²³M'am sculat, şi m'am dus în vale; şi iată că slava Domnului s'a arătat acolo, aşa cum o văzusem la rîul Chebar. Atunci am căzut cu faţa la pămînt.

²⁴Then the spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thine house.

²⁴Duhul a intrat în mine, şi m'a făcut să stau pe picioare. Şi Domnul mi -a vorbit şi mi -a zis: ,,Du-te şi închide-te în casă!``

²⁵But thou, O son of man, behold, they shall put bands upon thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go out among them:

²⁵Căci iată, fiul omului, vor pune peste tine funii, cu cari te vor lega, ca să nu mai poţi ieşi în mijlocul lor.

²⁶And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they are a rebellious house.

²⁶Îţi voi lipi limba de cerul gurii, ca să rămîi mut, şi să nu -i poţi mustra, căci sînt o casă de îndărătnici!

²⁷But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.

²⁷Dar cînd îţi voi vorbi, îţi voi deschide gura, ca să le spui: ,,Aşa vorbeşte Domnul, Dumnezeu: ,Cine vrea să asculte, să asculte; cine nu vrea, să n'asculte! Căci sînt o casă de îndărătnici!`
