¹Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house.

¹A keď sa prestal Šalamún modliť, sostúpil oheň s nebies a strávil zápalnú obeť ako aj iné bitné obeti, a sláva Hospodinova naplnila dom,

²And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD's house.

²takže nemohli kňazi vojsť do domu Hospodinovho, lebo sláva Hospodinova naplnila dom Hospodinov.

³And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

³A všetci synovia Izraelovi hľadeli na to, keď sostupoval oheň i sláva Hospodinova na dom, a skloniac sa na kolená padli tvárou k zemi na dlažbu, klaňali sa a oslavovali Hospodina, že je dobrý, že jeho milosť trvá na veky.

⁴Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the LORD.

⁴Pritom kráľ a všetok ľud obetovali bitnú obeť pred Hospodinom.

⁵And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep: so the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.

⁵A kráľ Šalamún obetoval bitnú obeť, dvadsaťdva tisíc volov a oviec sto dvadsať tisíc, a tak posvätili dom Boží kráľ i všetok ľud.

⁶And the priests waited on their offices: the Levites also with instruments of music of the LORD, which David the king had made to praise the LORD, because his mercy endureth for ever, when David praised by their ministry; and the priests sounded trumpets before them, and all Israel stood.

⁶A kňazi stáli pri svojich úradoch i Levitovia s nástrojami ku sprievodu spevu Hospodinovho, ktorých narobil kráľ Dávid oslavovať Hospodina, pretože jeho milosť trvá na veky, keď chválil Dávid Hospodina skrze nich, a kňazi trúbili naproti nim, a celý Izrael, všetci stáli.

⁷Moreover Solomon hallowed the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the brazen altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt offerings, and the meat offerings, and the fat.

⁷A Šalamún posvätil prostredok dvora, ktorý je pred domom Hospodinovým, lebo tam obetoval zápalné obeti i tuky pokojných obetí, pretože medený oltár, ktorý spravil Šalamún, nestačil pojať zápal a obilný dar obetný a tuky.

⁸Also at the same time Solomon kept the feast seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt.

⁸A tedy slávil Šalamún slávnosť toho času sedem dní a celý Izrael s ním, shromaždenie, veľmi veliké, sídené z celej zeme, odtiaľ, ako sa ide do Chamatu, až po Egyptský potok.

⁹And in the eighth day they made a solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days.

⁹Potom ôsmeho dňa slávili zvláštnu slávnosť, lebo posviacku oltára slávili sedem dní a ináče slávnosť sedem dní.

¹⁰And on the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away into their tents, glad and merry in heart for the goodness that the LORD had showed unto David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people.

¹⁰A dvadsiateho tretieho dňa siedmeho mesiaca prepustil ľud, všetkých do ich stánov, radujúcich sa a veselého srdca pre dobré, ktoré učinil Hospodin Dávidovi a Šalamúnovi a Izraelovi, svojmu ľudu.

¹¹Thus Solomon finished the house of the LORD, and the king's house: and all that came into Solomon's heart to make in the house of the LORD, and in his own house, he prosperously effected.

¹¹A tak dostavil Šalamún dom Hospodinov i dom kráľov, i všetko, čo bolo prišlo na srdce Šalamúnovo, aby to učinil v dome Hospodinovom i vo svojom dome, sa mu podarilo.

¹²And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.

¹²Potom sa ukázal Hospodin Šalamúnovi vnoci a riekol mu: Počul som tvoju modlitbu a vyvolil som si toto miesto sebe za dom bitnej obeti.

¹³If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;

¹³Keby som zavrel nebesia, a nebolo by dažďa, a keby som rozkázal kobylkám, aby požraly úrody zeme, a keby som poslal mor na svoj ľud,

¹⁴If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

¹⁴a keby sa zohnul, a tak sa pokoril môj ľud, nad ktorým je vzývané moje meno, a keby sa modlili a hľadali by moju tvár a odvrátili by sa od svojich zlých ciest, ja vyslyším z nebies, odpustím ich hriech a uzdravím ich zem.

¹⁵Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.

¹⁵Tedy teraz budú moje oči otvorené a moje uši pripravené počuť modlitbu z tohoto miesta.

¹⁶For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.

¹⁶A tak teraz som si vyvolil a posvätil som tento dom, aby tam bolo moje meno až na veky, a moje oči a moje srdce tam budú po všetky dni.

¹⁷And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe my statutes and my judgments;

¹⁷A ty, ak budeš chodiť predo mnou, jako chodil Dávid, tvoj otec, tak aby si činil podľa všetkého toho, čo som ti prikázal, a budeš ostríhať moje ustanovenia a moje súdy,

¹⁸Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.

¹⁸postavím pevne trón tvojho kráľovstva, jako som učinil smluvu s Dávidom, tvojím otcom, povediac: Nebude ti vyhladený muž, ktorý by panoval v Izraelovi.

¹⁹But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;

¹⁹Ale ak sa vy odvrátite a opustíte moje ustanovenia a moje prikázania, ktoré som dal pred vás, a jestli odíduc budete slúžiť iným bohom a budete sa im klaňať:

²⁰Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations.

²⁰vyplienim ich, takých ľudí, zo svojej zeme, ktorú som im dal, i tento dom, ktorý som posvätil svojmu menu, odvrhnem od svojej tvári a dám ho za príslovie a za rezavý posmech medzi všetkými národami.

²¹And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and unto this house?

²¹A tento dom, ktorý bol taký vyvýšený, spustne, takže každý, kto pojde popri ňom, sa zdesí a povie: Prečo tak učinil Hospodin tejto zemi a tomuto domu?

²²And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.

²²A rieknu: Preto, že opustili Hospodina, Boha svojich otcov, ktorý ich vyviedol z Egyptskej zeme, a chopili sa iných bohov a klaňali sa im a slúžili im, preto uviedol na nich všetko toto zlé.
