¹Then said the LORD unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind could not be toward this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth.

¹A Hospodin mi riekol: Ani keby sa postavil Mojžiš alebo Samuel predo mnou, nenaklonila by sa moja duša k tomuto ľudu. Zažeň ich zpred mojej tvári, nech idú ta preč!

²And it shall come to pass, if they say unto thee, Whither shall we go forth? then thou shalt tell them, Thus saith the LORD; Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for the captivity, to the captivity.

²A stane sa, keď ti povedia: Kam máme ísť? že im povieš: Takto hovorí Hospodin: Kto na smrť, na smrť; kto pod meč, pod meč; kto do hladu, do hladu, a kto v zajatie, v zajatie.

³And I will appoint over them four kinds, saith the LORD: the sword to slay, and the dogs to tear, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the earth, to devour and destroy.

³A ustanovím nad nimi štyri čeľade trestu, hovorí Hospodin, a to meč zabiť, psov rozvláčiť, nebeské vtáctvo a zemskú zver požrať a zkaziť.

⁴And I will cause them to be removed into all kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh the son of Hezekiah king of Judah, for that which he did in Jerusalem.

⁴A vydám ich za postrk všetkým kráľovstvám zeme pre Manassesa, syna Ezechiášovho, judského kráľa, za to, čo popáchal v Jeruzaleme.

⁵For who shall have pity upon thee, O Jerusalem? or who shall bemoan thee? or who shall go aside to ask how thou doest?

⁵Lebo ktože sa zľutuje nad tebou, Jeruzaleme? Alebo kto ťa poľutuje? Alebo kto zahne k tebe, aby sa opýtal, ako sa máš?

⁶Thou hast forsaken me, saith the LORD, thou art gone backward: therefore will I stretch out my hand against thee, and destroy thee; I am weary with repenting.

⁶Ty si zavrhol mňa, hovorí Hospodin, odišiel si zpät. Preto vystriem svoju ruku na teba a zkazím ťa. Ustal som a zunoval ľutovať.

⁷And I will fan them with a fan in the gates of the land; I will bereave them of children, I will destroy my people since they return not from their ways.

⁷Prevejem ich vejačkou cez brány zeme, osirotím a zahubím svoj ľud; nenavrátili sa so svojich ciest.

⁸Their widows are increased to me above the sand of the seas: I have brought upon them against the mother of the young men a spoiler at noonday: I have caused him to fall upon it suddenly, and terrors upon the city.

⁸Viacej mi bude jeho vdôv ako piesku morí. Dovediem im, na matku mládenca, zhubcu na poludnie; spôsobím to, aby náhle dopadly na ňu úzkosť a zdesenie.

⁹She that hath borne seven languisheth: she hath given up the ghost; her sun is gone down while it was yet day: she hath been ashamed and confounded: and the residue of them will I deliver to the sword before their enemies, saith the LORD.

⁹Zomdleje tá, ktorá porodila sedem, vydýchne svoju dušu, jej slnce zajde, kým ešte bude deň, bude sa hanbiť a rumenieť od studu, a to, čo im pozostane, vydám meču pred ich nepriateľmi, hovorí Hospodin.

¹⁰Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent on usury, nor men have lent to me on usury; yet every one of them doth curse me.

¹⁰Oj, beda mne, moja matko, že si ma porodila, muža pravoty a muža sváru, s ktorým sa každý pravotí a vadí v celej zemi! Nepožičal som na úžeru, ani nepožičali mne, a jednako mi všetci zlorečia.

¹¹The LORD said, Verily it shall be well with thy remnant; verily I will cause the enemy to entreat thee well in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.

¹¹Hospodin riekol: Istotne ťa posilním na dobré. Istotne spôsobím to, že ťa bude prosiť nepriateľ v čase zla a v čase súženia.

¹²Shall iron break the northern iron and the steel?

¹²Či azda poláme železo železo od severa a oceľ?

¹³Thy substance and thy treasures will I give to the spoil without price, and that for all thy sins, even in all thy borders.

¹³Tvoje imanie a tvoje poklady dám na lúpež, nie za plat, a to pre všetky tvoje hriechy, a síce po všetkých tvojich končinách.

¹⁴And I will make thee to pass with thine enemies into a land which thou knowest not: for a fire is kindled in mine anger, which shall burn upon you.

¹⁴A spôsobím to, aby prešly s tvojimi nepriateľmi do zeme, ktorej neznáš, pretože sa oheň zanietil v mojom hneve, ktorý bude horieť nad vami.-

¹⁵O LORD, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke.

¹⁵Ty vieš, ó Hospodine! - Rozpomeň sa na mňa a navštív ma na tých, ktorí ma prenasledujú! Neber ma, podľa svojho zhovievania, preč so sveta! Vedz, že pre teba nesiem pohanu!

¹⁶Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.

¹⁶Kde a kedykoľvek sa našly tvoje slová, zjedol som ich, a tvoje slová mi boly obveselením, a radosťou môjho srdca, pretože je tvoje meno vzývané nado mnou, Hospodine, Bože Zástupov!

¹⁷I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation.

¹⁷Nesedávam v shromaždení smejúcich sa veselých ani neplesám; pre tvoju ruku sedávam samotný, lebo si ma naplnil zúrivosťou.

¹⁸Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuseth to be healed? wilt thou be altogether unto me as a liar, and as waters that fail?

¹⁸Prečo je moja bolesť večná a moja rana od úderu smrteľná, ktorá sa nechce zahojiť? Či mi budeš ako klamlivý potok, ako nie verné vody? -

¹⁹Therefore thus saith the LORD, If thou return, then will I bring thee again, and thou shalt stand before me: and if thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth: let them return unto thee; but return not thou unto them.

¹⁹Preto takto hovorí Hospodin: Ak sa navrátiš, i ja ťa navrátim, a budeš stáť pred mojou tvárou, a keď oddelíš drahú vec od ničomnej, budeš ako moje ústa. Nech sa oni navrátia k tebe, ale ty sa nenavrátiš k nim.

²⁰And I will make thee unto this people a fenced brasen wall: and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the LORD.

²⁰A dám ťa tomuto ľudu za medený múr ohradný, a budú bojovať proti tebe, ale ťa nepremôžu, lebo ja som s tebou, aby som ťa zachránil a aby som ťa vytrhnul, hovorí Hospodin.

²¹And I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible.

²¹A vytrhnem ťa z ruky zlostníkov a vyslobodím ťa z hrsti násilníkov.
