¹In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.

¹(Către mai marele cîntăreţilor. Un psalm al lui David.) Doamne, în Tine mă încred: să nu fiu dat de ruşine niciodată. Izbăveşte-mă, în dreptatea Ta!

²Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me.

²Pleacă-Ţi urechea spre mine, grăbeşte de-mi ajută! Fii pentru mine o stîncă ocrotitoare, o cetăţuie unde să-mi găsesc scăparea!

³For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.

³Căci Tu eşti Stînca mea, Cetăţuia mea, şi, pentru Numele Tău, mă vei povăţui şi mă vei călăuzi.

⁴Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my strength.

⁴Scoate-mă din laţul, pe care mi l-au întins vrăjmaşii. Căci Tu eşti Ocrotitorul meu!

⁵Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.

⁵În mînile Tale îmi încredinţez duhul: Tu mă vei izbăvi, Doamne, Dumnezeule adevărate!

⁶I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the LORD.

⁶Eu urăsc pe ceice se lipesc de idoli deşerţi, şi mă încred în Domnul.

⁷I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities;

⁷Fă-mă să mă veselesc şi să mă bucur de îndurarea Ta, căci vezi ticăloşia mea, ştii neliniştea sufletului meu,

⁸And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large room.

⁸şi nu mă vei da în mînile vrăjmaşului, ci îmi vei pune picioarele la loc larg.

⁹Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.

⁹Ai milă de mine, Doamne, căci sînt în strîmtorare: faţa, sufletul, şi trupul mi s'au topit de întristare;

¹⁰For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.

¹⁰mi se sfîrşeşte viaţa în durere, şi anii în suspinuri. Mi s'au sleit puterile din pricina fărădelegii mele, şi-mi putrezesc oasele!

¹¹I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me.

¹¹Din pricina protivnicilor mei, am ajuns de ocară, de mare ocară pentru vecinii mei, şi de groază pentru prietenii mei; ceice mă văd pe uliţă, fug de mine.

¹²I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.

¹²Sînt uitat de inimi ca un mort, am ajuns ca un vas sfărîmat.

¹³For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.

¹³Aud vorbele rele ale multora, văd spaima care domneşte împrejur, cînd se sfătuiesc ei împreună împotriva mea, şi uneltesc să-mi ia viaţa.

¹⁴But I trusted in thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my God.

¹⁴Dar eu mă încred în Tine, Doamne, şi zic: ,,Tu eşti Dumnezeul meu!``

¹⁵My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.

¹⁵Soarta mea este în mîna Ta; scapă-mă de vrăjmaşii şi de prigonitorii mei!

¹⁶Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercies' sake.

¹⁶Fă să lumineze Faţa Ta peste robul Tău, scapă-mă, prin îndurarea Ta!

¹⁷Let me not be ashamed, O LORD; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave.

¹⁷Doamne, să nu rămîn de ruşine cînd Te chem. Ci să rămînă de ruşine cei răi, şi ei să se pogoare muţi în locuinţa morţilor!

¹⁸Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

¹⁸Să amuţească buzele mincinoase, cari vorbesc cu îndrăzneală, cu trufie şi dispreţ împotriva celui neprihănit!

¹⁹Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!

¹⁹O, cît de mare este bunătatea Ta, pe care o păstrezi pentru cei ce se tem de Tine, şi pe care o arăţi celor ce se încred în Tine, în faţa fiilor oamenilor!

²⁰Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.

²⁰Tu îi ascunzi, la adăpostul Feţei Tale, de cei ce -i prigonesc, îi ocroteşti în cortul Tău de limbile-cari -i clevetesc.

²¹Blessed be the LORD: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city.

²¹Binecuvîntat să fie Domnul, căci Şi -a arătat în chip minunat îndurarea faţă de mine: parc'aş fi fost într'o cetate întărită.

²²For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee.

²²În pornirea mea nechibzuită, ziceam: ,,Sînt izgonit dinaintea Ta!`` Dar Tu ai auzit glasul rugăciunilor mele, cînd am strigat spre Tine.

²³O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.

²³Iubiţi dar pe Domnul, toţi cei iubiţi de El. Căci Domnul păzeşte pe cei credincioşi, şi pedepseşte aspru pe cei mîndri.

²⁴Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.

²⁴Fiţi tari, şi îmbărbătaţi-vă inima, toţi cei ce nădăjduiţi în Domnul!
