¹When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.

¹(O cîntare a treptelor.) Cînd a adus Domnul înapoi pe prinşii de război ai Sionului, parcă visam.

²Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.

²Atunci gura ne era plină de strigăte de bucurie, şi limba de cîntări de veselie. Atunci se spunea printre neamuri: ,,Domnul a făcut mari lucruri pentru ei!``

³The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.

³Da, Domnul a făcut mari lucruri pentru noi, şi deaceea sîntem plini de bucurie.

⁴Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south.

⁴Doamne, adu înapoi pe prinşii noştri de război, ca pe nişte rîuri în partea de miază zi!

⁵They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

⁵Cei ce samănă cu lăcrămi, vor secera cu cîntări de veselie.

⁶He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

⁶Cel ce umblă plîngînd, cînd aruncă sămînţa, se întoarce cu veselie, cînd îşi strînge snopii.
