¹Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.

¹Žalm Dávidov. Aleph. K tebe, ó, Hospodine, pozdvihujem svoju dušu.

²O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

²Beth. Môj Bože, na teba sa nadejem. Nech nie som zahanbený! Nech neplesajú moji nepriatelia nado mnou!

³Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.

³Gimel. A tak sa ani nebude hanbiť nikto z tých, ktorí očakávajú na teba; hanbiť sa budú tí, ktorí neverne robia bez príčiny.

⁴Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.

⁴Daleth. Daj mi znať, ó, Hospodine, svoje cesty; vyuč ma svojim stezkám!

⁵Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

⁵Hé. Daj, aby som chodil v tvojej pravde, Vav. a vyuč ma; lebo ty si Bôh môjho spasenia; na teba očakávam každý deň.

⁶Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.

⁶Zajin. Pamätaj na svoje mnohé milosrdenstvo, Hospodine, a na svoju mnohú milosť, lebo sú od veku.

⁷Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD.

⁷Cheth. Neráč pamätať na hriechy mojej mladosti a na moje prestúpenia! Pamätaj ty na mňa podľa svojej milosti, pre svoju dobrotu, ó, Hospodine!

⁸Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.

⁸Teth. Dobrý a priamy je Hospodin, preto vyučuje hriešnikov pravej ceste.

⁹The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

⁹Jod. Činí to, aby pokorní chodili v súde, a vyučuje pokorných svojej ceste.

¹⁰All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

¹⁰Kaf. Všetky stezky Hospodinove sú milosťou a pravdou tým, ktorí ostríhajú jeho smluvu a jeho svedoctvá.

¹¹For thy name's sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.

¹¹Lamed. Pre svoje meno, Hospodine, odpusti moju neprávosť, lebo je veľká. -

¹²What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.

¹²Mem. Ktorý a jaký je to človek, ktorý sa bojí Hospodina? Toho vyučuje ceste, ktorú má vyvoliť

¹³His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.

¹³Nun. Jeho duša bude prebývať v dobrom, a jeho semä obdrží dedične zem.

¹⁴The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

¹⁴Samech. Tajomstvo Hospodinovo je známe tým, ktorí sa ho boja, a jeho smluva je nato, aby im ju dal vedieť.

¹⁵Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.

¹⁵Ajin. Moje oči hľadia vždycky k Hospodinovi, lebo on vyvodí moje nohy zo siete.

¹⁶Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.

¹⁶Pé. Pohliadni na mňa a zmiluj sa nado mnou, lebo som osamelý a strápený.

¹⁷The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.

¹⁷Tsadé. Rozmnožily sa súženia môjho srdca; vyveď ma z mojich úzkostí.

¹⁸Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.

¹⁸Réš. Vidz moju biedu a moje trápenie a odpusť všetky moje hriechy.

¹⁹Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.

¹⁹Vidz mojich nepriateľov, lebo ich je mnoho, a nenávidia ma ukrutnou nenávisťou.

²⁰O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.

²⁰Šin. Ostríhaj moju dušu a vytrhni ma, aby som sa nehanbil, lebo sa k tebe utiekam.

²¹Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.

²¹Thav. Nech ma ostríhajú bezúhonnosť a priamosť, lebo očakávam na teba.

²²Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.

²²Vykúp, ó, Bože, Izraela zo všetkých jeho súžení.
