¹Thus saith the LORD; Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak there this word,

¹,,Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: ,Pogoară-te în casa împăratului lui Iuda, şi acolo rosteşte cuvintele acestea.

²And say, Hear the word of the LORD, O king of Judah, that sittest upon the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people that enter in by these gates:

²Să spui: ,Ascultă Cuvîntul Domnului, împărat al lui Iuda, care stai pe scaunul de domnie al lui David, tu, slujitorii tăi, şi tot poporul, cari intraţi pe porţile acestea!

³Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.

³Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: ,Faceţi dreptate şi judecată; scoateţi pe cel asuprit din mînile asupritorului; nu chinuiţi pe străin, pe orfan şi pe văduvă; nu apăsaţi, şi nu vărsaţi sînge nevinovat în locul acesta!

⁴For if ye do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, he, and his servants, and his people.

⁴Căci dacă lucraţi după cuvîntul acesta, vor intra pe porţile casei acesteia împăraţi cari stau pe scaunul de domnie al lui David, suiţi în cară şi călări pe cai, ei, slujitorii lor şi poporul lor.

⁵But if ye will not hear these words, I swear by myself, saith the LORD, that this house shall become a desolation.

⁵Dar dacă nu veţi asculta cuvintele acestea, pe Mine însumi jur, zice Domnul că această casă va ajunge o dărîmătură!

⁶For thus saith the LORD unto the king's house of Judah; Thou art Gilead unto me, and the head of Lebanon: yet surely I will make thee a wilderness, and cities which are not inhabited.

⁶Căci aşa vorbeşte Domnul asupra casei împăratului lui Iuda: ,Tu eşti pentru Mine ca Galaadul, ca vîrful Libanului; dar, cu adevărat, voi face din tine un pustiu, o cetate fără locuitori!

⁷And I will prepare destroyers against thee, every one with his weapons: and they shall cut down thy choice cedars, and cast them into the fire.

⁷Pregătesc împotriva ta nişte nimicitori, fiecare cu armele lui: ei vor tăia cei mai frumoşi cedri ai tăi, şi -i vor arunca în foc.

⁸And many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbour, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this great city?

⁸Multe neamuri vor trece pe lîngă cetatea aceasta, şi vor zice unul altuia: ,Pentruce a făcut Domnul aşa acestei cetăţi mari?`

⁹Then they shall answer, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD their God, and worshipped other gods, and served them.

⁹Şi se va răspunde: ,Pentrucă au părăsit legămîntul Domnului, Dumnezeului lor, pentrucă s'au închinat înaintea altor dumnezei şi le-au slujit!`

¹⁰Weep ye not for the dead, neither bemoan him: but weep sore for him that goeth away: for he shall return no more, nor see his native country.

¹⁰,Nu plîngeţi pe cel mort, şi nu vă bociţi pentru el; ci plîngeţi mai de grabă pe cel ce se duce, care nu se va mai întoarce, şi nu-şi va mai vedea ţara de naştere!

¹¹For thus saith the LORD touching Shallum the son of Josiah king of Judah, which reigned instead of Josiah his father, which went forth out of this place; He shall not return thither any more:

¹¹Căci aşa vorbeşte Domnul despre Şalum, fiul lui Iosia, împăratul lui Iuda, care domnea în locul tatălui său Iosia, şi care a ieşit din locul acesta: ,Nu se va mai întoarce în el;

¹²But he shall die in the place whither they have led him captive, and shall see this land no more.

¹²ci va muri în locul unde este dus rob, şi nu va mai vedea ţara aceasta.`

¹³Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; that useth his neighbour's service without wages, and giveth him not for his work;

¹³,Vai de cel ce îşi zideşte casa cu nedreptate, şi odăile cu nelegiuire; care pune pe aproapele său să lucreze de geaba, fără să -i dea plata;

¹⁴That saith, I will build me a wide house and large chambers, and cutteth him out windows; and it is cieled with cedar, and painted with vermilion.

¹⁴care zice: ,Îmi voi zidi o casă mare, şi odăi încăpătoare;` şi -i face ferestre multe, o căptuşeşte cu cedru, şi o văpseşte cu roş!`

¹⁵Shalt thou reign, because thou closest thyself in cedar? did not thy father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, and then it was well with him?

¹⁵,Împărat eşti tu oare, de te întreci în cedri?` Nu mînca tatăl tău, şi nu bea şi el?` Şi totuş el făcea dreptate şi judecată, şi era fericit!

¹⁶He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well with him: was not this to know me? saith the LORD.

¹⁶Judeca pricina săracului şi a celui lipsit, şi era fericit. Nu înseamnă lucrul acesta a Mă cunoaşte? zice Domnul.

¹⁷But thine eyes and thine heart are not but for thy covetousness, and for to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it.

¹⁷Dar tu n'ai ochi şi inimă decît ca să te dedai la lăcomie, ca să verşi sînge nevinovat, şi să întrebuinţezi asuprire şi sîlnicie.

¹⁸Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah; They shall not lament for him, saying, Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! they shall not lament for him, saying, Ah lord! or, Ah his glory!

¹⁸De aceea, aşa vorbeşte Domnul despre Ioachim, fiul lui Iosia, împăratul lui Iuda: ,,Nu -l vor plînge, zicînd: ,Vai, fratele meu! Vai, sora mea!` Nici nu -l vor plînge, zicînd: ,Vai doamne! Vai, măria sa!`

¹⁹He shall be buried with the burial of an ass, drawn and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem.

¹⁹Ci va fi înmormîntat ca un măgar, va fi tîrît şi aruncat afară din porţile Ierusalimului!``

²⁰Go up to Lebanon, and cry; and lift up thy voice in Bashan, and cry from the passages: for all thy lovers are destroyed.

²⁰,,Suie-te pe Liban, şi strigă! Înalţă-ţi glasul de pe Basan! Şi strigă de pe înălţimea Abarim! Căci toţi cei ce te iubeau sînt zdrobiţi!

²¹I spake unto thee in thy prosperity; but thou saidst, I will not hear. This hath been thy manner from thy youth, that thou obeyedst not my voice.

²¹,,Ţi-am vorbit cînd îţi mergea bine; dar tu ziceai: ,Nu pot s'ascult!` Aşa ai lucrat din tinereţea ta, şi n'ai ascultat glasul Meu.

²²The wind shall eat up all thy pastors, and thy lovers shall go into captivity: surely then shalt thou be ashamed and confounded for all thy wickedness.

²²Pe toţi păstorii tăi îi va paşte vîntul, şi cei ce te iubesc vor merge în robie. Atunci vei fi acoperit de ruşine şi vei roşi, din pricina întregei tale răutăţi.

²³O inhabitant of Lebanon, that makest thy nest in the cedars, how gracious shalt thou be when pangs come upon thee, the pain as of a woman in travail!

²³Tu, care locuieşti pe Liban acum, care îţi ai cuibul în cedri, cum vei geme cînd te vor ajunge durerile, dureri ca ale unei femei în munci.``

²⁴As I live, saith the LORD, though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet upon my right hand, yet would I pluck thee thence;

²⁴,,Pe viaţa Mea, zice Domnul, că, şi chiar dacă Ieconia1 (Sau Ioiachim) fiul lui Ioiachim, împăratul lui Iuda, ar fi un inel de pecetluit în mîna Mea cea dreaptă, te-aş scoate şi de acolo.

²⁵And I will give thee into the hand of them that seek thy life, and into the hand of them whose face thou fearest, even into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of the Chaldeans.

²⁵Te voi da în mînile celor ce vor să-ţi ia viaţa, în mînile acelora înaintea cărora tremuri, în mînile lui Nebucadneţar, înpăratul Babilonului, în mînile Haldeilor.

²⁶And I will cast thee out, and thy mother that bare thee, into another country, where ye were not born; and there shall ye die.

²⁶Te voi arunca, pe tine şi pe mamă-ta care te -a născut, într'o altă ţară, unde nu v'aţi născut, şi acolo veţi muri!

²⁷But to the land whereunto they desire to return, thither shall they not return.

²⁷Dar în ţara în care vor dori să se întoarcă, nu se vor mai întoarce!

²⁸Is this man Coniah a despised broken idol? is he a vessel wherein is no pleasure? wherefore are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they know not?

²⁸Este un vas dispreţuit, sfărîmat, acest Ieconia? Este el un lucru, căruia nu -i dai niciun preţ? Pentruce sînt aruncaţi oare, el şi sămînţa lui, şi asvîrliţi într'o ţară, pe care n'o cunosc?`` -

²⁹O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD.

²⁹Ţară, ţară, ţară, ascultă glasul Domnului!

³⁰Thus saith the LORD, Write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah.

³⁰Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: ,,Scrieţi pe omul acesta ca lipsit de copii, ca un om căruia nu -i va merge bine toată viaţa lui; căci niciunul din urmaşii lui nu va izbuti să şadă pe scaunul de domnie a lui David şi să domnească peste Iuda.``
