¹Then went Boaz up to the gate, and sat him down there: and, behold, the kinsman of whom Boaz spake came by; unto whom he said, Ho, such a one! turn aside, sit down here. And he turned aside, and sat down.

¹A Boaz odišiel hore do brány a sadol si tam. A hľa, práve išiel tade výkupník, o ktorom hovoril Boaz, a riekol mu: Ty, ten a ten, nože sa uchýľ sem a sadni si tuto. A uchýlil sa a sadol si.

²And he took ten men of the elders of the city, and said, Sit ye down here. And they sat down.

²A Boaz vzal desiatich mužov zo starších mesta a povedal: Sadnite tu! A sadli.

³And he said unto the kinsman, Naomi, that is come again out of the country of Moab, selleth a parcel of land, which was our brother Elimelech's:

³Potom riekol výkupníkovi: Čiastku poľa, ktorá patrila nášmu bratovi Elimelechovi, predala Naoma, ktorá sa navrátila z moábskeho kraja.

⁴And I thought to advertise thee, saying, Buy it before the inhabitants, and before the elders of my people. If thou wilt redeem it, redeem it: but if thou wilt not redeem it, then tell me, that I may know: for there is none to redeem it beside thee; and I am after thee. And he said, I will redeem it.

⁴A ja som povedal, že ti to oznámim a poviem: Kúp si pred sediacimi tu a pred staršími môjho ľudu. Ak vykúpiš, vykúp. A jestli nevykúpiš, oznám mi, aby som vedel, lebo krome teba nieto nikoho, kto by vykúpil, a ja idem po tebe. A povedal: Ja vykúpim.

⁵Then said Boaz, What day thou buyest the field of the hand of Naomi, thou must buy it also of Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance.

⁵A Boaz riekol: Toho dňa, ktorého kúpiš pole z ruky Naomy, kúpiš aj od Ruti Moábskej, ženy zomrelého, aby si vzbudil meno zomrelému na jeho dedičstve.

⁶And the kinsman said, I cannot redeem it for myself, lest I mar mine own inheritance: redeem thou my right to thyself; for I cannot redeem it.

⁶Vtedy povedal výkupník: Nemôžem vykúpiť pre seba, aby som nezahubil svojho dedičstva. Vykúp si ty moje výkupné, lebo ja by som ho nemohol vykúpiť.

⁷Now this was the manner in former time in Israel concerning redeeming and concerning changing, for to confirm all things; a man plucked off his shoe, and gave it to his neighbor: and this was a testimony in Israel.

⁷A to bol spôsob predtým v Izraelovi pri výkupe alebo pri zámene postaviť pevne každú takú vec, že človek vyzul svoju obuv a dal svojmu blížnemu, a to bolo svedoctvom v Izraelovi.

⁸Therefore the kinsman said unto Boaz, Buy it for thee. So he drew off his shoe.

⁸A tak povedal výkupník Boazovi: Kúp si! A vyzul svoju obuv.

⁹And Boaz said unto the elders, and unto all the people, Ye are witnesses this day, that I have bought all that was Elimelech's, and all that was Chilion's and Mahlon's, of the hand of Naomi.

⁹Vtedy riekol Boaz starším a všetkému ľudu: Vy ste svedkami dnes, že som kúpil všetko, čo patrilo Elimelechovi i všetko, čo patrilo Kiljonovi i Machlónovi, z ruky Naomy.

¹⁰Moreover Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, have I purchased to be my wife, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance, that the name of the dead be not cut off from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place: ye are witnesses this day.

¹⁰I Ruť Moábsku, ženu Machlónovu, nadobudol som si za ženu, aby som vzbudil meno zomrelého na jeho dedičstve, a aby nebolo vyhladené meno zomrelého zpomedzi jeho bratov a z brány jeho miesta. Vy ste svedkami dnes.

¹¹And all the people that were in the gate, and the elders, said, We are witnesses. The LORD make the woman that is come into thine house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Bethlehem:

¹¹Na to riekol všetok ľud, ktorý bol v bráne, i starší: Svedkami. Hospodin nech dá, aby žena, ktorá prijde do tvojho domu, bola jako Rácheľ a jako Lea, ktoré dve vzbudovaly dom Izraelov! A počínaj si zmužile v Efrate a nadobudni slávneho mena v Betleheme.

¹²And let thy house be like the house of Pharez, whom Tamar bare unto Judah, of the seed which the LORD shall give thee of this young woman.

¹²A nech stane sa tvoj dom ako dom Péreca, ktorého porodila Támar Júdovi, zo semena, ktoré ti dá Hospodin od tejto mladice.

¹³So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, the LORD gave her conception, and she bare a son.

¹³A tak si vzal Boaz Ruť, a bola jeho ženou, a vošiel k nej. A Hospodin jej dal tehotenstvo, a porodila syna.

¹⁴And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed be the LORD, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsman, that his name may be famous in Israel.

¹⁴Vtedy riekly ženy Naome: Požehnaný Hospodin, ktorý nedopustil, aby si dnes nemala výkupníka! A nech je slávne jeho meno v Izraelovi!

¹⁵And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life, and a nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons, hath born him.

¹⁵A bude ti na to, aby občerstvoval tvoju dušu a aby ťa zaopatroval v tvojej starobe, lebo tvoja nevesta, ktorá ťa miluje a ktorá ti je lepšia ako sedem synov, ho porodila.

¹⁶And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse unto it.

¹⁶A Naoma vezmúc dieťa položila ho do svojho lona a bola mu pestúnkou.

¹⁷And the women her neighbors gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi; and they called his name Obed: he is the father of Jesse, the father of David.

¹⁷A súsedy mu daly meno a riekly: Syn sa narodil Naome! A nazvaly jeho meno Obéd. On je otec Izaiho, otca Dávidovho.

¹⁸Now these are the generations of Pharez: Pharez begat Hezron,

¹⁸A toto sú rody Pérecove: Pérec splodil Checróna,

¹⁹And Hezron begat Ram, and Ram begat Amminadab,

¹⁹Checrón splodil Ráma, a Rám splodil Amminadába,

²⁰And Amminadab begat Nahshon, and Nahshon begat Salmon,

²⁰Amminadáb splodil Nachšóna, a Nachšón splodil Salmu,

²¹And Salmon begat Boaz, and Boaz begat Obed,

²¹Salmón splodil Boaza, a Boaz splodil Obéda

²²And Obed begat Jesse, and Jesse begat David.

²²a Obéd splodil Izaiho, a Izai splodil Dávida.
