¹And Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem.

¹A keď sa navracoval Jozafat, judský kráľ, do svojho domu v pokoji, do Jeruzalema,

²And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the LORD? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the LORD.

²vyšiel mu v ústrety Jehu, syn Chananiho, vidiaci, a povedal kráľovi Jozafatovi: Či si mal ísť pomáhať bezbožnému a tých, ktorí nenávidia Hospodina, budeš milovať? Pre to sa zapálil na teba hnev zpred Hospodina.

³Nevertheless there are good things found in thee, in that thou hast taken away the groves out of the land, and hast prepared thine heart to seek God.

³Avšak našly sa pri tebe i dobré veci, lebo si odpratal háje zo zeme a ustavil si svoje srdce hľadať Boha.

⁴And Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem: and he went out again through the people from Beersheba to mount Ephraim, and brought them back unto the LORD God of their fathers.

⁴A Jozafat býval v Jeruzaleme. A zase vyšiel medzi ľud a pochodil všade od Bér-šeby až po pohorie Efraimovo a navrátil ich k Hospodinovi, Bohu otcov.

⁵And he set judges in the land throughout all the fenced cities of Judah, city by city,

⁵A postavil sudcov v zemi vo všetkých ohradených mestách Judska, v každom meste.

⁶And said to the judges, Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment.

⁶A riekol sudcom: Vidzte, čo robíte: lebo nesúdite za človeka, ale za Hospodina, ktorý je s vami pri vykonávaní súdu.

⁷Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.

⁷Preto teraz nech je strach Hospodinov na vás. Ostríhajte a čiňte. Lebo u Hospodina, nášho Boha, nieto neprávosti, ani nehľadí na osobu ani neprijme úplatného daru.

⁸Moreover in Jerusalem did Jehoshaphat set of the Levites, and of the priests, and of the chief of the fathers of Israel, for the judgment of the LORD, and for controversies, when they returned to Jerusalem.

⁸Ba aj v Jeruzaleme postavil Jozafat niektorých z Levitov a kňazov a z hláv otcov Izraelových k súdu Hospodinovmu a riešiť pravoty. Potom sa on i jeho ľudia navrátili do Jeruzalema.

⁹And he charged them, saying, Thus shall ye do in the fear of the LORD, faithfully, and with a perfect heart.

⁹A prikázal im a povedal: Tak robte v bázni Hospodinovej, verne a úprimným srdcom.

¹⁰And what cause soever shall come to you of your brethren that dwell in your cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and judgments, ye shall even warn them that they trespass not against the LORD, and so wrath come upon you, and upon your brethren: this do, and ye shall not trespass.

¹⁰A pri každej pravote, ktorá prijde pred vás od vašich bratov, ktorí bývajú vo svojich mestách, v ktorej treba rozsúdiť medzi krvou a krvou, medzi zákonom a prikázaním, čo do ustanovení a súdov, poučíte ich, aby nehrešili proti Hospodinovi, a aby neprišiel na vás hnev a na vašich bratov. Tak robte a nezhrešíte.

¹¹And, behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of the LORD; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, for all the king's matters: also the Levites shall be officers before you. Deal courageously, and the LORD shall be with the good.

¹¹A hľa, Amariáš, najvyšší kňaz, bude nad vami vo všetkých veciach Hospodinových a Zebadiáš, syn Izmaelov, vojvoda domu Júdovho, vo všetkých veciach kráľových, a správcovia Levitovia sú pred vami. Buďte zmužilí a konajte! A Hospodin bude s tým, kto bude dobrý.
