¹All the commandments which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers.

¹Každé prikázanie, ktoré ti ja prikazujem dnes, budete ostríhať, aby ste ich činili, aby ste žili a rozmnožili sa a aby ste vošli a zaujali do dedičstva zem, ktorú prisahal Hospodin vašim otcom.

²And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

²A budeš pamätať na všetky cesty, ktorými ťa viedol Hospodin, tvoj Bôh, toto už štyridsať rokov po púšti, aby ťa ponížil, aby ťa zkúsil, aby sa zvedelo, čo je v tvojom srdci, či budeš ostríhať jeho prikázania a či nie.

³And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

³A ponížil ťa a dopustil na teba hlad a potom ťa kŕmil mannou, ktorej si neznal, ani jej neznali tvoji otcovia, aby ti dal vedieť, že nie na samom chlebe žiť bude človek, ale na všetkom tom, čo vychádza z úst Hospodinových, žiť bude človek.

⁴Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years.

⁴Tvoje rúcho nezvetšelo na tebe, a tvoja noha neopuchla toto už štyridsať rokov.

⁵Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the LORD thy God chasteneth thee.

⁵A budeš vedieť vo svojom srdci, že jako človek kázni svojho syna, tak Hospodin, tvoj Bôh, kázni teba.

⁶Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.

⁶A tedy budeš ostríhať prikázania Hospodina, svojho Boha, aby si chodil po jeho cestách a aby si sa ho bál.

⁷For the LORD thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills;

⁷Lebo Hospodin, tvoj Bôh, ťa vovedie do krásnej zeme dobrej, do zeme potokov, ktoré majú hojnosť vody, do zeme pramenných studieň a hlbín, vyvierajúcich po údoliach i po vrchoch,

⁸A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey;

⁸do zeme pšenice, jačmeňa, viníc, fíkov a granátových jabĺk, do zeme olejových olív a medu,

⁹A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass.

⁹do zeme, v ktorej nebudeš jesť chleba po chudobne; nebudeš v nej mať ničoho nedostatku, v zemi, ktorej kamene sú železo, a z jej vrchov budeš sekať meď.

¹⁰When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.

¹⁰A keď budeš jesť a nasýtiš sa, budeš dobrorečiť Hospodinovi, svojmu Bohu, na tej krásnej zemi dobrej, ktorú ti dal.

¹¹Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:

¹¹Vystríhaj sa, aby si nezabudol na Hospodina, svojho Boha, takže by si neostríhal jeho prikázaní, jeho súdov a jeho ustanovení, ktoré ti ja prikazujem dnes!

¹²Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein;

¹²Aby snáď, keď budeš jesť a nasýtiš sa a vystavíš si krásne domy a budeš bývať,

¹³And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied;

¹³a keď sa rozmnoží tvoj dobytok a tvoje stádo oviec a kôz, a keď budeš mať mnoho striebra i zlata a budeš mať mnoho všetkého, čo je tvoje,

¹⁴Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the LORD thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;

¹⁴aby sa nepovýšilo tvoje srdce, a zabudol by si na Hospodina, svojho Boha, ktorý ťa vyviedol z Egyptskej zeme, z domu sluhov,

¹⁵Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;

¹⁵ktorý ťa viedol po tej veľkej a strašnej púšti, na ktorej sú ohniví hadi a škorpioni, po vyprahlom kraji, kde niet vody, ktorý ti vyviedol vodu z pretvrdej skaly,

¹⁶Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;

¹⁶ktorý ťa kŕmil na púšti mannou, ktorej neznali tvoji otcovia, aby ťa ponížil a aby ťa zkúsil, aby ti potom dobre činil,

¹⁷And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth.

¹⁷lebo by si povedal vo svojom srdci: Moja sila a vláda mojej ruky mi nadovážila tohoto bohatstva.

¹⁸But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

¹⁸Ale budeš pamätať na Hospodina, svojho Boha, lebo on je ten, ktorý ti dáva silu, aby si nadobudol bohatstva, aby postavil svoju smluvu, ktorú prisahal tvojim otcom, ako je tomu dnes.

¹⁹And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.

¹⁹Lebo stane sa, keby si predsa len zabudol na Hospodina, svojho Boha, a išiel by si za inými bohmi a slúžil by si im a klaňal by si sa im, osvedčujem proti vám dnes, že istotne zahyniete.

²⁰As the nations which the LORD destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of the LORD your God.

²⁰Jako národy, ktoré Hospodin zahubí zpred vašej tvári, tak zahyniete, pretože ste nepočúvali na hlas Hospodina, svojho Boha.
