¹For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water.

¹Lebo hľa, Panovník Hospodin Zástupov odstráni z Jeruzalema a z Júdu každý druh opory, každú podporu chleba i každú podporu vody,

²The mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient,

²junáka i bojovníka, sudcu i proroka, veštca i starca,

³The captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counsellor, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator.

³veliteľa päťdesiatich i váženého radcu i múdreho z remeselníkov ako aj človeka, ktorý sa rozumie do zaklínačstva.

⁴And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.

⁴A dám im chlapcov za kniežatá, a nezbedné decká budú panovať nad nimi.

⁵And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.

⁵A ľudia sa budú navzájom sužovať, druh druha a blížny blížneho; chlapec sa zúrivo osopí na starca a človek bez vážnosti na váženého.

⁶When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:

⁶Lebo brat chopí svojho brata, príslušníka domu svojho otca, a povie: Máš odev, budeš naším kniežaťom a vezmeš túto sboreninu pod svoju ruku.

⁷In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.

⁷Ale on pozdvihne svoj hlas toho dňa a povie: Nebudem ja obväzovať rán, keď nie je v mojom dome chleba ani odevu; neustanovujte ma za knieža ľudu.

⁸For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory.

⁸Lebo Jeruzalem klesol, a Júda padol, pretože ich jazyk a ich skutky sú proti Hospodinovi, aby sa priečili očiam jeho slávy.

⁹The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.

⁹Vzozrenie ich tvári svedčí proti nim, a svoj hriech ohlasujú ako Sodoma, ani ho netaja! Beda ich duši, lebo sami na seba uvodia zlé na odplatu.

¹⁰Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

¹⁰Povedzte spravedlivému, že bude dobre, lebo budú jesť ovocie svojich skutkov.

¹¹Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.

¹¹Ale beda bezbožnému, zle bude; lebo mu bude daná odplata jeho rúk.

¹²As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

¹²Pohoničmi môjho ľudu sú deti, a ženy panujú nad ním. Môj ľude, tí, ktorí ťa vodia, zvodia ťa a pohlcujú cestu, ktorou máš ísť.

¹³The LORD standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people.

¹³Hospodin sa postavil, aby sa pravotil; stojí, aby súdil národy.

¹⁴The LORD will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.

¹⁴Hospodin prijde so súdom, aby sa súdil so staršími svojho ľudu i s jeho kniežatami a povie: Vy ste zkazili vinicu; lúpež, vydraná od chudobného, je vo vašich domoch.

¹⁵What mean ye that ye beat my people to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor? saith the Lord GOD of hosts.

¹⁵Čo sa vám zdá, že drtíte môj ľud a meliete tváre chudobných ako žernov?! hovorí Pán Hospodin Zástupov.

¹⁶Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:

¹⁶A Hospodin riekol: Pretože sa povyšujú dcéry Siona a chodia s vytiahnutým krkom, mihajú očami a chodia sem-ta drobným krokom a lákajúc poštrngávajú svojimi nohami,

¹⁷Therefore the LORD will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts.

¹⁷preto okydá Pán temeno dcér Siona prašinou, a Hospodin obnaží ich hanbu.

¹⁸In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon,

¹⁸Toho dňa odstráni Pán okrasu štrngavých spôn na ich nohách i zdobné stuhy na ich čelách i nákrčné mesiačiky,

¹⁹The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,

¹⁹náušné závesky perlisté, zápästné retiazky a jemné závoje,

²⁰The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,

²⁰klobúky, nánožné zápony, opasky, nádobky s voňavkami a amulety,

²¹The rings, and nose jewels,

²¹prstene a nánosné obrúčky,

²²The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins,

²²slávnostné rúcha, plášte, prehodné šatky a vačky,

²³The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.

²³zrkadlá, jemné košieľky, turbany a halienky.

²⁴And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.

²⁴A stane sa, že bude namiesto balzamovej vône hnis a namiesto ozdobného opasku povraz, miesto umelých kaderí plešina a miesto skvostného rúcha širokého prepásanie smútočného vreca a spálenina miesto krásy.

²⁵Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.

²⁵Tvoji mužovia padnú od meča a tvoja udatnosť v boji.

²⁶And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she being desolate shall sit upon the ground.

²⁶A tak budú kvíliť a smútiť jej brány, a ona, dcéra Siona, súc vyprataná, bude sedieť na zemi.
