¹But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

¹Tu însă, vorbeşte lucruri cari se potrivesc cu învăţătura sănătoasă.

²That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

²Spune că cei bătrîni trebuie să fie treji, vrednici de cinste, cumpătaţi, sănătoşi în credinţă, în dragoste, în răbdare.

³The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

³Spune că femeile în vîrstă trebuie să aibă o purtare cuvincioasă, să nu fie nici clevetitoare, nici dedate la vin; să înveţe pe alţii ce este bine,

⁴That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

⁴ca să înveţe pe femeile mai tinere să-şi iubească bărbaţi şi copiii;

⁵To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

⁵să fie cumpătate, cu viaţa curată, să-şi vadă de treburile casei, să fie bune, supuse bărbaţilor lor, pentruca să nu se vorbească de rău Cuvîntul lui Dumnezeu.

⁶Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.

⁶Sfătuieşte de asemenea pe tineri să fie cumpătaţi,

⁷In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,

⁷şi dă-te pe tine însuţi pildă de fapte bune, în toate privinţele. Iar în învăţătură, dă dovadă de curăţie, de vrednicie,

⁸Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

⁸de vorbire sănătoasă şi fără cusur, ca protivnicul să rămînă de ruşine, şi să nu poată să spună nimic rău de noi.

⁹Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;

⁹Sfătuieşte pe robi să fie supuşi stăpînilor lor, să le fie pe plac în toate lucrurile, să nu le întoarcă vorba,

¹⁰Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

¹⁰să nu fure nimic, ci totdeauna să dea dovadă de o desăvîrşită credincioşie, ca să facă în totul cinste învăţăturii lui Dumnezeu, Mîntuitorul nostru.

¹¹For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

¹¹Căci harul lui Dumnezeu, care aduce mîntuire pentru toţi oamenii, a fost arătat,

¹²Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

¹²şi ne învaţă s'o rupem cu păgînătatea şi cu poftele lumeşti, şi să trăim în veacul de acum cu cumpătare, dreptate şi evlavie,

¹³Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

¹³aşteptînd fericita noastră nădejde şi arătarea slavei marelui nostru Dumnezeu şi Mîntuitor Isus Hristos.

¹⁴Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

¹⁴El S'a dat pe Sine însuş pentru noi, ca să ne răscumpere din orice fărădelege, şi să-Şi curăţească un norod care să fie al Lui, plin de rîvnă pentru fapte bune.

¹⁵These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

¹⁵Spune lucrurile acestea, sfătuieşte şi mustră cu deplină putere. Nimeni să nu te dispreţuiască.
