¹At that time the LORD said unto me, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first, and come up unto me into the mount, and make thee an ark of wood.

¹Tisti čas mi reče GOSPOD: Izsekaj si dve kameneni plošči, kakor sta bili prejšnji, in stopi k meni na goro, in naredi si leseno skrinjo;

²And I will write on the tables the words that were in the first tables which thou brakest, and thou shalt put them in the ark.

²in napišem na plošči besede, ki so bile na prejšnjih, ki si ju razbil, ti pa vloži v skrinjo.

³And I made an ark of shittim wood, and hewed two tables of stone like unto the first, and went up into the mount, having the two tables in mine hand.

³Naredil sem torej skrinjo iz akacijevega lesa in izsekal dve plošči iz kamena, kakor sta bili prejšnji, in stopil sem na goro z obema ploščama v roki svoji.

⁴And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which the LORD spake unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and the LORD gave them unto me.

⁴Tedaj je napisal na plošči soglasno s prvim pismom tistih deset besed, ki vam jih je GOSPOD govoril na gori, iz sredi ognja, v dan zbora; nato mi ju da GOSPOD,

⁵And I turned myself and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they be, as the LORD commanded me.

⁵in jaz se obrnem in stopim doli z gore in položim plošči v skrinjo, ki sem jo naredil, in ondi sta, kakor mi je bil GOSPOD zapovedal. –

⁶And the children of Israel took their journey from Beeroth of the children of Jaakan to Mosera: there Aaron died, and there he was buried; and Eleazar his son ministered in the priest's office in his stead.

⁶Sinovi Izraelovi pa so šli od Vodnjaka Jakanovih sinov v Mozero; tam je umrl Aron in tam je bil pokopan. In Eleazar, njegov sin, je služboval kot duhovnik na njegovem mestu.

⁷From thence they journeyed unto Gudgodah; and from Gudgodah to Jotbath, a land of rivers of waters.

⁷Odtod so potovali v Gudgodo in iz Gudgode v Jotbato, v pokrajino potokov vodá.

⁸At that time the LORD separated the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to minister unto him, and to bless in his name, unto this day.

⁸Tisti čas je GOSPOD oddelil rod Levijev, da naj nosi skrinjo GOSPODOVE zaveze in stoji pred GOSPODOM, pripravljen za službo, ter blagoslavlja v njegovem imenu, do tega dne.

⁹Wherefore Levi hath no part nor inheritance with his brethren; the LORD is his inheritance, according as the LORD thy God promised him.

⁹Zato nima Levi deleža, ne dediščine s svojimi brati; GOSPOD je njegova dediščina, kakor mu je obljubil GOSPOD, tvoj Bog. –

¹⁰And I stayed in the mount, according to the first time, forty days and forty nights; and the LORD hearkened unto me at that time also, and the LORD would not destroy thee.

¹⁰Jaz pa sem ostal na gori kakor prvikrat štirideset dni in štirideset noči, in GOSPOD me je uslišal tudi to pot; ni te hotel GOSPOD pogubiti.

¹¹And the LORD said unto me, Arise, take thy journey before the people, that they may go in and possess the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give unto them.

¹¹A GOSPOD mi je velel: Vstani, odidi in pojdi pred ljudstvom, da dospejo v deželo in jo posedejo, ki sem zanjo prisegel njih očetom, da jim jo dam.

¹²And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

¹²Sedaj pa, o Izrael, kaj zahteva GOSPOD, tvoj Bog, od tebe? Samo to: da se bojiš GOSPODA, svojega Boga, da hodiš po vseh njegovih potih, da ga ljubiš in služiš GOSPODU, svojemu Bogu, iz vsega srca svojega in iz vse duše svoje,

¹³To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

¹³da držiš GOSPODOVE zapovedi in njegove postave, ki ti jih danes zapovedujem tebi v dobro.

¹⁴Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD's thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is.

¹⁴Glej, GOSPODA, tvojega Boga, je nebo in nebesa nebes, zemlja in vse, kar je na njej.

¹⁵Only the LORD had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day.

¹⁵Vendar se je samo k tvojim očetom milo nagnil GOSPOD, da bi jih ljubil, in izvolil si je njih seme za njimi, to je vas, mimo vseh ljudstev, kakor je danes.

¹⁶Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.

¹⁶Obrežite torej neobrezo svojega srca in ne bodite več trdovratni.

¹⁷For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:

¹⁷Zakaj GOSPOD, vaš Bog, on je Bog bogov in gospodov Gospod, Bog mogočni, veliki, silni in grozni, ki se ne ozira, kdo je kdo, in ne jemlje podkupila;

¹⁸He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.

¹⁸ki se poteguje za pravdo sirote in vdove in ljubi tujca, podeljujoč mu živeža in oblačil.

¹⁹Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

¹⁹Zato ljubite tujca, kajti tujci ste bili v Egiptovski deželi.

²⁰Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name.

²⁰GOSPODA, svojega Boga, se boj, njemu služi, njega se oklepaj in pri njegovem imenu prisegaj.

²¹He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen.

²¹On je hvala tvoja, on tvoj Bog, ki je zate storil tiste velike in strašne reči, ki so jih videle tvoje oči.tvoji očetje so šli doli v Egipt s sedemdesetimi dušami, sedaj pa te je GOSPOD, tvoj Bog, pomnožil kakor zvezde na nebu.

²²Thy fathers went down into Egypt with threescore and ten persons; and now the LORD thy God hath made thee as the stars of heaven for multitude.

²²tvoji očetje so šli doli v Egipt s sedemdesetimi dušami, sedaj pa te je GOSPOD, tvoj Bog, pomnožil kakor zvezde na nebu.
