1I AM the man that hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
1Eu sînt omul care a văzut suferinţa supt nuiaua urgiei Lui.
2He hath led me, and brought me into darkness, but not into light.
2El m'a dus, m'a mînat în întunerec, şi nu în lumină.
3Surely against me is he turned; he turneth his hand against me all the day.
3Numai împotriva mea îşi întinde şi îşi întoarce mîna, toată ziua.
4My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones.
4Mi -a prăpădit carnea şi pielea, şi mi -a zdrobit oasele.
5He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.
5A făcut zid împrejurul meu, şi m'a înconjurat cu otravă şi durere.
6He hath set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old.
6Mă aşează în întunerec, ca pe cei morţi pentru totdeauna.
7He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.
7M'a înconjurat cu un zid, ca să nu ies; m'a pus în lanţuri grele.
8Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.
8Să tot strig şi să tot cer ajutor, căci El tot nu-mi primeşte rugăciunea.
9He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked.
9Mi -a astupat calea cu pietre cioplite, şi mi -a strîmbat cărările.
10He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places.
10Mă pîndeşte ca un urs şi ca un leu într'un loc ascuns.
11He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he hath made me desolate.
11Mi -a abătut căile, şi apoi s'a aruncat pe mine, şi m'a pustiit.
12He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
12Şi -a încordat arcul, şi m'a pus ţintă săgeţii Lui.
13He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.
13În rărunchi mi -a înfipt săgeţile din tolba Lui.
14I was a derision to all my people; and their song all the day.
14Am ajuns de rîsul poporului meu, şi toată ziua sînt pus în cîntece de batjocură de ei.
15He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath made me drunken with wormwood.
15M'a săturat de amărăciune, m'a îmbătat cu pelin.
16He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes.
16Mi -a sfărîmat dinţii cu pietre, m'a acoperit cu cenuşă.
17And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgat prosperity.
17Mi-ai luat pacea, şi nu mai cunosc fericirea.
18And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD:
18Şi am zis: ,,S'a dus puterea mea de viaţă, şi nu mai am nici o nădejde în Domnul.``
19Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
19,,Gîndeşte-Te la necazul şi suferinţa mea, la pelin şi la otravă!``
20My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
20Cînd îşi aduce aminte sufletul meu de ele, este mîhnit în mine.
21This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
21Iată ce mai gîndesc în inima mea, şi iată ce mă face să mai trag nădejde:
22It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
22Bunătăţile Domnului nu s'au sfîrşit, îndurările Lui nu sînt la capăt,
23They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
23ci se înoiesc în fiecare dimineaţă. Şi credincioşia Ta este atît de mare!
24The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
24,,Domnul este partea mea de moştenire,`` zice sufletul meu; de aceea nădăjduiesc în El.
25The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
25Domnul este bun cu cine nădăjduieşte în El, cu sufletul care -L caută.
26It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
26Bine este să aştepţi în tăcere ajutorul Domnului.
27It is good for a man that he bear the yoke of his youth.
27Este bine pentru om să poarte un jug în tinereţa lui.
28He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him.
28Să stea singur şi să tacă, pentrucă Domnul i l -a pus pe grumaz;
29He putteth his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.
29să-şi umple gura cu ţărînă, şi să nu-şi peardă nădejdea;
30He giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproach.
30să dea obrazul celui ce -l loveşte, şi să se sature de ocări.
31For the LORD will not cast off for ever:
31Căci Domnul nu leapădă pentru totdeauna.
32But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
32Ci, cînd mîhneşte pe cineva, Se îndură iarăş de el, după îndurarea Lui cea mare:
33For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.
33căci El nu necăjeşte cu plăcere, nici nu mîhneşte bucuros pe copiii oamenilor.
34To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth.
34Cînd se calcă în picioarele toţi prinşii de război ai unei ţări,
35To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High,
35cînd se calcă dreptatea omenească în faţa Celui Prea Înalt,
36To subvert a man in his cause, the LORD approveth not.
36cînd este nedreptăţit un om în pricina lui, nu vede Domnul?
37Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?
37Cine a spus şi s'a întîmplat ceva fără porunca Domnului?
38Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?
38Nu iese din gura Celui Prea Înalt răul şi binele?
39Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
39De ce să se plîngă omul cît trăieşte? Ficare să se plîngă mai bine de păcatele lui!
40Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.
40Să luăm seama la umbletele noastre, să le cercetăm, şi să ne întoarcem la Domnul.
41Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.
41Să ne înălţăm şi inimile cu mînile spre Dumnezeu din cer, zicînd:
42We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned.
42,,Am păcătuit, am fost îndărătnici, şi nu ne-ai iertat!``
43Thou hast covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied.
43În mînia Ta, Te-ai ascuns, şi ne-ai urmărit, ai ucis fără milă.
44Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through.
44Te-ai învăluit într'un nor, ca să nu străbată la Tine rugăciunea noastră.
45Thou hast made us as the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people.
45Ne-ai făcut de batjocură şi de ocară printre popoare.
46All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.
46Toţi vrăjmaşii noştri deschid gura împotriva noastră.
47Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction.
47De groază şi de groapă am avut parte, de prăpăd şi pustiire.
48Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
48Şivoaie de apă îmi curg din ochi din pricina prăpădului fiicei poporului meu.
49Mine eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission.
49Mi se topeşte ochiul în lacrămi, necurmat şi fără răgaz,
50Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven.
50pînăce Domnul va privi din cer şi va vedea.
51Mine eye affecteth mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.
51Mă doare ochiul de plîns pentru toate fiicele cetăţii mele.
52Mine enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without cause.
52Cei ce mă urăsc fără temei, m'au gonit ca pe o pasăre.
53They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.
53Voiau să-mi nimicească viaţa într'o groapă, şi au aruncat cu pietre în mine.
54Waters flowed over mine head; then I said, I am cut off.
54Mi-au năvălit apele peste cap şi ziceam: ,,Sînt perdut!``
55I called upon thy name, O LORD, out of the low dungeon.
55Dar am chemat Numele Tău, Doamne, din fundul gropii.
56Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.
56Tu mi-ai auzit glasul: ,,Nu-Ţi astupa urechea la suspinurile şi strigătele mele.``
57Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not.
57În ziua cînd Te-am chemat, Te-ai apropiat, şi ai zis: ,,Nu te teme!``
58O LORD, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.
58Doamne, Tu ai apărat pricina sufletului meu, mi-ai răscumpărat viaţa!
59O LORD, thou hast seen my wrong: judge thou my cause.
59Doamne, ai văzut apăsarea mea: fă-mi dreptate.
60Thou hast seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me.
60Ai văzut toate răzbunările lor, toate uneltirile lor împotriva mea.
61Thou hast heard their reproach, O LORD, and all their imaginations against me;
61Doamne, le-ai auzit ocările, toate uneltirile împotriva mea,
62The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.
62cuvîntările protivnicilor mei, şi planurile pe cari le urzeau în fiecare zi împotriva mea.
63Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their musick.
63Uită-Te cînd stau ei jos sau cînd se scoală. Eu sînt cîntecul lor de batjocură.
64Render unto them a recompence, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.
64Răsplăteşte-le, Doamne, după faptele mînilor lor!
65Give them sorrow of heart, thy curse unto them.
65Împetreşte-le inima, şi aruncă blestemul Tău împotriva lor!
66Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the LORD.
66Urmăreşte -i, în mînia Ta, şi şterge -i de supt ceruri, Doamne!``
