¹Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;

¹(Către mai marele cîntăreţilor. Un psalm al lui David.) Scapă-mă, Doamne, de oamenii cei răi! Păzeşte-mă de oamenii asupritori,

²Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.

²cari cugetă lucruri rele în inima lor, şi sînt totdeauna gata să aţîţe războiul!

³They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.

³Ei îşi ascut limba ca un şarpe, au pe buze o otravă de năpîrcă. -

⁴Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.

⁴Păzeşte-mă, Doamne, de mîinile celui rău! Fereşte-mă de oamenii asupritori, cari se gîndesc să mă doboare!

⁵The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.

⁵Nişte îngîmfaţi îmi întind curse şi laţuri, pun reţele dealungul drumului, şi îmi întind capcane. -(Oprire).

⁶I said unto the LORD, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.

⁶Eu zic Domnului: ,,Tu eşti Dumnezeul meu! Ia aminte, Doamne, la glasul rugăciunilor mele!

⁷O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

⁷Doamne, Dumnezeule, tăria mîntuirii mele, Tu-mi acoperi capul în ziua luptei.``

⁸Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.

⁸Nu împlini, Doamne, dorinţele celui rău, nu lăsa să -i izbutească planurile, ca să nu se fălească! -(Oprire).

⁹As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

⁹Asupra capului celor ce mă înconjoară să cadă nelegiuirea buzelor lor!

¹⁰Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.

¹⁰Cărbuni aprinşi să cadă peste ei! În foc să fie aruncaţi, în adîncuri, de unde să nu se mai scoale!

¹¹Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

¹¹Omul cu limba mincinoasă nu se întăreşte pe pămînt, şi pe omul asupritor, nenorocirea îl paşte şi -l duce la pierzanie.

¹²I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.

¹²Ştiu că Domnul face dreptate celui obijduit, dreptate celor lipsiţi.

¹³Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

¹³Da, cei neprihăniţi vor lăuda Numele Tău, oamenii fără prihană vor locui înaintea Ta.
