¹When therefore the LORD knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,

¹Domnul a aflat că Fariseii au auzit că El face şi botează mai mulţi ucenici decît Ioan.

²(Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)

²Însă Isus nu boteza El însuş, ci ucenicii Lui.

³He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.

³Atunci a părăsit Iudea, şi S'a întors în Galilea.

⁴And he must needs go through Samaria.

⁴Fiindcă trebuia să treacă prin Samaria,

⁵Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

⁵a ajuns lîngă o cetate din ţinutul Samariei, numită Sihar, aproape de ogorul, pe care -l dăduse Iacov fiului său Iosif.

⁶Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.

⁶Acolo se afla fîntîna lui Iacov. Isus, ostenit de călătorie, şedea lîngă fîntînă. Era cam pe la ceasul al şaselea.

⁷There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.

⁷A venit o femeie din Samaria să scoată apă. ,,Dă-Mi să beau``, i -a zis Isus.

⁸(For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)

⁸Căci ucenicii Lui se duseseră în cetate să cumpere de ale mîncării.

⁹Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.

⁹Femeia Samariteancă I -a zis: ,,Cum Tu, Iudeu, ceri să bei dela mine, femeie Samariteancă?`` -Iudeii, în adevăr, n'au legături cu Samaritenii.

¹⁰Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

¹⁰-Drept răspuns, Isus i -a zis: ,,Dacă ai fi cunoscut tu darul lui Dumnezeu, şi Cine este Cel ce-ţi zice: ,Dă-Mi să beau!` tu singură ai fi cerut să bei, şi El ţi-ar fi dat apă vie.``

¹¹The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?

¹¹,,Doamne``, I -a zis femeia, ,,n'ai cu ce să scoţi apă, şi fîntîna aste adîncă; de unde ai putea să ai dar această apă vie?

¹²Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?

¹²Eşti Tu oare mai mare decît părintele nostru Iacov, care ne -a dat fîntîna aceasta, şi a băut din ea el însuş şi feciorii lui şi vitele lui?``

¹³Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

¹³Isus i -a răspuns: ,,Oricui bea din apa aceasta, îi va fi iarăş sete.

¹⁴But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

¹⁴Dar oricui va bea din apa, pe care i -o voi da Eu, în veac nu -i va fi sete; ba încă apa, pe care i -o voi da Eu, se va preface în el într'un izvor de apă, care va ţîşni în viaţa vecinică.``

¹⁵The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

¹⁵,,Doamne``, I -a zis femeia, ,,dă-mi această apă, ca să nu-mi mai fie sete, şi să nu mai vin pînă aici să scot.``

¹⁶Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.

¹⁶,,Du-te``, i -a zis Isus, ,,de cheamă pe bărbatul tău, şi vino aici``.

¹⁷The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:

¹⁷Femeia I -a răspuns: ,,N'am bărbat.`` Isus i -a zis: ,,Bine ai zis că n'ai bărbat.

¹⁸For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.

¹⁸Pentrucă cinci bărbaţi ai avut; şi acela, pe care -l ai acum, nu-ţi este bărbat. Aici ai spus adevărul.``

¹⁹The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

¹⁹,,Doamne``, I -a zis femeia, ,,văd că eşti prooroc.

²⁰Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

²⁰Părinţii noştri s'au închinat pe muntele acesta; şi voi ziceţi că în Ierusalim este locul unde trebuie să se închine oamenii.``

²¹Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

²¹,,Femeie``, i -a zis Isus, ,,crede-Mă că vine ceasul cînd nu vă veţi închina Tatălui, nici pe muntele acesta, nici în Ierusalim.

²²Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

²²Voi vă închinaţi la ce nu cunoaşteţi; noi ne închinăm la ce cunoaştem, căci Mîntuirea vine dela Iudei.

²³But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

²³Dar vine ceasul, şi acum a şi venit, cînd închinătorii adevăraţi se vor închina Tatălui în duh şi în adevăr; fiindcă astfel de închinători doreşte şi Tatăl.

²⁴God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

²⁴Dumnezeu este Duh; şi cine se închină Lui, trebuie să I se închine în duh şi în adevăr.``

²⁵The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

²⁵,,Ştiu``, i -a zis femeia, ,,că are să vină Mesia, (căruia I se zise Hristos); cînd va veni El, are să ne spună toate lucrurile.``

²⁶Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

²⁶Isus i -a zis: ,,Eu, cel care vorbesc cu tine, sînt Acela.``

²⁷And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?

²⁷Atunci au venit ucenicii Lui, şi se mirau că vorbea cu o femeie. Totuş nici unul nu I -a zis: ,,Ce căuţi?`` sau: ,,Despre ce vorbeşti cu ea?``

²⁸The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,

²⁸Atunci femeia şi -a lăsat găleata, s'a dus în cetate, şi a zis oamenilor:

²⁹Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?

²⁹,,Veniţi de vedeţi un om, care mi -a spus tot ce am făcut; nu cumva este acesta Hristosul?``

³⁰Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.

³⁰Ei au ieşit din cetate, şi veneau spre El.

³¹In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.

³¹În timpul acesta, ucenicii Îl rugau să mănînce, şi ziceau: ,,Învăţătorule, mănîncă!``

³²But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.

³²Dar El le -a zis: ,,Eu am de mîncat o mîncare, pe care voi n'o cunoaşteţi.``

³³Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?

³³Ucenicii au început să-şi zică deci unii altora: ,,Nu cumva I -a adus cineva să mănînce?``

³⁴Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

³⁴Isus le -a zis: ,,Mîncarea Mea este să fac voia Celui ce M'a trimes, şi să împlinesc lucrarea Lui.

³⁵Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

³⁵Nu ziceţi voi că mai sînt patru luni pînă la seceriş? Iată, Eu vă spun: Ridicaţi-vă ochii, şi priviţi holdele, cari sînt albe acum, gata pentru seceriş.

³⁶And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

³⁶Cine seceră, primeşte o plată, şi strînge roadă pentru viaţa vecinică; pentruca şi cel ce samănă şi celce seceră să se bucure în acelaş timp.

³⁷And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.

³⁷Căci în această privinţă, este adevărată zicerea: ,Unul samănă, iar altul seceră`.

³⁸I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.

³⁸Eu v'am trimes să seceraţi acolo unde nu voi v'aţi ostenit; alţii s'au ostenit, şi voi aţi intrat în osteneala lor.``

³⁹And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.

³⁹Mulţi Samariteni din cetatea aceea au crezut în Isus din pricina mărturiei femeii, care zicea: ,,Mi -a spus tot ce am făcut.``

⁴⁰So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.

⁴⁰Cînd au venit Samaritenii la El, L-au rugat să rămînă la ei. Şi El a rămas acolo două zile.

⁴¹And many more believed because of his own word;

⁴¹Mult mai mulţi au crezut în El din pricina cuvintelor Lui.

⁴²And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

⁴²Şi ziceau femeii: ,,Acum nu mai credem din pricina spuselor tale, ci din pricină că L-am auzit noi înşine, şi ştim că acesta este în adevăr Hristosul, Mîntuitorul lumii.``

⁴³Now after two days he departed thence, and went into Galilee.

⁴³După aceste două zile, Isus a plecat de acolo, ca să se ducă în Galilea.

⁴⁴For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country.

⁴⁴Căci El însuş spusese că un prooroc nu este preţuit în patria sa.

⁴⁵Then when he was come into Galilee, the Galilaeans received him, having seen all the things that he did at Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto the feast.

⁴⁵Cînd a ajuns în Galilea, a fost primit bine de Galileeni, cari văzuseră tot ce făcuse la Ierusalim în timpul praznicului; căci fuseseră şi ei la praznic.

⁴⁶So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.

⁴⁶Isus S'a întors deci în Cana din Galilea, unde prefăcuse apa în vin. În Capernaum era un slujbaş împărătesc, al cărui fiu era bolnav.

⁴⁷When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.

⁴⁷Slujbaşul acesta a aflat că Isus venise din Iudea în Galilea, s'a dus la El, şi L -a rugat să vină şi să tămăduiască pe fiul lui, care era pe moarte.

⁴⁸Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.

⁴⁸Isus i -a zis: ,,Dacă nu vedeţi semne şi minuni, cu niciun chip nu credeţi!``

⁴⁹The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.

⁴⁹Slujbaşul împărătesc I -a zis: ,,Doamne, vino pînă nu moare micuţul meu.``

⁵⁰Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.

⁵⁰,,Du-te``, i -a zis Isus, ,,fiul tău trăieşte.`` Şi omul acela a crezut cuvintele pe cari i le spusese Isus, şi a pornit la drum.

⁵¹And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.

⁵¹Pe cînd se pogora el, l-au întîmpinat robii lui, şi i-au adus vestea că fiul lui trăieşte.

⁵²Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.

⁵²El i -a întrebat de ceasul în care a început să -i fie mai bine. Şi ei i-au zis: ,,Ieri, în ceasul al şaptelea, l-au lăsat frigurile.``

⁵³So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.

⁵³Tatăl a cunoscut că tocmai în ceasul acela îi zisese Isus: ,,Fiul tău trăieşte``. Şi a crezut el şi toată casa lui.

⁵⁴This is again the second miracle that Jesus did, when he was come out of Judaea into Galilee.

⁵⁴Acesta este iarăş al doilea semn, făcut de Isus, după ce S'a întors din Iudea în Galilea.
