¹And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

¹Cînd a fost Avram în vîrstă de nouăzeci şi nouă ani, Domnul i S'a aratat, şi i -a zis: ,,Eu sînt Dumnezeul Cel atotputernic. Umblă înaintea Mea, şi fii fără prihană.

²And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.

²Voi face un legămînt între Mine şi tine, şi te voi înmulţi nespus de mult``.

³And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,

³Avram s'a aruncat cu faţa la pămînt; şi Dumnezeu i -a vorbit astfel:

⁴As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.

⁴,,Iată legămîntul Meu, pe care -l fac cu tine: vei fi tatăl multor neamuri.

⁵Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

⁵Nu te vei mai numi Avram; ci numele tău va fi Avraam; căci te fac tatăl multor neamuri.

⁶And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.

⁶Te voi înmulţi nespus de mult; voi face din tine neamuri întregi; şi din tine vor ieşi împăraţi.

⁷And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

⁷Voi pune legămîntul Meu între Mine şi tine şi sămînţa ta după tine din neam în neam; acesta va fi un legămînt vecinic, în puterea căruia, Eu voi fi Dumnezeul tău şi al seminţei tale după tine.

⁸And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

⁸Ţie, şi seminţei tale după tine, îţi voi da ţara în care locuieşti acum ca străin, şi anume îţi voi da toată ţara Canaanului în stăpînire vecinică; şi Eu voi fi Dumnezeul lor.``

⁹And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.

⁹Dumnezeu a zis lui Avraam: ,,Să păzeşti legămîntul Meu, tu şi sămînţa ta după tine, din neam în neam.

¹⁰This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised.

¹⁰Acesta este legămîntul Meu pe care să -l păziţi între Mine şi voi, şi sămînţa ta după tine: tot ce este de parte bărbătească între voi să fie tăiat împrejur.

¹¹And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.

¹¹Să vă tăiaţi împrejur în carnea prepuţului vostru: şi acesta să fie semnul legămîntului dintre Mine şi voi.

¹²And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.

¹²La vîrsta de opt zile, orice copil de parte bărbătească dintre voi să fie tăiat împrejur, neam după neam: fie că este rob născut în casă, fie că este cumpărat cu bani dela vreun străin, care nu face parte din neamul tău.

¹³He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.

¹³Va trebui tăiat împrejur atît robul născut în casă cît şi cel cumpărat cu bani; şi astfel legămîntul Meu să fie întărit în carnea voastră ca un legămînt vecinic.

¹⁴And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.

¹⁴Un copil de parte bărbătească netăiat împrejur în carnea prepuţului lui, să fie nimicit din mijlocul neamului său: a călcat legămîntul Meu.``

¹⁵And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.

¹⁵Dumnezeu a zis lui Avraam: ,,Să nu mai chemi Sarai pe nevastă-ta Sarai; ci numele ei să fie Sara.

¹⁶And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.

¹⁶Eu o voi binecuvînta, şi îţi voi da un fiu din ea; da, o voi binecuvînta, şi ea va fi mama unor neamuri întregi; chiar împăraţi de noroade vor ieşi din ea.``

¹⁷Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?

¹⁷Avraam s'a aruncat cu faţa la pămînt şi a rîs, căci a zis în inima lui: ,,Să i se mai nască oare un fiu unui bărbat de o sută de ani? Şi să mai nască oare Sara la nouăzeci de ani?``

¹⁸And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!

¹⁸Şi Avraam a zis lui Dumnezeu: ,,Să trăiască Ismael înaintea Ta!``

¹⁹And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.

¹⁹Dumnezeu a zis: ,,Cu adevărat, nevastă-ta Sara îţi va naşte un fiu; şi -i vei pune numele Isaac. Eu voi încheia legămîntul Meu cu el, ca un legămînt vecinic pentru sămînţa lui după el.

²⁰And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

²⁰Dar şi cu privire la Ismael te-am ascultat. Iată, îl voi binecuvînta, îl voi face să crească, şi îl voi înmulţi nespus de mult; doisprezece voievozi va naşte, şi voi face din el un neam mare.

²¹But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.

²¹Dar legămîntul meu îl voi încheia cu Isaac, pe care ţi -l va naşte Sara la anul pe vremea aceasta.``

²²And he left off talking with him, and God went up from Abraham.

²²Cînd a isprăvit de vorbit cu el, Dumnezeu S'a înălţat dela Avraam.

²³And Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's house; and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the selfsame day, as God had said unto him.

²³Avraam a luat pe fiul său Ismael, pe toţi ceice se născuseră în casa lui, şi pe toţi robii cumpăraţi cu bani, adică pe toţi cei de parte bărbătească dintre oamenii din casa lui Avraam, şi le -a tăiat împrejur carnea prepuţului, chiar în ziua aceea, după porunca, pe care i -o dăduse Dumnezeu.

²⁴And Abraham was ninety years old and nine, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.

²⁴Avraam era în vîrstă de nouăzeci şi nouă de ani, cînd a fost tăiat împrejur în carnea prepuţului său.

²⁵And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.

²⁵Fiul său Ismael era în vîrstă de treisprezece ani, cînd a fost tăiat împrejur în carnea prepuţului său.

²⁶In the selfsame day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his son.

²⁶Avraam şi fiul său Ismael au fost tăiaţi împrejur chiar în ziua aceea.

²⁷And all the men of his house, born in the house, and bought with money of the stranger, were circumcised with him.

²⁷Şi toţi oamenii din casa lui: robi născuţi în casa lui, sau cumpăraţi cu bani dela străini, au fost tăiaţi împrejur împreună cu el.
