¹And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.

¹A prišli niektorí z Judska dolu a učili bratov, že vraj jestli sa neobrežete podľa obyčaje Mojžišovej, nemôžete byť spasení.

²When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.

²A keď preto povstala vzbura a nemalá hádka Pavlovi a Barnabášovi s nimi, ustanovili, aby Pavel a Barnabáš a ešte niektorí iní z nich išli k apoštolom a starším hore do Jeruzalema o tento spor.

³And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.

³A oni tedy vyprevadení súc od sboru išli cez Feníciu a Samáriu rozprávajúc o obrátení pohanov a pôsobili všetkým bratom velikú radosť.

⁴And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.

⁴A keď prišli do Jeruzalema, boli prijatí od sboru aj od apoštolov aj od starších a zvestovali, čo všetko učinil s nimi Bôh.

⁵But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.

⁵Ale vraj povstali niektorí zo sekty farizeov, ktorí uverili, a hovoria, že sa musia obrezovať, a že sa im má prikázať, aby zachovávali zákon Mojžišov.

⁶And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.

⁶Vtedy sa sišli apoštolovia a starší, aby videli a uvážili o tej veci.

⁷And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

⁷A po mnohom dohadovaní sa povstal Peter a povedal im: Mužovia bratia, vy viete, že si Bôh od dávnych dňov vyvolil medzi nami, aby skrze moje ústa počuli pohania slovo evanjelia a uverili.

⁸And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;

⁸A Bôh, ktorý zná srdce, im dal svedoctvo dajúc im Svätého Ducha jako i nám

⁹And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

⁹a neurobil nijakého rozdielu medzi nami a medzi nimi očistiac vierou ich srdcia.

¹⁰Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

¹⁰A tak teraz čo pokúšate Boha chcúc vzložiť jarmo na krk učeníkom, ktoré ani naši otcovia ani my sme nevládali uniesť?

¹¹But we believe that through the grace of the LORD Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

¹¹Ale veríme, že skrze milosť Pána Ježiša Krista budeme spasení na ten istý spôsob ako aj oni.

¹²Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.

¹²A umĺklo všetko množstvo a počúvali Barnabáša a Pavla, ktorí vyprávali, jaké mnohé divy a zázraky činil Bôh skrze nich medzi pohanmi.

¹³And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me:

¹³A keď umĺkli, odpovedal Jakob a povedal: Mužovia bratia, počujte ma!

¹⁴Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.

¹⁴Šimon práve rozprával, ako Bôh najprv pohliadol, aby vzal z pohanov ľud na svoje meno.

¹⁵And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,

¹⁵A s tým sa srovnávajú slová prorokov, ako je napísané:

¹⁶After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:

¹⁶Potom sa navrátim a zase vystavím padlý stán Dávidov i jeho zboreniny znova vybudujem a postavím ho rovno,

¹⁷That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.

¹⁷aby pozostalí z ľudí vyhľadali Pána i všetky národy, nad ktorými bolo vzývané moje meno, hovorí Pán ktorý činí toto všetko.

¹⁸Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.

¹⁸Známe sú Bohu od veku všetky jeho diela.

¹⁹Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:

¹⁹Preto ja súdim neznepokojovať tých, ktorí sa z pohanov obracajú k Bohu,

²⁰But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.

²⁰ale napísať im, aby sa zdŕžali od poškvŕn modiel a od smilstva, od zaduseného a od krvi.

²¹For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

²¹Lebo Mojžiš má od dávnych pokolení po mestách tých, ktorí ho hlásajú, a číta sa po synagógach každú sobotu.

²²Then pleased it the apostles and elders with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas and Silas, chief men among the brethren:

²²Vtedy sa videlo za dobré apoštolom a starším s celou cirkvou vyvoliť si spomedzi seba mužov a poslať ich do Antiochie s Pavlom a Barnabášom, Júdu, zvaného Barsabáša, a Sílasa, mužov, vedúcich medzi bratmi,

²³And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia.

²³a napísali po nich toto: Apoštolovia a starší a bratia pozdravujú bratov z pohanov, bratov, ktorí sú v Antiochii, Sýrii a Cilícii.

²⁴Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:

²⁴Pretože sme počuli, že niektorí z nás vyjdúc znepokojili vás rečami a rozvracajú vaše duše hovoriac, že sa musíte obrezovať a zachovávať zákon, ktorým sme toho nenaručili,

²⁵It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,

²⁵videlo sa nám za dobré, prišedším na jednu myseľ, vybrať si mužov a poslať ich k vám s našimi milovanými, s Barnabášom a Pavlom,

²⁶Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁶s ľuďmi to, ktorí vydali svoje životy za meno nášho Pána Ježiša Krista.

²⁷We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.

²⁷Poslali sme tedy Júdu a Sílasa, ktorí aj sami ústne povedia to isté.

²⁸For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;

²⁸Lebo za dobré sa videlo Svätému Duchu i nám neuvaľovať na vás viacej nijakého bremena krome toho nevyhnuteľne potrebného:

²⁹That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

²⁹zdržovať sa od obetovaného modlám, od krvi, od zaduseného a od smilstva, čoho keď sa budete veľmi vystríhať, budete dobre robiť. Buďte zdraví!

³⁰So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:

³⁰A tak oni súc prepustení prišli dolu do Antiochie a shromaždiac množstvo podali list.

³¹Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.

³¹A keď prečítali, zaradovali sa potešeniu.

³²And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them.

³²A Júdas a Sílas, ktorí boli aj sami prorokmi, napomínali bratov mnohými slovami a upevňovali.

³³And after they had tarried there a space, they were let go in peace from the brethren unto the apostles.

³³A keď tam pobudli nejaký čas, boli prepustení od bratov s pokojom k tým, ktorí ich poslali.

³⁴Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to abide there still.

³⁴Ale Sílasovi sa videlo za dobré zostať tu.

³⁵Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.

³⁵A Pavel a Barnabáš zdržovali sa v Antiochii učiac a zvestujúc, aj s mnohými inými, slovo Pánovo.

³⁶And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the LORD, and see how they do.

³⁶A po niekoľkých dňoch povedal Pavel Barnabášovi: Nože sa vráťme a ponavštevujme svojich bratov po všetkých mestách, v ktorých sme zvestovali slovo Pánovo, a vidzme, jako sa majú.

³⁷And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.

³⁷A Barnabáš radil, aby pojali so sebou i Jána, zvaného Marka.

³⁸But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.

³⁸Ale Pavel uznával za správne nepojímať so sebou toho, ktorý odišiel od nich z Pamfýlie a neišiel s nimi k dielu.

³⁹And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;

³⁹A z toho povstalo také roznietenie, že sa rozišli, a že Barnabáš pojal so sebou Marka a odplavil sa do Cypru,

⁴⁰And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.

⁴⁰a Pavel si zvolil k sebe Sílasa a odišiel tiež poručený súc od bratov milosti Pánovej a chodil po Sýrii a Cilícii a upevňoval sbory.

⁴¹And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.
