¹Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

¹Takto hovorí Hospodin: Nebesia sú mi stolicou, a zem je podnožou mojich nôh. Kde jaký je to dom, ktorý mi vystavíte? Alebo kde je nejaké miesto môjho odpočinku?

²For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

²Veď to všetko učinila moja ruka, a tak sa to všetko stalo, hovorí Hospodin. Ale na tohoto hľadím: na utrápeného a na toho, kto je zdrteného ducha a trasie sa nad mojím slovom.

³He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog's neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine's blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.

³Ináče ten, kto poráža vola, zabíja človeka; ten, kto zabíja dobytča na obeť, láme psovi krk; ten, kto obetuje obilný dar, obetuje sviňskú krv; kto na pamäť kadí kadivo, dobrorečí modle. Jako si oni vyvolili svoje cesty, a jako si ich duša ľubuje v ich ohavnostiach,

⁴I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.

⁴tak si i ja vyvolím to, čo treba za ich všelijakú prostopaš, a to, čoho sa strachujú, uvediem na nich. Pretože keď som volal, nebolo nikoho, kto by sa bol ozval; hovoril som, a nepočuli, ale robili to, čo je zlé v mojich očiach, a vyvolili si to, čo sa mi neľúbi.

⁵Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.

⁵Počujte slovo Hospodinovo vy, ktorí sa trasiete pred jeho slovom: Vaši bratia hovoria, ktorí vás nenávidia a vypovedajú vás pre moje meno: Nech sa oslávi Hospodin, aby sme videli vašu radosť! Ale tí sa budú hanbiť.

⁶A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies.

⁶Čujte! Zvuk hrmotu počuť z mesta, hlas z chrámu, hlas Hospodinov, ktorý dáva odplatu svojim nepriateľom.

⁷Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.

⁷Prv ako pracovala ku pôrodu, porodila dcéra Jeruzalema; prv ako jej prišla bolesť, porodila chlapča.

⁸Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

⁸Kto kedy slýchal také voľačo? Kto videl niečo podobné? Či sa azda zrodí zem za jeden deň? Či sa narodí národ na jeden raz? Keď hľa, Sion ešte len začal pracovať ku porodu, a už aj porodil svojich synov!

⁹Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.

⁹Či by som azda ja, keď otvorím život matky, nedal porodiť? hovorí Hospodin. Alebo či by som ja, ktorý dávam rodiť, mal zavrieť život? hovorí tvoj Bôh.

¹⁰Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her:

¹⁰Radujte sa s Jeruzalemom a plesajte v ňom všetci, ktorí ho milujete! Veseľte sa s ním veľmi všetci, ktorí ste smútili nad ním!

¹¹That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.

¹¹Aby ste ssali a nasýtili sa z pŕs jeho potešení, aby ste sa nadájali a mali rozkoš z jeho veľkej slávy.

¹²For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.

¹²Lebo takto hovorí Hospodin: Hľa, obrátim naň pokoj ako rieku a jako rozvodnený potok slávu národov. A tak budete ssať, a budete nosení pri boku na rukách a hladkaní na kolenách.

¹³As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

¹³Ako keď niekoho teší jeho matka, tak vás ja budem tešiť, a budete potešovaní v Jeruzaleme.

¹⁴And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the LORD shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation toward his enemies.

¹⁴A budete to vidieť, a vaše srdce sa bude radovať, a vaše kosti budú kvitnúť ako svieža bylina. A tak sa bude znať ruka Hospodinova pri jeho služobníkoch, a bude sa zúrivo hnevať na svojich nepriateľov.

¹⁵For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.

¹⁵Lebo hľa, Hospodin prijde v ohni a jeho vozy budú jako víchrica, aby odplatil v prchlivosti svojím hnevom a svojím žehraním v plameňoch ohňa.

¹⁶For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.

¹⁶Lebo Hospodin sa bude súdiť v ohni a svojím mečom s každým telom, a bude mnoho tých, ktorých pobije Hospodin.

¹⁷They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.

¹⁷Tí, ktorí sa posväcujú a očisťujú vchádzajúc do zahrád, jedna skupina za druhou, v prostredku, ktorí jedia sviňské mäso a ohavnú vec a myši, spolu zahynú, hovorí Hospodin.

¹⁸For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.

¹⁸Lebo ja vyhľadám ich skutky a ich myšlienky. Ide čas, aby som shromaždil všetky národy a jazyky, a prijdú a uvidia moju slávu.

¹⁹And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles.

¹⁹A položím na nich znamenie a pošlem z nich, uniklých životom, k národom, do Taršíša Púla a Lúda, ktorí naťahujú lučište, do Túbala a Javána, na ďaleké ostrovy, k tým, ktorí nepočuli zvesti o mne a nevideli mojej slávy, a tak budú zvestovať moju slávu medzi národami.

²⁰And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD.

²⁰A dopravia všetkých vašich bratov zo všetkých národov za obetný dar Hospodinovi na koňoch a vozoch, na nosidlách, na muliciach a na dromedároch na vrch mojej svätosti, do Jeruzalema, hovorí Hospodin, ako donášajú synovia Izraelovi obetný dar v čistej nádobe do domu Hospodinovho.

²¹And I will also take of them for priests and for Levites, saith the LORD.

²¹A vezmem aj z nich za kňazov a levitov, hovorí Hospodin.

²²For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.

²²Lebo jako tie nové nebesia a tá nová zem, ktoré ja učiním, budú stáť predo mnou, hovorí Hospodin, tak bude stáť vaše semeno a vaše meno.

²³And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.

²³A stane sa, že od mesiaca do mesiaca a od soboty do soboty bude prichádzať každé telo, aby sa klaňalo predo mnou, hovorí Hospodin.

²⁴And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

²⁴A vyjdú a uvidia mŕtve telá ľudí, ktorí sa spreneverili proti mne, lebo ich červ nezomrie, a ich oheň nevyhasne, a budú ošklivosťou každému telu.
