¹And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

¹In govoril je GOSPOD Mojzesu, rekoč:

²Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.

²Posveti meni vse prvorojeno, vse, kar predre maternico med sinovi Izraelovimi, od človeka do živali: moje bodi.

³And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place: there shall no leavened bread be eaten.

³In Mojzes je govoril ljudstvu: Spominjajte se tega dne, katerega ste šli iz Egipta, iz hiše sužnosti, zakaj z mogočno roko vas je izpeljal GOSPOD odtod; in nič kvašenega ne smete jesti.

⁴This day came ye out in the month Abib.

⁴Današnjega dne, v mesecu Abibu, odhajate.

⁵And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month.

⁵In ko te privede GOSPOD v deželo Kanaancev in Hetejcev in Amorejcev in Hevejcev in Jebusejcev, za katero je bil prisegel očetom tvojim, da ti jo dá, deželo, ki v njej teče mleko in med: tedaj opravljaj to službo v temle mesecu.

⁶Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to the LORD.

⁶Sedem dni boš jedel opresnike, in sedmi dan bo praznik GOSPODU.

⁷Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee in all thy quarters.

⁷Opresniki se bodo jedli sedem dni, in ne sme biti pri tebi nič okvašenega in ne sme biti pri tebi nič kvasu v vseh krajih tvojih.

⁸And thou shalt show thy son in that day, saying, This is done because of that which the LORD did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt.

⁸In oznaniš ta dan sinu svojemu, rekoč: Delam to zaradi tega, kar je meni storil GOSPOD, ko sem šel iz Egipta.

⁹And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the LORD's law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt.

⁹In to ti bodi v znamenje na roki tvoji in kakor spominski list med tvojimi očmi, zato da bode zakon GOSPODOV v ustih tvojih: zakaj z mogočno roko te je peljal GOSPOD iz Egipta.

¹⁰Thou shalt therefore keep this ordinance in his season from year to year.

¹⁰Zatorej izpolnjuj to postavo v času za to določenem, leto za letom.

¹¹And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, as he sware unto thee and to thy fathers, and shall give it thee,

¹¹In ko te privede GOSPOD v deželo Kanaancev, kakor je prisegel tebi in očetom tvojim, in ko ti jo dá,

¹²That thou shalt set apart unto the LORD all that openeth the matrix, and every firstling that cometh of a beast which thou hast; the males shall be the LORD's.

¹²tedaj odmeni vse, kar predre maternico, GOSPODU; tudi vsakega prvenca živine, ki jo boš imel, moškega spola, daj GOSPODU.

¹³And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break his neck: and all the firstborn of man among thy children shalt thou redeem.

¹³A vsakega prvenca od osla odkupi z jagnjetom, če ga pa ne odkupiš, zlomi mu šijnjak; tudi odkupi vse prvorojence ljudi med sinovi svojimi.

¹⁴And it shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage:

¹⁴In če te v prihodnjih časih vpraša sin tvoj, rekoč: Kaj pomeni to? mu odgovori: Z roko mogočno nas je peljal GOSPOD iz Egipta, iz hiše sužnosti.

¹⁵And it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that the LORD slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of beast: therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all that openeth the matrix, being males; but all the firstborn of my children I redeem.

¹⁵In ker je bil Faraon trdovraten in nas ni hotel izpustiti, je GOSPOD udaril vse prvorojence v Egiptovski deželi, od prvenca človeka do prvorojene živali: zato darujem GOSPODU vse prvence samce, vse prvorojence izmed otrok svojih pa odkupujem.

¹⁶And it shall be for a token upon thine hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes: for by strength of hand the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt.

¹⁶In to ti bodi za znamenje na roki tvoji in kakor bi viselo za spomin med tvojimi očmi; zakaj s premogočno roko nas je peljal GOSPOD iz Egipta.

¹⁷And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:

¹⁷In zgodilo se je, ko je Faraon odpustil ljudstvo, da jih Bog ni peljal po poti skozi Filistejsko deželo, čeprav je bila blizu; rekel je namreč Bog: Morda bi bilo ljudstvu žal, ko bi videli vojno; in bi se povrnili v Egipt.

¹⁸But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt.

¹⁸Ampak Bog jih je obrnil na pot preko puščave k Rdečemu morju; in sinovi Izraelovi so šli oboroženi iz dežele Egiptovske.

¹⁹And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.

¹⁹In Mojzes je vzel kosti Jožefove s seboj, kajti on je s prisego zavezal sinove Izraelove, rekoč: Gotovo vas obišče Bog; odnesite potem kosti moje odtod s seboj!

²⁰And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness.

²⁰In odrinili so iz Sukota, in taborili so v Etamu, kraj puščave.

²¹And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

²¹In GOSPOD je šel pred njimi, po dnevi v oblakovem stebru, da bi jih vodil po poti, po noči pa v ognjenem stebru, da bi jim svetil: tako so mogli potovati po dne in po noči.Nikoli se ni umaknil oblakov steber po dnevi, ne ognjeni steber po noči izpred ljudstva.

²²He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
