¹At the end of every seven years thou shalt make a release.

¹Ob koncu vsakega sedmega leta napravi odpuščanje.

²And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor that lendeth ought unto his neighbor shall release it; he shall not exact it of his neighbor, or of his brother; because it is called the LORD's release.

²In ta bodi način odpuščanja: odpusti naj vsak upnik, kar je posodil svojemu bližnjemu; ne terjaj za to svojega bližnjega ali svojega brata, ker je bilo GOSPODOVO odpuščanje razglašeno.

³Of a foreigner thou mayest exact it again: but that which is thine with thy brother thine hand shall release;

³inostranca smeš za to terjati, ali karkoli je tvojega pri tvojem bratu, mu odpústi.

⁴Save when there shall be no poor among you; for the LORD shall greatly bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it:

⁴Samo da ne bi bilo ubožca med vami; kajti GOSPOD te bo obilo blagoslovil v deželi, ki ti jo da GOSPOD, tvoj Bog, za dediščino, da jo posedeš;

⁵Only if thou carefully hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all these commandments which I command thee this day.

⁵samo če boš zvesto poslušal glas GOSPODA, svojega Boga, prizadevajoč si, da izpolnjuješ vso to zapoved, ki ti jo jaz danes zapovedujem.

⁶For the LORD thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee.

⁶Ko te bo GOSPOD, tvoj Bog, blagoslovil, kakor ti je obljubil: tedaj boš posojeval mnogim narodom, sam pa ne boš ničesar jemal naposodo, vladal boš mnogim narodom, a tebi ne bo nihče vladal.

⁷If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother:

⁷Ako bode med vami ubožec, eden bratov tvojih, v kateremkoli mestu v tvoji deželi, ki ti jo daje GOSPOD, vaš Bog, ne zakrkni srca svojega ter ne zapri roke svoje proti ubogemu svojemu bratu,

⁸But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth.

⁸temuč rad mu odpri roko in voljno mu daj naposodo, kolikor zadostuje potrebi njegovi, česar strada.

⁹Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou givest him nought; and he cry unto the LORD against thee, and it be sin unto thee.

⁹Varuj se, da ne bo hudobne misli v tvojem srcu, da bi rekel: Bliža se sedmo leto, leto odpuščanja, in oko tvoje bi bilo hudobno proti ubogemu bratu tvojemu, in ničesar mu ne daš, in on bo vpil h GOSPODU proti tebi, in greh bo na tebi.

¹⁰Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto.

¹⁰Drage volje mu daj in ne bodi ti v srcu žal, ko mu daš, kajti za to stvar te bo blagoslovil GOSPOD, tvoj Bog, pri vsem tvojem delu in v vsem, česar se ti loti roka

¹¹For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.

¹¹Zakaj ubogih ne bo kar zmanjkalo v deželi, zatorej ti zapovedujem takole: Rad odpri roko svojemu bratu, potrebnemu in siromaku v deželi tvoji.

¹²And if thy brother, an Hebrew man, or an Hebrew woman, be sold unto thee, and serve thee six years; then in the seventh year thou shalt let him go free from thee.

¹²Če ti bo prodan tvoj brat, Hebrejec ali Hebrejka, naj ti služi šest let, v sedmem letu pa ga odpusti svobodnega.

¹³And when thou sendest him out free from thee, thou shalt not let him go away empty:

¹³In ko ga odpustiš na svobodo, ne pusti ga praznega,

¹⁴Thou shalt furnish him liberally out of thy flock, and out of thy floor, and out of thy winepress: of that wherewith the LORD thy God hath blessed thee thou shalt give unto him.

¹⁴ampak obloži ga z darili od ovac svojih in z gumna svojega in iz tlačilnice svoje; daj mu od tega, s čimer te je blagoslovil GOSPOD, tvoj Bog.

¹⁵And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee: therefore I command thee this thing to day.

¹⁵In spominjaj se, da si bil sužnik v deželi Egiptovski, in GOSPOD, tvoj Bog, te je odkupil: zato ti jaz danes to zapovedujem.

¹⁶And it shall be, if he say unto thee, I will not go away from thee; because he loveth thee and thine house, because he is well with thee;

¹⁶Ako pa ti poreče: Ne pojdem od tebe – ker ljubi tebe in tvojo družino, ker se mu dobro godi pri tebi –

¹⁷Then thou shalt take an awl, and thrust it through his ear unto the door, and he shall be thy servant for ever. And also unto thy maidservant thou shalt do likewise.

¹⁷vzemi šilo in mu prebodi uho na durih, in hlapec ti bode za vselej. Tudi s svojo deklo stori enako.

¹⁸It shall not seem hard unto thee, when thou sendest him away free from thee; for he hath been worth a double hired servant to thee, in serving thee six years: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all that thou doest.

¹⁸Nikar naj se ti ne zdi težko, ko ga svobodnega odpuščaš, zakaj služil ti je vredno dvojnega najemnikovega plačila šest let; in GOSPOD, tvoj Bog, te bo blagoslovil v vsem, kar opravljaš.

¹⁹All the firstling males that come of thy herd and of thy flock thou shalt sanctify unto the LORD thy God: thou shalt do no work with the firstling of thy bullock, nor shear the firstling of thy sheep.

¹⁹Vse prvorojeno, ki bo storjeno med tvojimi govedi in ovcami, kar jih bo samcev, posveti GOSPODU, Bogu svojemu. V jarem ne vklepaj prvenca svoje govedi, tudi ne strizi prvencev svojih ovac.

²⁰Thou shalt eat it before the LORD thy God year by year in the place which the LORD shall choose, thou and thy household.

²⁰Pred GOSPODOM, Bogom svojim, jih použij ti in tvoja hiša, leto za letom, na mestu, ki si ga izvoli GOSPOD.

²¹And if there be any blemish therein, as if it be lame, or blind, or have any ill blemish, thou shalt not sacrifice it unto the LORD thy God.

²¹Ako pa ima živinče kako hibo, da je hromo ali slepo, ali kakršnobodi hudo hibo, ga ne smeš darovati GOSPODU, svojemu Bogu,

²²Thou shalt eat it within thy gates: the unclean and the clean person shall eat it alike, as the roebuck, and as the hart.

²²temuč v svojih vratih ga zaužij. Čisti in nečisti naj to jé enako kakor srno in jelena,samo krvi ne jej, na zemljo jo izlij kakor vodo.

²³Only thou shalt not eat the blood thereof; thou shalt pour it upon the ground as water.
