¹And after this it came to pass that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them: and David took Methegammah out of the hand of the Philistines.

¹Potom sa stalo, že Dávid porazil Filištínov a zohnul ich. A Dávid vzal mesto Meteg-amma z ruky Filištínov.

²And he smote Moab, and measured them with a line, casting them down to the ground; even with two lines measured he to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And so the Moabites became David's servants, and brought gifts.

²A porazil aj Moába a odmeral ich merným lanom poveliac im ľahnúť na zem a tak odmeral dve merné laná na zabitie a jedno celé lano na to, aby boli ponechaní žiť... A tak sa stali Moábänia Dávidovi služobníkmi, donášajúcimi dary.

³David smote also Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his border at the river Euphrates.

³A Dávid porazil aj Hadad-ézera, syna Rechobovho, kráľa Cóby, keď išiel, aby znova dobyl panstvo na poriečí Eufrata.

⁴And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David houghed all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for an hundred chariots.

⁴Dávid zajal od neho tisíc a sedemsto jazdcov a dvadsať tisíc mužov peších. A Dávid popodrezoval koňom od všetkých vozov žily a ponechal z toho koní pre sto vozov.

⁵And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succor Hadadezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.

⁵A keď prišiel Aram, Sýr z Damašku, pomôcť Hadadézerovi, kráľovi Cóby, porazil Dávid z Arama dvadsaťdva tisíc mužov.

⁶Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought gifts. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.

⁶A Dávid osadil posádky v Damašskom Aramejsku. A tak boli Aramejci Dávidovi služobníkmi, donášajúcimi dary. A Hospodin chránil Dávida všade, kamkoľvek išiel.

⁷And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.

⁷Potom pobral Dávid zlaté štíty, ktoré mali služobníci Hadadézerovi, a dopravil ich do Jeruzalema.

⁸And from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.

⁸A z Bétachu a Berótaja, z miest Hadadézerových, pobral kráľ Dávid veľmi mnoho medi.

⁹When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadadezer,

⁹A keď počul Toj, kráľ Chamatu, že Dávid porazil všetko vojsko Hadadézerovo,

¹⁰Then Toi sent Joram his son unto king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer, and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:

¹⁰poslal Toj Jorama, svojho syna, ku kráľovi Dávidovi, aby ho pozdravil a aby mu blahoželal, že šťastne bojoval proti Hadadézerovi a porazil ho, lebo Hadadézer viedol vojny s Tojom. A Joram doniesol so sebou strieborné nádoby a zlaté nádoby a medené nádoby.

¹¹Which also king David did dedicate unto the LORD, with the silver and gold that he had dedicated of all nations which he subdued;

¹¹Aj tie zasvätil kráľ Dávid Hospodinovi so striebrom a zlatom, ktoré zasvätil, nadobudnuté od všetkých národov, ktoré podmanil,

¹²Of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.

¹³And David gat him a name when he returned from smiting of the Syrians in the valley of salt, being eighteen thousand men.

¹³Takým činom si učinil Dávid slávne meno, keď sa navrátil od porazenia Arama v Soľnej doline, kde porazil osemnásť tisíc.

¹⁴And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all they of Edom became David's servants. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.

¹⁴A osadil v Edomei posádky, po celej Edomei osadil posádky. A všetci Edomejci stali sa služobníkmi Dávidovými. A tak tedy chránil Hospodin Dávida všade, kamkoľvek išiel.

¹⁵And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed judgment and justice unto all his people.

¹⁵A Dávid kraľoval nad celým Izraelom a činil súd a spravedlivosť všetkému svojmu ľudu.

¹⁶And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;

¹⁶A Joáb, syn Ceruje, bol postavený nad vojskom, a Jozafat, syn Achilúdov, bol kancelárom.

¹⁷And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Seraiah was the scribe;

¹⁷Cádok, syn Achitúbov, a Achimelech, syn Ebiatárov, boli kňazmi, a Seraja bol pisárom.

¹⁸And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were chief rulers.

¹⁸A Benaiáš, syn Jehojadov, a Keréťania a Peléťania, a synovia Dávidovi boli prostredkujúcimi úradníkmi dvornými.
