¹And I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Jacob, and ye princes of the house of Israel; Is it not for you to know judgment?

¹A povedal som: Nože počujte, hlavy Jakobove a kniežatá domu Izraelovho! Či nie je to vašou vecou, aby ste znali súd?

²Who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones;

²Vy, ktorí nenávidíte dobré a milujete zlé, ktorí sdierate s nich ich kožu a ich mäso s ich kostí!

³Who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them; and they break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron.

³A ktorí jedia mäso môjho ľudu a sťahujú s nich ich kožu a ich kosti lámu a sekajú na kusy jako do hrnca a jako mäso do kotla.

⁴Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings.

⁴No, vtedy budú kričať k Hospodinovi, ale sa im neozve, lež skryje pred nimi svoju tvár toho času, tak ako oni vykonávali svoje zlé skutky.

⁵Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him.

⁵Takto hovorí Hospodin o prorokoch, ktorí uvodia môj ľud do bludu, ktorí hryzú svojimi zubami a volajú: Pokoj, a proti tomu, kto nedá nič na ich ústa, zasväcujú vojnu.

⁶Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them.

⁶Preto vám bude noc pre videnie a tma vám pre veštenie. A tak zajde slnce nad tými prorokmi, a na čierno zatmie sa nad nimi deň.

⁷Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God.

⁷A vidiaci sa budú hanbiť a budú rumenieť veštci, a všetci, koľko ich je, zastrú svoju bradu, lebo nebude odpovedi Božej.

⁸But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.

⁸Ale ja som plný sily čo do Ducha Hospodinovho a súdu a udatnosti, aby som oznámil Jakobovi jeho prestúpenie a Izraelovi jeho hriech.

⁹Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity.

⁹Nože počujte to, hlavy domu Jakobovho a kniežatá domu Izraelovho, ktorí máte súd v ohavnosti a všetko, čo je pravé, prevraciate!

¹⁰They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.

¹⁰Každý stavia Sion krvou a Jeruzalem neprávosťou!

¹¹The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us.

¹¹Jeho hlavy súdia za úplatok, a jeho kňazi vyučujú za plácu, jeho proroci veštia za peniaze a pritom sa spoliehajú na Hospodina a hovoria: Či nie je Hospodin v našom strede? Neprijde na nás zlé.

¹²Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.

¹²Preto bude pre vás Sion oraný jako pole, Jeruzalem bude hromadami rozvalín a vrch toho domu výšinami lesa.
