¹Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

¹Zedechia avea douăzeci şi unu de ani cînd a ajuns împărat, şi a domnit unsprezece ani la Ierusalim. Mamă-sa se chema Hamutal, fiica lui Ieremia, din Libna.

²And he did that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.

²El a făcut ce este rău înaintea Domnului, întocmai cum făcuse Ioiachim.

³For through the anger of the LORD it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, till he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

³Şi lucrul acesta s'a întîmplat din pricina mîniei Domnului împotriva Ierusalimului şi împotriva lui Iuda, pe cari voia să -i lepede dela Faţa Lui. Şi Zedechia s'a răsculat împotriva împăratului Babilonului.

⁴And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it, and built forts against it round about.

⁴În al nouălea an al domniei lui Zedechia, în ziua a zecea a lunii a zecea, a venit Nebucadneţar, împăratul Babilonului, cu toată oştirea lui, împotriva Ierusalimului; au tăbărît înaintea lui, şi au ridicat şanţuri de apărare dejur împrejurul lui.

⁵So the city was besieged unto the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.

⁵Cetatea a stat împresurată pînă în anul al unsprezecelea al împăratului Zedechia.

⁶And in the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the famine was sore in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.

⁶În ziua a noua a lunii a patra, era mare foamete în cetate, aşa că poporul ţării nu mai avea pîne de loc.

⁷Then the city was broken up, and all the men of war fled, and went forth out of the city by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king's garden; (now the Chaldeans were by the city round about:) and they went by the way of the plain.

⁷Atunci s'a făcut o spărtură în cetate; şi toţi oamenii de război au fugit, şi au ieşit din cetate noaptea, pe drumul porţii dintre cele două ziduri de lîngă grădina împăratului, pe cînd înconjurau Haldeii cetatea. Fugarii au apucat pe drumul cîmpiei.

⁸But the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.

⁸Dar oastea Haldeilor a urmărit pe împărat, şi au ajuns pe Zedechia în cîmpiile Ierihonului, dupăce toată oştirea lui se risipise dela el.

⁹Then they took the king, and carried him up unto the king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath; where he gave judgment upon him.

⁹Au pus mîna pe împărat, şi l-au dus la împăratul Babilonului la Ribla, în ţara Hamatului; şi el a rostit o hotărîre împotriva lui.

¹⁰And the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes: he slew also all the princes of Judah in Riblah.

¹⁰Împăratul Babilonul a pus să junghie pe fiii lui Zedechia în faţa lui; a pus să taie la Ribla şi pe toate căpeteniile lui Iuda.

¹¹Then he put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in chains, and carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison till the day of his death.

¹¹Apoi a pus să scoată ochii lui Zedechia, şi a pus să -l lege cu lanţuri de aramă. Apoi împăratul Babilonului l -a dus la Babilon, şi l -a ţinut în temniţă pînă în ziua morţii lui.

¹²Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, which served the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem,

¹²În ziua a zecea a lunii a cincea, în al nouăsprezecelea an al domniei lui Nebucadneţar, împăratul Babilonului, -a venit la Ierusalim Nebuzaradan, căpetenia străjerilor, care era în slujba împăratului Babilonului.

¹³And burned the house of the LORD, and the king's house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, and all the houses of the great men, burned he with fire:

¹³El a ars casa Domnului, casa împăratului, şi toate casele casele Ierusalimului; a dat foc tuturor caselor mai mari.

¹⁴And all the army of the Chaldeans, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down all the walls of Jerusalem round about.

¹⁴Toată ostea Haldeilor, care era cu căpetenia străjerilor, a dărîmat de asemenea toate zidurile dimprejurul Ierusalimului.

¹⁵Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive certain of the poor of the people, and the residue of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the multitude.

¹⁵Nebuzaradan, căpetenia străjerilor, a luat prinşi de război o parte din cei mai săraci din popor, pe aceia din popor cari rămăseseră în cetate, pe ceice se supuseseră împăratului Babilonului, cealaltă rămăşiţă a mulţimii.

¹⁶But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left certain of the poor of the land for vinedressers and for husbandmen.

¹⁶Totuş Nebuzaradan, căpetenia străjerilor, a lăsat ca vieri şi ca plugari pe unii din cei mai săraci din ţară.

¹⁷Also the pillars of brass that were in the house of the LORD, and the bases, and the brasen sea that was in the house of the LORD, the Chaldeans brake, and carried all the brass of them to Babylon.

¹⁷Haldeii au sfărîmat stîlpii de aramă cari erau în casa Domnului, temeliile, marea de aramă care era în Casa Domnului, şi toată arama lor au dus -o în Babilon.

¹⁸The caldrons also, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the bowls, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered, took they away.

¹⁸Au luat oalele, lopeţile, cuţitele, potirele, ceştile şi toate uneltele de aramă cu cari se făcea slujba.

¹⁹And the basons, and the firepans, and the bowls, and the caldrons, and the candlesticks, and the spoons, and the cups; that which was of gold in gold, and that which was of silver in silver, took the captain of the guard away.

¹⁹Căpetenia străjerilor a mai luat şi lighenele, tămîietoarele, potirele, cenuşarele, sfeşnicele, ceştile şi paharele, tot ce era de aur şi ce era de argint.

²⁰The two pillars, one sea, and twelve brasen bulls that were under the bases, which king Solomon had made in the house of the LORD: the brass of all these vessels was without weight.

²⁰Cei doi stîlpi, marea, şi cei doisprezece boi de aramă cari slujeau drept temelie, şi cari -i făcuse împăratul Solomon pentru Casa Domnului, toate aceste unelte de aramă aveau o greutate care nu se putea cîntări.

²¹And concerning the pillars, the height of one pillar was eighteen cubits; and a fillet of twelve cubits did compass it; and the thickness thereof was four fingers: it was hollow.

²¹Înălţimea unuia din stîlpi era de optsprezece coţi, şi un fir de doisprezece coţi îl cuprindea; era gol şi gros de patru degete;

²²And a chapiter of brass was upon it; and the height of one chapiter was five cubits, with network and pomegranates upon the chapiters round about, all of brass. The second pillar also and the pomegranates were like unto these.

²²deasupra lui era un coperiş de aramă, şi înălţimea unui coperiş era de cinci coţi; împrejurul coperişului era o reţea şi rodii, toate de aramă; tot aşa era şi al doilea stîlp, şi avea şi el rodii.

²³And there were ninety and six pomegranates on a side; and all the pomegranates upon the network were an hundred round about.

²³Erau nouăzeci şi şase de rodii de fiecare parte, şi toate rodiile dimprejurul reţelei erau în număr de o sută.

²⁴And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the door:

²⁴Căpetenia străjerilor a luat pe marele preot Seraia, pe Ţefania, al doilea preot, şi pe cei trei uşieri.

²⁵He took also out of the city an eunuch, which had the charge of the men of war; and seven men of them that were near the king's person, which were found in the city; and the principal scribe of the host, who mustered the people of the land; and threescore men of the people of the land, that were found in the midst of the city.

²⁵Şi din cetate a luat pe un famen care avea supt poruncca lui pe oamenii de război, şapte oameni din ceice făceau parte din sfetnicii împăratului şi cari au fost găsiţi în cetate, apoi pe logofătul căpeteniei oştirii, care era însărcinat să scrie la oaste poporul din ţară, şi şasezeci de oameni din poporul ţării, cari se aflau în cetate.

²⁶So Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard took them, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah.

²⁶Nebuzaradan, căpetenia străjerilor, i -a luat, şi i -a dus la împăratul Babilonului la Ribla.

²⁷And the king of Babylon smote them, and put them to death in Riblah in the land of Hamath. Thus Judah was carried away captive out of his own land.

²⁷Împăratul Babilonului i -a lovit şi i -a omorît la Ribla în ţara Hamatului. Astfel a fost dus rob Iuda departe de ţara lui.

²⁸This is the people whom Nebuchadrezzar carried away captive: in the seventh year three thousand Jews and three and twenty:

²⁸Iată poporul pe care l -a dus Nebucadneţar în robie: în al şaptelea an: trei mii douăzeci şi trei de Iudei;

²⁹In the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar he carried away captive from Jerusalem eight hundred thirty and two persons:

²⁹în al optsprezecelea an al lui Nebucadneţar, a luat din Ierusalim opt sute treizeci şi doi de inşi;

³⁰In the three and twentieth year of Nebuchadrezzar Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the Jews seven hundred forty and five persons: all the persons were four thousand and six hundred.

³⁰în al douăzeci şi treilea an al lui Nebucadneţar, Nebuzaradan, căpetenia străjerilor, a luat şapte sute patruzeci şi cinci de Iudei; de toţi: patru mii şase sute de inşi.

³¹And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the five and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of Babylon in the first year of his reign lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and brought him forth out of prison.

³¹În al treizeci şi şaptelea an al robiei lui Ioiachin, împăratul lui Iuda, în a douăzeci şi cincea zi a lunii a douăsprezecea, Evil-Merodac, împăratul Babilonului, în anul întîi al domniei lui, a înălţat capul lui Ioiachin, împăratul lui Iuda, şi l -a scos din temniţă.

³²And spake kindly unto him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in Babylon,

³²I -a vorbit cu bunătate, şi i -a aşezat scaunul lui de domnie mai pe sus de scaunul de domnie al împăraţilor cari erau cu el la Babilon.

³³And changed his prison garments: and he did continually eat bread before him all the days of his life.

³⁴And for his diet, there was a continual diet given him of the king of Babylon, every day a portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life.
