¹In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.

¹V tých dňoch onemocnel Ezechiáš na smrť. A prišiel k nemu Izaiáš, syn Ámosov, prorok, a riekol mu: Takto hovorí Hospodin: Zriaď svoj dom, lebo zomrieš a nebudeš žiť.

²Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, saying,

²A obrátil svoju tvár ku stene a modlil sa Hospodinovi a povedal:

³I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

³Prosím, ó, Hospodine, rozpomeň sa na to, že som chodil pred tebou v pravde a celým srdcom úprimným a robil som to, čo je dobré v tvojich očiach.- A Ezechiáš plakal veľmi.

⁴And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying,

⁴A stalo sa, keď ešte nebol vyšiel Izaiáš ani do prostredného dvora, že stalo sa k nemu slovo Hospodinovo povediac:

⁵Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.

⁵Vráť sa a povedz Ezechiášovi, vodcovi môjho ľudu: Takto hovorí Hospodin, Bôh Dávida, tvojho otca: Počul som tvoju modlitbu, videl som tvoje slzy. Hľa, uzdravím ťa; tretieho dňa vyjdeš hore do domu Hospodinovho.

⁶And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.

⁶A pridám ku tvojim dňom pätnásť rokov a z ruky assýrskeho kráľa ťa vytrhnem i toto mesto a budem chrániť toto mesto pre seba a pre Dávida, svojho služobníka.

⁷And Isaiah said, Take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.

⁷A Izaiáš riekol: Vezmite hrudu suchých fíkov. A vzali a priložili na vred, a bol uzdravený a žil.

⁸And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of the LORD the third day?

⁸A Ezechiáš povedal Izaiášovi: Čo bude znamením toho, že ma uzdraví Hospodin, a že tretieho dňa vyjdem hore do domu Hospodinovho?

⁹And Isaiah said, This sign shalt thou have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees?

⁹Na to riekol Izaiáš: Toto ti bude znamením od Hospodina, že Hospodin učiní vec, ktorú hovoril: Či chceš, aby tieň postúpil o desať stupňov a či aby sa vrátil o desať stupňov a či by sa vrátil o desať stupňov?

¹⁰And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees.

¹⁰A Ezechiáš odpovedal: Ľahko je tieňu nakloniť sa a tak postúpiť o desať stupňov. Nie tak, ale nech sa tieň vráti o desať stupňov nazpät.

¹¹And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.

¹¹Vtedy volal prorok Izaiáš k Hospodinovi, a navrátil tieň po stupňoch, ktorý bol sišiel na slnečných hodinách Achazových, nazpät o desať stupňov.-

¹²At that time Berodachbaladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah: for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick.

¹²V tom čase poslal Berodach Baladán, syn Baladánov, babylonský kráľ, Ezechiášovi list a dar, pretože počul, že bol Ezechiáš nemocný.

¹³And Hezekiah hearkened unto them, and showed them all the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armor, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah showed them not.

¹³A Ezechiáš ich vypočul a ukázal im všetky schrany svojich klenotov, striebro i zlato, voňavé veci aj výborný olej i svoju zbrojáreň i všetko, čo sa nachádzalo v jeho pokladoch; nebolo ničoho, čo by im nebol Ezechiáš ukázal vo svojom dome i v celom svojom panstve.

¹⁴Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country, even from Babylon.

¹⁴Potom prišiel prorok Izaiáš ku kráľovi Ezechiášovi a riekol mu: Čo povedali tí mužovia a odkiaľ prišli k tebe? A Ezechiáš povedal: Prišli z ďalekej zeme, z Babylona.

¹⁵And he said, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All the things that are in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not showed them.

¹⁵A riekol: Čo videli v tvojom dome? A Ezechiáš povedal: Videli všetko, čo je v mojom dome. Nie je ničoho v mojich pokladoch, čoho by som im nebol ukázal.

¹⁶And Isaiah said unto Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD.

¹⁶Vtedy riekol Izaiáš Ezechiášovi: Počuj slovo Hospodinovo!

¹⁷Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store unto this day, shall be carried into Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.

¹⁷Hľa, prijdú dni, že všetko, čo je v tvojom dome, a čo nashromaždili tvoji otcovia až do tohoto dňa, bude odnesené do Babylona; nič nezostane, hovorí Hospodin.

¹⁸And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.

¹⁸Aj z tvojich synov, ktorí pojdú z teba, ktorých splodíš, vezmú niektorých, a budú komorníkmi v paláci babylonského kráľa.

¹⁹Then said Hezekiah unto Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. And he said, Is it not good, if peace and truth be in my days?

¹⁹Na to povedal Ezechiáš Izaiášovi: Dobré je slovo Hospodinovo, ktoré si hovoril. A ešte povedal: Lebo či nie je dobré, akže pokoj a pravda bude za mojich dní?

²⁰And the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made a pool, and a conduit, and brought water into the city, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

²⁰A ostatné deje Ezechiášove a všetka jeho udatnosť a jako spravil rybník a vodovod a voviedol vodu do mesta, či nie je to napísané v knihe letopisov kráľov Júdových?

²¹And Hezekiah slept with his fathers: and Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.

²¹A tak ľahol Ezechiáš a ležal so svojimi otcami, a kraľoval Manasses, jeho syn, miesto neho.
