¹At that time Merodachbaladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah: for he had heard that he had been sick, and was recovered.

¹Toho času poslal Merodach Baladan, syn Baladanov, babylonský kráľ, Ezechiášovi list a dar, keď počul, že bol nemocný a že vyzdravel.

²And Hezekiah was glad of them, and shewed them the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.

²A Ezechiáš sa im radoval a ukázal im dom svojich klenotov, striebro i zlato, voňavé veci aj výborný olej, celú svoju zbrojáreň i všetko, čo sa nachádzalo v jeho pokladoch; nebolo veci, ktorej by im nebol ukázal Ezechiáš vo svojom dome i v celom svojom panstve.

³Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country unto me, even from Babylon.

³Potom prišiel prorok Izaiáš ku kráľovi Ezechiášovi a riekol mu: Čo povedali tí mužovia a odkiaľ prišli k tebe? A Ezechiáš odpovedal: Prišli ku mne z ďalekej zeme, z Babylona.

⁴Then said he, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All that is in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them.

⁴A riekol: Čo videli v tvojom dome? A Ezechiáš povedal: Videli všetko, čo je v mojom dome. Nieto ničoho v mojich pokladoch, čoho by som im nebol ukázal.

⁵Then said Isaiah to Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD of hosts:

⁵Vtedy riekol Izaiáš Ezechiášovi: Počuj slovo Hospodina Zástupov!

⁶Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.

⁶Hľa, prijdú dni, že všetko, čo je v tvojom dome, a čo nashromaždili tvoji otcovia až do tohoto dňa, bude odnesené do Babylona, nezostane ničoho, vraví Hospodin.

⁷And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.

⁷Aj z tvojich synov, ktorí pojdú z teba, ktorých splodíš, vezmú niektorých, a budú komorníkmi v paláci babylonského kráľa.

⁸Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. He said moreover, For there shall be peace and truth in my days.

⁸Na to povedal Ezechiáš Izaiášovi: Dobré je slovo Hospodinovo, ktoré si hovoril. A ešte povedal: Lebo bude pokoj a pravda za mojich dní.
