¹If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

¹Deci, dacă este vreo îndemnare în Hristos, dacă este vreo mîngîiere în dragoste, dacă este vreo legătură a Duhului, dacă este vreo milostivire şi vreo îndurare,

²Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

²faceţi-mi bucuria deplină, şi aveţi o simţire, o dragoste, un suflet şi un gînd.

³Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

³Nu faceţi nimic din duh de ceartă sau din slavă deşartă; ci în smerenie fiecare să privească pe altul mai pe sus de el însuş.

⁴Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

⁴Fiecare din voi să se uite nu la foloasele lui, ci şi la foloasele altora.

⁵Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

⁵Să aveţi în voi gîndul acesta, care era şi în Hristos Isus:

⁶Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

⁶El, măcar că avea chipul lui Dumnezeu, totuş n'a crezut ca un lucru de apucat să fie deopotrivă cu Dumnezeu,

⁷But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

⁷ci S'a desbrăcat pe sine însuş şi a luat un chip de rob, făcîndu-Se asemenea oamenilor.

⁸And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

⁸La înfăţişare a fost găsit ca un om, S'a smerit şi S'a făcut ascultător pînă la moarte, şi încă moarte de cruce.

⁹Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

⁹Deaceea şi Dumnezeu L -a înălţat nespus de mult, şi I -a dat Numele, care este mai pe sus de orice nume;

¹⁰That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

¹⁰pentruca, în Numele lui Isus, să se plece orice genunchi al celor din ceruri, de pe pămînt şi de supt pămînt,

¹¹And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

¹¹şi orice limbă să mărturisească, spre slava lui Dumnezeu Tatăl, că Isus Hristos este Domnul.

¹²Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

¹²Astfel dar, prea iubiţilor, după cum totdeauna aţi fost ascultători, duceţi pînă la capăt mîntuirea voastră, cu frică şi cutremur, nu numai cînd sînt eu de faţă, ci cu mult mai mult acum, în lipsa mea.

¹³For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

¹³Căci Dumnezeu este Acela care lucrează în voi, şi vă dă, după plăcerea Lui, şi voinţa şi înfăptuirea.

¹⁴Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

¹⁴Faceţi toate lucrurile fără cîrtiri şi fără şovăieli,

¹⁵That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

¹⁵ca să fiţi fără prihană şi curaţi, copii ai lui Dumnezeu, fără vină, în mijlocul unui neam ticălos şi stricat, în care străluciţi ca nişte lumini în lume,

¹⁶Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

¹⁶ţinînd sus Cuvîntul vieţii; aşa ca, în ziua lui Hristos, să mă pot lăuda că n'am alergat, nici nu m'am ostenit în zădar.

¹⁷Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.

¹⁷Şi chiar dacă va trebui să fiu turnat ca o jertfă de băutură peste jertfa şi slujba credinţei voastre, eu mă bucur şi mă bucur cu voi toţi.

¹⁸For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me.

¹⁸Tot aşa şi voi, bucuraţi-vă, şi bucuraţi-vă împreună cu mine.

¹⁹But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.

¹⁹Nădăjduiesc, în Domnul Isus, să vă trimet în curînd pe Timotei, ca să fiu şi eu cu inimă bună cînd o să am ştiri despre voi.

²⁰For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state.

²⁰Căci n'am pe nimeni, care să-mi împărtăşească simţirile ca el, şi să se îngrijească într'adevăr de starea voastră.

²¹For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's.

²¹Ce -i drept, toţi umblă după foloasele lor, şi nu după ale lui Isus Hristos.

²²But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel.

²²Ştiţi rîvna lui încercată; cum, ca un copil cu tatăl lui, a lucrat ca un rob împreună cu mine pentru înaintarea Evangheliei.

²³Him therefore I hope to send presently, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me.

²³Pe el dar, nădăjduiesc să vi -l trimet, de îndatăce voi vedea ce întorsătură vor lua lucrurile cu privire la mine.

²⁴But I trust in the Lord that I also myself shall come shortly.

²⁴Şi am încredere în Domnul că în curînd voi veni şi eu.

²⁵Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.

²⁵Am socotit de trebuinţă să vă trimet pe Epafrodit, fratele şi tovarăşul meu de lucru şi de luptă, trimesul şi slujitorul vostru pentru nevoile mele.

²⁶For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick.

²⁶Căci dorea ferbinte să vă vădă pe toţi; şi era foarte mîhnit, pentrucă aflaserăţi că a fost bolnav.

²⁷For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.

²⁷Ce -i drept, a fost bolnav, şi foarte aproape de moarte, dar Dumnezeu a avut milă de el. Şi nu numai de el, ci şi de mine, ca să n'am întristare peste întristare.

²⁸I sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.

²⁸L-am trimes dar cu atît mai în grabă, ca să -l vedeţi şi să vă bucuraţi iarăş, şi să fiu şi eu mai puţin mîhnit.

²⁹Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation:

²⁹Primiţi -l deci în Domnul, cu toată bucuria; şi preţuiţi pe astfel de oameni.

³⁰Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.

³⁰Căci pentru lucrul lui Hristos a fost el aproape de moarte, şi şi -a pus viaţa în joc, ca să împlinească ce lipsea slujbei voastre pentru mine.
