¹The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.

¹Videnie Izaiáša, syna Ámosovho, ktoré videl o Júdovi a o Jeruzaleme za dní Uziáša, Jotama, Achaza a Ezechiáša, judských kráľov.

²Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.

²Počujte, nebesia, pozoruj ušima, zem, lebo Hospodin hovorí: Synov som vychoval a vyvýšil, ale oni zradne odpadli odo mňa.

³The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.

³Vôl zná svojho hospodára a osol jasle svojho pána; Izrael nezná, môj ľud nesrozumieva.

⁴Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.

⁴Beda hriešnemu národu, ľudu, obťaženému neprávosťou, semenu zlostníkov, porušeným synom! Opustili Hospodina, rúhali sa Svätému Izraelovmu, odvrátili sa zpät.

⁵Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.

⁵Načo aj máte byť ešte bití, keď sa len zase a vše viac odvraciate?! Celá hlava je nemocná, a celé srdce neduživé.

⁶From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.

⁶Od spodku nohy až po vrch hlavy neni na ňom celého miesta zdravého; všetko je samá rana, modrina a hnisavá rana otvorená; rany neboly vytlačené ani obviazané ani na úľavu obmäkčené olejom.

⁷Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.

⁷Vaša zem leží púšťou, vaše mestá sú vypálené ohňom, a vaša pôda, cudzinci ju zožierajú pred vami, a je púšťou, jako podvrátená od cudzincov,

⁸And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.

⁸kým dcéra Siona pozostala jako búdka vo vinici a jako nočný úchylok na uhorkovom poli, jako obľahnuté mesto.

⁹Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

⁹Keby nám Hospodin Zástupov nebol zanechal niečo málo pozostatku, boli by sme jako Sodoma, Gomore by sme boli podobní.

¹⁰Hear the word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.

¹⁰Počujte slovo Hospodinovo, vy, kniežatá Sodomy; pozorujte ušima zákon našeho Boha, vy, ľude Gomory!

¹¹To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.

¹¹Načože mi je to množstvo vašich bitných obetí? hovorí Hospodin. Nasýtil som sa zápalných obetí baranov i tuku vykŕmeného dobytka, a krvi juncov, oviec a kôz nie som žiadostivý.

¹²When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts?

¹²Keď prichádzate, aby ste sa ukázali pred mojou tvárou, ktože to kedy vyhľadával z vašej ruky, aby ste šliapali moje nádvoria?

¹³Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.

¹³Nedonášajte viacej obilných darov klamných: kadivo mi je ohavnosťou; čo do novmesiaca soboty a svolávania shromaždenia, nemôžem zniesť neprávosti ani sviatočného davu bezbožného.

¹⁴Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.

¹⁴Vaše novmesiace a vaše výročité slávnosti nenávidí moja duša; staly sa mi bremenom; ustal som od nesenia.

¹⁵And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

¹⁵Preto keď rozprestierate svoje ruky, zakrývam svoje oči pred vami, ba i keď množíte modlitbu, nečujem; vaše ruky sú plné krvi.

¹⁶Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;

¹⁶Umyte sa, očistite sa, odstráňte zlosť svojich skutkov zpred mojich očí, prestaňte zle robiť!

¹⁷Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

¹⁷Učte sa dobre robiť, hľadajte súd, dopomáhajte utlačenému k právu, súďte súd siroty, zastaňte sa práva vdovy.

¹⁸Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

¹⁸Nože poďte a pravoťme sa potom! hovorí Hospodin: Keby boly vaše hriechy jako šarlát, budú biele jako sneh; keby boly červené jako červec, dvakrát farbený, budú jako vlna.

¹⁹If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

¹⁹Ak budete chcieť a budete poslúchať, budete jesť dobré veci zeme.

²⁰But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

²⁰Ale jestli sa budete vzpečovať a postavíte sa na odpor, budete požraní od meča, lebo ústa Hospodinove hovorily.

²¹How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.

²¹Oj, ako sa stalo smilnicou mesto, kedysi verné! Bolo plné súdu; spravedlivosť prebývala v ňom, a teraz v ňom bývajú vrahovia!

²²Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water:

²²Tvoje striebro sa obrátilo na trosky; tvoje víno je pomiešané s vodou;

²³Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.

²³tvoje kniežatá sú spurní odpadlíci, spoločníci zlodejov; všetci, koľko ich je, milujú úplatný dar a ženú sa za odplatou; siroty nesúdia podľa spravedlivosti, a pravota vdovy neprijde pred nich.

²⁴Therefore saith the LORD, the LORD of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:

²⁴Preto hovorí Panovník Hospodin Zástupov, Mocný Izraelov: Oj, poteším sa nad svojimi protivníkmi a pomstím sa na svojich nepriateľoch!

²⁵And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin:

²⁵A obrátim svoju ruku na teba a očistím ťa spáliac tvoje trosky jako žieravina a odstránim všetko tvoje olovo.

²⁶And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.

²⁶A navrátim ti tvojich sudcov, ktorí budú jako tí tam prv, a tvojich radcov, ako na počiatku, a potom sa budeš volať mestom spravedlivosti, verným mestom.

²⁷Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness.

²⁷Sion bude vykúpený súdom a jeho navrátivší sa spravedlivosťou.

²⁸And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the LORD shall be consumed.

²⁸Ale skrúšenie odpadlíkov a hriešnikov prijde spolu, a tí, ktorí opúšťajú Hospodina, zahynú.

²⁹For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which ye have desired, and ye shall be confounded for the gardens that ye have chosen.

²⁹Lebo sa budú hanbiť pre modlárske duby, po ktorých ste túžili, a budete rumenieť od studu pre zahrady, ktoré ste si zvolili,

³⁰For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath no water.

³⁰pretože budete jako dub, ktorého lístie vädne, a jako zahrada, ktorá nemá vody.

³¹And the strong shall be as tow, and the maker of it as a spark, and they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them.

³¹A bude najsilnejší pazderím a jeho dielo iskrou, a oboje to bude horieť spolu, ani nebude nikoho, kto by zahasil.
