¹And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him.

¹Isus a plecat de acolo, şi S'a dus în patria Lui. Ucenicii Lui au mers după El.

²And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?

²Cînd a venit ziua Sabatului, a început să înveţe pe norod în sinagogă. Mulţi, cînd Îl auzeau, se mirau şi ziceau: ,,De unde are El aceste lucruri? Ce fel de înţelepciune este aceasta, care I -a fost dată? Şi cum se fac astfel de minuni prin mînile Lui?

³Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

³Nu este acesta tîmplarul, feciorul Mariei, fratele lui Iacov, al lui Iose, al lui Iuda şi al lui Simon? Şi nu sînt surorile Lui aici între noi?`` Şi găseau o pricină de poticnire în El.

⁴But Jesus, said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

⁴Dar Isus le -a zis: ,,Un prooroc nu este dispreţuit decît în patria Lui, între rudele Lui şi în casa Lui.``

⁵And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.

⁵N'a putut să facă nici o minune acolo, ci doar Şi -a pus mînile peste cîţiva bolnavi, şi i -a vindecat.

⁶And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.

⁶Şi se mira de necredinţa lor.

⁷And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;

⁷Atunci a chemat la Sine pe cei doisprezece, şi a început să -i trimeată doi cîte doi, dîndu-le putere asupra duhurilor necurate.

⁸And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse:

⁸Le -a poruncit să nu ia nimic cu ei pe drum decît un toiag; să n'aibă nici pîne, nici traistă, nici bani de aramă la brîu;

⁹But be shod with sandals; and not put on two coats.

⁹să se încalţe cu sandale, şi să nu se îmbrace cu două haine.

¹⁰And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide till ye depart from that place.

¹⁰Apoi le -a zis: ,,În orice casă veţi intra, să rămîneţi acolo pînă veţi pleca din locul acela.

¹¹And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

¹¹Şi, dacă în vreun loc nu vă vor primi, şi nu vă vor asculta, să plecaţi de acolo, şi să scuturaţi îndată praful de supt picioarele voastre, ca mărturie pentru ei. Adevărat vă spun că, în ziua judecăţii, va fi mai uşor pentru pămîntul Sodomei şi Gomorei decît pentru cetatea aceea.``

¹²And they went out, and preached that men should repent.

¹²Ucenicii au plecat, şi au propovăduit pocăinţa.

¹³And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.

¹³Scoteau mulţi draci, şi ungeau cu untdelemn pe mulţi bolnavi, şi -i vindecau.

¹⁴And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.

¹⁴Impăratul Irod a auzit vorbindu-se despre Isus, al cărui Nume ajunsese vestit; şi a zis: ,,Ioan Botezătorul a înviat din morţi, şi de aceea lucrează aceste puteri prin el.``

¹⁵Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.

¹⁵Alţii ziceau: ,,Este Ilie.`` Iar alţii ziceau: ,,Este un prooroc ca unul din prooroci.``

¹⁶But when Herod heard thereof, he said, It is John, whom I beheaded: he is risen from the dead.

¹⁶Dar Irod, cînd a auzit lucrul acesta, zicea: ,,Ioan acela, căruia i-am tăiat capul, a înviat din morţi.``

¹⁷For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife: for he had married her.

¹⁷Căci Irod însuş trimesese să prindă pe Ioan, şi -l legase în temniţă, din pricina Irodiadei, nevasta fratelui său Filip, pentrucă o luase de nevastă.

¹⁸For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife.

¹⁸Şi Ioan zicea lui Irod: ,,Nu-ţi este îngăduit să ţii pe nevasta fratelui tău!``

¹⁹Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not:

¹⁹Irodiada avea necaz pe Ioan, şi voia să -l omoare. Dar nu putea,

²⁰For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.

²⁰căci Irod se temea de Ioan, fiindcă îl ştia om neprihănit şi sfînt; îl ocrotea, şi, cînd îl auzea, de multe ori sta în cumpănă, neştiind ce să facă; şi -l asculta cu plăcere.

²¹And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;

²¹Totuş a venit o zi cu bun prilej, cînd Irod îşi prăznuia ziua naşterii, şi a dat un ospăţ boierilor săi, mai marilor oastei şi fruntaşilor Galileii.

²²And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.

²²Fata Irodiadei a intrat la ospăţ, a jucat, şi a plăcut lui Irod şi oaspeţilor lui. Împăratul a zis fetei: ,,Cere-mi orice vrei, şi-ţi voi da.``

²³And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.

²³Apoi a adăugat cu jurămînt: ,,Ori ce-mi vei cere, îţi voi da, fie şi jumătate din împărăţia mea.``

²⁴And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.

²⁴Fata a ieşit afară, şi a zis mamei sale: ,,Ce să cer? Şi mamă-sa i -a răspuns: ,,Capul lui Ioan Botezătorul.``

²⁵And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.

²⁵Ea s'a grăbit să vină îndată la Împărat, şi i -a făcut următoarea cerere: ,,Vreau să-mi dai îndată, într'o farfurie, capul lui Ioan Botezătorul.``

²⁶And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath's sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.

²⁶Împăratul s'a întristat foarte mult; dar, din pricina jurămintelor sale şi din pricina oaspeţilor, n'a vrut să zică nu.

²⁷And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,

²⁷A trimes îndată un ostaş de pază, cu porunca de a aduce capul lui Ioan Botezătorul. Ostaşul de pază s'a dus şi a tăiat capul lui Ioan în temniţă,

²⁸And brought his head in a charger, and gave it to the damsel: and the damsel gave it to her mother.

²⁸l -a adus pe o farfurie, l -a dat fetei, şi fata l -a dat mamei sale.

²⁹And when his disciples heard of it, they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.

²⁹Ucenicii lui Ioan, cînd au auzit acest lucru, au venit de i-au ridicat trupul, şi l-au pus într'un mormînt.

³⁰And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.

³⁰Apostolii s'au adunat la Isus, şi I-au spus tot ce făcuseră şi tot ce învăţaseră pe oameni.

³¹And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.

³¹Isus le -a zis: ,,Veniţi singuri la o parte, într'un loc pustiu, şi odihniţi-vă puţin.`` Căci erau mulţi cari veneau şi se duceau, şi ei n'aveau vreme nici să mănînce.

³²And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.

³²Au plecat dar cu corabia, ca să se ducă într'un loc pustiu, la o parte.

³³And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him.

³³Oamenii i-au văzut plecînd, şi i-au cunoscut; au alergat pe jos din toate cetăţile, şi au venit înaintea lor în locul în care se duceau ei.

³⁴And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

³⁴Cînd a ieşit din corabie, Isus a văzut mult norod; şi I s'a făcut milă de ei, pentrucă erau ca nişte oi cari n'aveau păstor; şi a început să -i înveţe multe lucruri.

³⁵And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed:

³⁵Fiindcă ziua era pe sfîrşite, ucenicii s'au apropiat de El şi I-au zis: ,,Locul acesta este pustiu şi ziua este pe sfîrşite.

³⁶Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.

³⁶Dă-le drumul să se ducă în cătunele şi satele de primprejur, ca să-şi cumpere pîne, fiindcă n'au ce mînca.``

³⁷He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?

³⁷,,Daţi-le voi să mănînce``, le -a răspuns Isus. Dar ei I-au zis: ,,Oare să ne ducem să cumpărăm pîni de două sute de lei, şi să le dăm să mănînce?``

³⁸He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.

³⁸Şi El i -a întrebat: ,,Cîte pîni aveţi? Duceţi-vă de vedeţi.`` S'au dus de au văzut cîte pîni au, şi au răspuns: ,,Cinci, şi doi peşti.``

³⁹And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass.

³⁹Atunci le -a poruncit să -i aşeze pe toţi, cete-cete, pe iarba verde.

⁴⁰And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.

⁴⁰Şi au şezut jos în cete de cîte o sută şi de cîte cincizeci.

⁴¹And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.

⁴¹El a luat cele cinci pîni şi cei doi peşti. Şi -a ridicat ochii spre cer, şi a rostit binecuvîntarea. Apoi a frînt pînile şi le -a dat ucenicilor, ca ei să le împartă norodului. Asemenea şi cei doi peşti, i -a împărţit la toţi.

⁴²And they did all eat, and were filled.

⁴²Au mîncat toţi şi s'au săturat;

⁴³And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes.

⁴³şi au ridicat douăsprezece coşuri pline cu fărămituri de pîne şi cu ce mai rămăsese din peşti.

⁴⁴And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men.

⁴⁴Cei ce mîncaseră pînile, erau cinci mii de bărbaţi.

⁴⁵And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.

⁴⁵Îndată, Isus a silit pe ucenicii Săi să intre în corabie, şi să treacă înaintea Lui de cealaltă parte, spre Betsaida. În timpul acesta, El avea să dea drumul norodului.

⁴⁶And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.

⁴⁶Dupăce Şi -a luat rămas bun dela norod, S'a dus în munte, ca să Se roage.

⁴⁷And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.

⁴⁷Cînd s'a înserat, corabia era în mijlocul mării, iar Isus era singur pe ţărm.

⁴⁸And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.

⁴⁸A văzut pe ucenici că se necăjesc cu vîslirea, căci vîntul le era împotrivă. Şi într'a patra strajă din noapte, a mers la ei, umblînd pe mare, şi voia să treacă pe lîngă ei.

⁴⁹But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out:

⁴⁹Cînd L-au văzut ei umblînd pe mare, li s'a părut că este o nălucă, şi au ţipat;

⁵⁰For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.

⁵⁰pentrucă toţi L-au văzut, şi s'au spăimîntat. Isus a vorbit îndată cu ei, şi le -a zis: ,,Îndrăzniţi, Eu sînt, nu vă temeţi!``

⁵¹And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.

⁵¹Apoi S'a suit la ei în corabie, şi a stat vîntul. Ei au rămas uimiţi şi înmărmuriţi,

⁵²For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.

⁵²căci nu înţeleseseră minunea cu pînile, fiindcă le era inima împietrită.

⁵³And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore.

⁵³După ce au trecut marea, au venit în ţinutul Ghenezaretului, şi au tras la mal.

⁵⁴And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him,

⁵⁴Cînd au ieşit din corabie, oamenii au cunoscut îndată pe Isus,

⁵⁵And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.

⁵⁵au alergat prin toate împrejurimile, şi au început să aducă pe bolnavi în paturi, pretutindeni pe unde se auzea că era El.

⁵⁶And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.

⁵⁶Oriunde intra El, în sate, în cetăţi sau în cătune, puneau pe bolnavi pe pieţe, şi -L rugau să le dea voie doar să se atingă de poalele hainei Lui. Şi toţi cîţi se atingeau de El, erau tămăduiţi.
