¹And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.

¹A toto je požehnanie, ktorým požehnal Mojžiš, muž Boží, synov Izraelových pred svojou smrťou

²And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them.

²a riekol: Hospodin prišiel od Sinai a vzišiel im od Seira jako svetlo rána, zaskvel sa od vrchu Fárana a prišiel z myriád svätých. Z jeho pravice im svietil oheň zákona.

³Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words.

³Ako veľmi miluješ ľudí! Všetci jeho svätí sú v tvojej ruke, a oni sa kladú k tvojim nohám. Každý si odnáša užitok z tvojich rečí.

⁴Moses commanded us a law, even the inheritance of the congregation of Jacob.

⁴Zákon nám prikázal zachovávať Mojžiš, dedičný majetok shromaždenia Jakobovho.

⁵And he was king in Jeshurun, when the heads of the people and the tribes of Israel were gathered together.

⁵A bol v Ješurúne jako kráľ, keď sa shromažďovaly hlavy, kniežatá ľudu, dovedna pokolenia Izraelove.

⁶Let Reuben live, and not die; and let not his men be few.

⁶Nech žije Rúben a nech nezomrie, a z jeho málo mužov nech je veľký počet.

⁷And this is the blessing of Judah: and he said, Hear, LORD, the voice of Judah, and bring him unto his people: let his hands be sufficient for him; and be thou an help to him from his enemies.

⁷A toto žiadal Júdovi a riekol: Uslyš, Hospodine, hlas Júdov a priveď ho k jeho ľudu. Svojimi rukami bude bojovať zaň, a ty mu buď pomocou vyslobodiť ho od jeho protivníkov.

⁸And of Levi he said, Let thy Thummim and thy Urim be with thy holy one, whom thou didst prove at Massah, and with whom thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah;

⁸A o Lévim povedal: Tvoje thumím a tvoje urím boly dané, ó, Pane, tvojmu svätému mužovi, ktorého si zkúsil v Masse, s ktorým si mal spolu svár pri vodách Meríba,

⁹Who said unto his father and to his mother, I have not seen him; neither did he acknowledge his brethren, nor knew his own children: for they have observed thy word, and kept thy covenant.

⁹ktorý povedal o svojom otcovi a o svojej materi: Nevidel som ho! A neznal svojich bratov ani nevedel o svojich synoch; lebo ostríhali tvoje reči a zachovávali tvoju smluvu.

¹⁰They shall teach Jacob thy judgments, and Israel thy law: they shall put incense before thee, and whole burnt sacrifice upon thine altar.

¹⁰Vyučovať budú tvojim súdom Jakoba a tvojmu zákonu Izraela; klásť budú kadivo pred tvoju tvár a zápalnú obeť dokonalú na tvoj oltár.

¹¹Bless, LORD, his substance, and accept the work of his hands; smite through the loins of them that rise against him, and of them that hate him, that they rise not again.

¹¹Požehnaj, Hospodine, jeho silu, a nech sa ti ľúbi práca jeho rúk! Poraz bedrá tých, ktorí by povstali proti nemu, i bedrá tých, ktorí ho nenávidia, tak aby nepovstali.

¹²And of Benjamin he said, The beloved of the LORD shall dwell in safety by him; and the Lord shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders.

¹²Benjaminovi povedal: Milý Hospodinov! Bezpečne bude bývať s ním; bude ho ochraňovať každého dňa, a bude prebývať medzi jeho plecami.

¹³And of Joseph he said, Blessed of the LORD be his land, for the precious things of heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that coucheth beneath,

¹³A Jozefovi povedal: Jeho zem je požehnaná Hospodinova pre skvostné veci nebies, pre rosu a pre bohatú priepasť, ktorá sa rozkladá hlboko dole,

¹⁴And for the precious fruits brought forth by the sun, and for the precious things put forth by the moon,

¹⁴pre skvostné úrody slnka a pre skvostné veci, vyhnané mesiacmi,

¹⁵And for the chief things of the ancient mountains, and for the precious things of the lasting hills,

¹⁵pre najprednejšie veci starodávnych vrchov a pre skvostné veci večných brehov,

¹⁶And for the precious things of the earth and fulness thereof, and for the good will of him that dwelt in the bush: let the blessing come upon the head of Joseph, and upon the top of the head of him that was separated from his brethren.

¹⁶pre skvostné veci zeme a jej náplne a pre milostivú priazeň toho, ktorý prebýva v kre. Nech to všetko prijde na hlavu Jozefovu a na temeno hlavy toho, ktorý je nazarejom, oddeleným, svojich bratov.

¹⁷His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.

¹⁷Ako prvorodené jeho vola, takú bude mať nádheru, a jeho rohy budú jako rohy jednorožca; nimi bude drgať národy napospol, až do končín zeme. A to budú myriády Efraima, a budú to tisíce Manassesa.

¹⁸And of Zebulun he said, Rejoice, Zebulun, in thy going out; and, Issachar, in thy tents.

¹⁸A Zabulonovi povedal: Raduj sa, Zabulone, keď budeš vychádzať, a, Izachár, vo svojich stánoch!

¹⁹They shall call the people unto the mountain; there they shall offer sacrifices of righteousness: for they shall suck of the abundance of the seas, and of treasures hid in the sand.

¹⁹Národy budú svolávať na vrch Boží, tam budú obetovať bitné obeti spravedlivosti, lebo budú ssať hojnosť morí a skryté poklady piesku mora.

²⁰And of Gad he said, Blessed be he that enlargeth Gad: he dwelleth as a lion, and teareth the arm with the crown of the head.

²⁰Gádovi povedal: Požehnaný ten, ktorý rozširuje Gáda! Bude bývať vo svojom obydlí jako ľvica a uchvatne rameno, áno, i s temenom hlavy.

²¹And he provided the first part for himself, because there, in a portion of the lawgiver, was he seated; and he came with the heads of the people, he executed the justice of the LORD, and his judgments with Israel.

²¹Vyhliadol si prvotinu, lebo tam je podiel zákonodarcu, skrytý, a prijde s hlavami ľudu a bude činiť spravedlivosť Hospodinovu i jeho súdy s Izraelom.

²²And of Dan he said, Dan is a lion's whelp: he shall leap from Bashan.

²²Dánovi povedal: Dán je ako ľvíča, na lúpež bude vyskakovať z Bázana.

²³And of Naphtali he said, O Naphtali, satisfied with favor, and full with the blessing of the LORD: possess thou the west and the south.

²³Naftalimu povedal: Naftali je nasýtený priazne Pána a plný požehnania Hospodinovho. Zaujmi do dedičstva more, západ, i juh.

²⁴And of Asher he said, Let Asher be blessed with children; let him be acceptable to his brethren, and let him dip his foot in oil.

²⁴A Aserovi povedal: Požehnaný Aser nad iných synov. Nech má priazeň svojich bratov a nech máča svoju nohu v oleji.

²⁵Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.

²⁵Železo a meď sú tvoje závory, a jako tvoje dni, tak i tvoja sila.

²⁶There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.

²⁶Nie je takého, jako je silný Bôh, ó, Ješurúne, ktorý sa vznáša na nebesiach tebe na pomoc a vo svojej velebe na vysokých oblakoch.

²⁷The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.

²⁷Tvojím príbytkom je Bôh praveku, a dole na pomoc ramená večnosti. Zaženie od tvojej tvári nepriateľa a povie: Zahlaď!

²⁸Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew.

²⁸A tak bude bývať Izrael bezpečne, osobitne prameň Jakobov, v zemi obilia a šťavy hrozna, áno, jeho nebesia budú kropiť rosou.

²⁹Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.

²⁹Blahoslavený si, Izraelu! Kto je podobný tebe, ľude, zachránený Hospodinom, štítom svojej pomoci, a ktorý je mečom, tvojou pýchou! Preto sa ti budú lichotne koriť tvoji nepriatelia. A ty budeš šliapať po ich výšinách.
